The Logos Project I and II Estate
First a bit of background. Both Escudero's old winery and the new Valsacro facility are in Rioja Baja (southern part), bordering the province of Navarra in an area where DOCa Rioja and DO Navarra territory run together. Over the last 20 years or so, Amador has worked as consulting winemaker in a number of Navarra co-ops. This allowed him to identify a series particularly promising of old vines plantings in the area. Once the Valsacro project was up and running and the new winery in production, he decided to launch the Navarra project. In many ways, it's a mirror of the Valsacro project: old vines, careful grape selection, top quality oak and post-ageing barrel selection.
The Logos Project I and II Vineyards
The vineyards used include: Garnacha (70+ years), Tempranillo (50 years) and Cabernet Sauvignon (25 years). Cabernet is not an accepted variety in Rioja, but some 25 years ago, Navarra authorized the use of this "foreign" grape. This makes these among the oldest Cabernet plantings in the area.
To comply with DO Navarra regulations, the wines must be made grapes grown in Navarra, and be produced, aged and bottled there as well. The selection and vinification was done at the Monteagudo co-op and the ageing done in the cellars of an older winery across the street which had been unused for some time. The grapes from the selected vineyards were taken to the co-op, where a selection process set aside only the very best grapes for Logos I, keeping the remainder for Logos II.

Jubilation is our newest wine in the Colgin Cellars collection. Jubilation is our Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine created with a selection of barrels that display earlier drinking characteristics from our three hillside vineyards. As our vine age has matured and small additions have been made to our original holdings, we had the privilege of increasing our selectivity. Following the blending of our single-vineyard wines, we were fortunate to have a collection of barrels that conveyed the same elegance and complexity for which we are known, yet on a more supple, approachable frame. Jubilation is a wine ready to enjoy now, with the pedigree to age gracefully in the cellar, maintaining the Colgin Cellars’ hallmarks of perfume, freshness, and minerality. The inaugural bottling of Jubilation from the 2016 vintage was released in late 2020. Future vintages are destined for select members of the fine wine trade.
