Bressia Monteagrelo Chardonnay 2015

In Monteagrelo we bring the soul of each varietal, its intimate relationship with its place of origin and its deeproots in that place. The result is an incredibly intense, yet delicately harmonious wine that excites, seduces and captures.

Monteagrelo Chardonnay  is a wine of greenish-yellow color with good intensity and luminous highlights. It gives aromas typical to the variety, combined with a touch of the oak in which it was aged. On the palate it is fresh and floral, with good body and a long, elegant finish.

Buty Chardonnay Conner Lee Vineyard 2015

While this wine displays the poise, structure and minerality that have become hallmarks of our Conner Lee Vineyard Chardonnay, the warm vintage has also delivered alluring orange spice and tropical flower notes that accentuate the lovely depth and richness.

This vivid chardonnay comes from Conner Lee’s prized 1989 and 2005 ‘clone #95’ blocks—both planted with ungrafted vines in sandy-silt soils. While it displays the poise, structure and minerality that are hallmarks of Conner Lee, the warm vintage has also delivered alluring orange spice and tropical flower notes that accentuate the lovely depth and richness. On the silky palate, layers of zesty citrus mingle with chamomile, hibiscus and honeysuckle, resulting in a wine that effortlessly combines power and grace

Chartron & Trebuchet Macon-Villages Chardonnay 2015

White gold in color with silver highlights. The notes of chalk and limestone make it a very tense and mineral wine. The palate is complex with aromas of lemon and orange blossom. The freshness is ensured by a good acidity that pleasantly wakes up the taste buds.

Ideal as an aperitif, but also with poultry and veal in creamy sauce, creamy risotto with meat or fish, grilled fish, cold antipasti and ratatouille, mixed salads, sushi. Perfect with Goat cheese.

Product Description

Ca' Momi Chardonnay is a luscious wine with intense pineapple, tropical fruit, citrus and pear, framed by caramel and creamy vanilla notes. Complex touches of butterscotch balance a zesty acidity and a long oaky and buttery finish.

Winery: Ca'Momi

The Ca'Momi Estate
When Dario de Conti, Valentina Guolo-Migotto and Stefano Migotto came to America, they wanted to make wine in Napa Valley, while capturing the spirit of their Italian heritage. They take great pride in selecting premium sources of their wine grapes with the majority of the fruit coming from Napa Valley and the rest from other carefully selected areas of California.

Napa Valley is renowned for its Cabernet Sauvignon, and also applauded for producing elegant Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Sauvignon Blanc. In addition to Ca’ Momi’s wide variety of red and white still wines, they produce Ca’ Secco, the first ever Prosecco-style sparkling wine made in California.

The house in the watercolor painting on our label (see image at right) really is Ca' Momi, our house in Veneto Italy.

We named the house in honor of Momi dea Bionda, a local character who was famous for his obsession with the house, his grapes and his wine. We liked the idea of keeping the memory of him alive. Momi was a memorable character. In his later years, he would ride around the property on an old Moto Guzzi motorcycle withthat had a sidecar attached. Across his lap he carried a rifle, to scare away those hoping to steal a taste of his grapes, and in the sidecar rode his best friend Lidia, a faithful dog who continued to ride in the sidecar even after she went blind. Some of the locals say that he haunts our home. We prefer to think that his ghost is just keeping an eye on things. His dog, too. We love the idea that Momi still watches over our home and its vineyard. In fact, we think we have seen him quite a few times.

To pair with: roasted and or spicy chicken, duck, goose, fish soup, white meat, seafood and a lot of fishes (tuna, John Dorry, red mulet, etc...).Quite all Asian cuisine. Dishes with garlic, dishes with tomatoes.

Review:

"Limpid orange. Vibrant and expressive on the nose, displaying cherry, blood orange and floral scents and a building mineral note. Sappy red currant and bitter cherry flavors flesh out slowly with air, picking up a hint of fennel on the back half. The finish hangs on with impressive tenacity, leaving behind bitter orange pith and cherry pit notes.- Josh Raynolds"
