95% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from three single-vineyard sites in the Chiles Valley AVA in Napa Valley, 5% Merlot from the Oak Knoll AVA in Napa Valley.

On the nose, the 2012 Reserve Block Cabernet shows complex aromas of sweet blackberry coulis, currants, and black licorice. Reviews

“Explosive nose of blue fruits, graphite and cassis. Rich and full bodied. Blueberries, raspberries, currants and mocha on the palate. The finish is long and lush. Gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from an exceptional vintage and winemaker. On par with any other Cabernet that Thomas Rivers Brown makes.”  96 points, Tom Lee, Zinfandel Chronicles

Kinsella Estates Tamara Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

This wine leads with a distinctive red licorice nose and a hint of dusty minerality. Gorgeous bright red fruit flavors of fresh tart cherries and ripe raspberries are layered with cedar cigar box notes. As the wine opens up, it shows magnificent elegance and finesse.

The 2012 Kinsella Estates Tamara Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon shows expression of this unique vineyard, drenched in warmth during the West Dry Creek growing season. The vineyard is a steep-sloping two-acre, 16 year old parcel, wedged in between an arroyo and a knoll of Spanish oaks.

Pairs with any vegetable or meat in the grill. Delicious with strong cheese as well.

Mt Monster Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Mt Monster Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 is 100 percent Cabernet

Winemaking: Our Cabernet is fermeneted in static fermenters at controlled temperatures to retain the varietal aromatics. Once complete the wine is left for 7-1- days on skins to aide in the extraction of soft fleshy tannins and build wine structure. French and American oak has been used sparingly to ensure maximum fruit expression is retained in the final wine.

Tasting notes: Deep purple in colour. Classic aromas of lifted blackcurrant, blackberry and mint on the nose. Flavours follow through of sweet berry-fruit accented by fresh muddled mint. Elegant, structured palate with big velvety tannins.

Paradigm Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 (Magnum)

My First comment tasting this wine is "wow!" It's delicious; our flagship wine at Paradigm and it delivers. Dense, deep, ripe aromas of black berry and black cherry-like fruit layered with caramel and toastiness from a nice mix of French Oak barrels. Flavors coat the palate with matching notes in a classic Cabernet Sauvignon presentation. One of our best Cabs to date!

Paradigm Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 is made from 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot , 1% Petit Verdot

Rubus Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2012

Rubus Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2012 is made from 100 percent Napa Valley Cabernet

Its long finish displays full mature flavors of blackberry, currant and chocolate with just a hint of toasty oak and black cherry. The tannins are refined and polished, allowing the fruit to be the focus. Serve this Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with a variety of bold preparations ranging from Osso Bucco to grilled red meats and cheeses.

"A 2012 Napa Valley cabernet for under $40, Rubus is an absolute steal. Ripe blackberry, currants and nuances of tobacco and vanilla on the palate. The finish is long and impressive with notes of chocolate and black cherries. Finishes with just a touch of fine silky tannins."

Sbragia Cabernet Sauvignon Monte Rosso 2012

One sip of this wine and you know you're in mountain territory. Bold Cabernet flavors of black cherry, wild blueberry and blackberry fill the mouth, and there's a minerality in the background that reflects the mineral red soils of the Monte Rosso site and brings structure to the wine. The oak brings hints of cinnamon spice, vanilla and coffee without overpowering the fruit. With chalky tannins and zesty acidity, this is a gutsy Cabernet that's built for the long haul.-

"Smooth and luscious, ripe and rich with supple, deep flavors; juicy with intensity, elegance and balance; long and seamless. - Anthony Dias Blue"
- The Tasting Panel Magazine (March 2016), 93+ pts

"From one of the great historic vineyards of Northern California, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Monte Rosso Vineyard, like all of the remaining Cabernet Sauvignons, is aged in 100% new French oak for two years prior to bottling. This is an exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon that can be drunk now or cellared for 25-30 years. Beautiful crème de cassis, cedar wood, forest floor and earthy notes are present in this big, full-throttle, dense Cabernet Sauvignon. The tannins are elevated, but fine and well-integrated. The alcohol is 14.8%, and the wine exhibits a classic style that should prove to be uncommonly long-lived and extremely promising. This is a beauty."

The Cabernet Sauvignon Casey’s Lakeview is similarly inky bluish/purple to the rim. Tasting like blood, this wine is dense and rich with lots of chocolate, espresso, earth and spice. "Darker tonalities of fruit along with distinctly savory undertones are two of the signatures in the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Casey's Lakeview Vineyard. Rich, ample and powerful, the Casey's Lakeview offers notable richness to fill out its broad-shouldered frame. Hints of lavender and mint add nuance in a virile Cabernet Sauvignon that needs at least a few years to fully come together. - Antonio Galloni"

Venetian red in colour, this wine exudes complex aromas of ripe cherry, wild berries, and dusty 'fynbos'. The palate has an array of ripe berries, cherry sherbet, crushed herbs and spices. Elegant but firm tannin affords the wine a long dry succulent finish. Drink 2015-2025.

SonVida Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

CLOSEOUT SALE

Our Cabernet Sauvignon is always the last to ripen on the Alegria vineyard in the foothills of the Andes. And this year the Cabernet Sauvignon enjoyed high heat in January, followed by a cooler than usual countdown to harvest during February and March. The consequence was a crop of perfect clusters, exemplary concentration, enhanced flavors, and optimal, natural acidity. The result is a Cabernet Sauvignon of rare finesse.

SonVida Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 boasts classic varietal notes, blackcurrant, ripe red cherry, cassis. But what distinguishes this vintage is the excellent body and structure, the soft, round tannins and minerality so characteristic of the award-winning Altamira district, and the bright balance of its finish.

Once again, we selected whole clusters by hand as we harvested relatively late, in the third week of April, with low yields of 75 hl/ha. There was then a double selection: first, by bunches, then grape by grape. Total maceration took 20 days, starting with cold soaking for four days, alcoholic fermentation 12 days, then four days additional. The Syrah came from our vineyard – as always, SonVida represents the single vineyard wine.

Yes, this is a Cabernet Sauvignon to be enjoyed with a quality steak, or cut of beef. But also it can be enjoyed on its own, its smooth balance and finesse lending ideally to a relaxed evening in good company. It will age well, as have earlier SonVida Cabernets, adding complexity and richness.

Review:

"A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah co-fermented, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in a combination of American and French oak for 18 months. This is a soft, juicy, deep, full-bodied wine with cedar wood, forest floor, blackcurrants and herbs. Drink it over the next 4-5 years."

Harris Estate Julies Creekside Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

The Cabernet Sauvignon Julie’s Creekside Vineyard is an impressive, opaque purple colored wine that is super-concentrated and extracted with relatively sweet tannins, a touch of chocolate and espresso, a full-bodied mouthfeel and pure, dark, primordial fruits. This is a big, masculine, concentrated wine set for long-term aging. Saying that, it has a certain accessibility, but won’t hit its prime for at least another 8-10 years and keep 25-30.

Review:

"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Julie's Creekside Vineyard is plump, juicy and expressive. Sweet red stone fruits, pomegranate, flowers and mint flesh out in an effortless, sensual wine endowed with power, silkiness and radiance. This is the most feminine and voluptuous of the wines in the range. - Antonio Galloni"

Harris Estate Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Missiaen's Hillside Vineyard 2013

A steep, rocky site with red volcanic soils results in our most structured and concentrated wine. Planted in 1998 using 110R rootstock and clone 337 Cabernet Sauvignon our Hillside Vineyard produces wines as breathtaking as the views from its slopes. These tiny, dark blue berries ripen near the end of September thanks to cool afternoon temperatures allowing for increased hang time and developed flavors.

Reviews:

"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Missiaen’s Hillside Vineyard represents a serious essence of Cabernet Sauvignon. It is almost painfully extracted and concentrated, but tannins are sweet, the wine enormously well-endowed, rather massive and somewhat old-school. This reminds me of how the old Mayacamas Cabernets tasted from 1968-1975: thick, super-dense bombs of massive fruit extract. This certainly possesses those characteristics. Forget it for at least 10 years and drink over the following 30 or more."

- Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Issue #222, December 2015), 96+ pts

"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Missiaen's Hillside Vineyard is the most powerful and structured of these wines. Beams of tannin set the framework as this powerful, intense Cabernet shows off its distinctive personality. The purity of the fruit here is simply remarkable. Rose petal, mint, red cherry and savory herbs add the closing layers of nuance. - Antonio Galloni"

Tar and violets position in an initial formation that is simultaneously insistent and lush. A juicy flow of broad, inky strokes of tar, black strap molasses and basil paint a portrait of a strudy, long-lasting keeper."

Long Shadows Feather Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Acclaimed Napa Valley vintner Randy Dunn has a reputation for producing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. He brings more than four decades of winemaking experience to the Columbia Valley to produce Feather, his only wine made outside of California.

Tasting Notes: Deep crimson colored with pure and expressive Cabernet Sauvignon character. Generous aromas and flavors of dark fruits, violets, coffee and toasted herbs combine with a textured mid-palate to deliver a big, yet focused, wine with polished tannins and persistent finish.

Winemaking: Grapes were hand-harvested at the peak of ripeness, then lightly crushed and fermented in small stainless steel tanks. Once fermentation was underway, the cap was pumped over aggressively to extract color and structure. As fermentation neared completion, pump overs were handled more gently to further extract color and flavors without imparting harsh tannins. The finished wine was aged 22 months in 90% new Vicard French oak barrels (Randy's cooper of choice at Dunn Vineyards as well).

Alcohol: 14.4%

Review:

One of the more backwards, structured and tannic wines of the vintage, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Feather (100% Cabernet that saw aggressive pumpovers two to three times daily during fermentation, followed by 22 months in 90% new French oak) sports an inky purple color to go with firm, masculine notes of dark chocolate, smoked earth, roasted coffee, graphite and ripe black currants. Beautifully concentrated, with solid mid-palate depth and masses of ripe tannin, it needs to be forgotten for 4-5 years, and it will drink well through 2043. - Wine Advocate 92+

"Classic medicinal Dunn nose of black cherry, graphite, dried herbs and tobacco leaf, lifted by a note of rose petal. Juicy and tightly wound, offering surprising clarity. Not at all a creamy style; in fact, even austere on the back end, which shows serious but ripe building tannins and excellent length. - Stephen Tanzer." - Antonio Galloni's Vinous (November 2016), 92+ pts

This 100% varietal wine opens with aromas of minced cherries, black fruit, barrel spices, anise and high toned herbs. The flavors are pitch black showing density and depth, with a tight core of tannins providing the frame. Coffee flavors persist on the finish. Wine Enthusiast 92 Point
