Tierra de Leon is situated among the mountain ranges of the South Cordillera Cantábrica. This region is well known for its long history of wineries and winemaking that root back all the way to the 10th century.
Continental climate rules over Tierra de Leon. Tierra de Leon has long periods of hot and dry summers followed by cold winters. Winters can get extreme at times with temperatures below 0 degree centigrade accompanied by frosts and fogs. The region’s soils have brown rocky deposits and soft lime stones. Tierra de Leon’s soils have great characteristic for absorbing and retaining water and other mineral deposits. The climate and soil of Tierra de Leon has allowed for different varieties of grapes to grow and blossom. Pierto Picudo grape is very common in Tierra de Leon. Pierto Picudo is resistant to drought, a fine and rare quality that Tierra de Leon region takes advantage of. White grapes that make white wines, such as Verdejo, Albarin and Godello, are among other grape varieties that can be found in Tierra de Leon.

This Organic Red Blend from Tierra de Castilla is 70% Tempranillo and 30% Syrah. It’s made in a Rhone style, with whole berry fermentation proceeded by skin contact. You’ll find a dark purple color, rich cherry fruit, freshness and a surprisingly long finish that’s almost too good to be true for a value wine.

Ruffino Alauda Toscana IGT is made from 40% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot, 25% Colorino.
An elegant, full-bodied wine, Alauda is a harmonious sum of its parts. Rich with varietal flavors of plum and cherry from the Merlot and layered with ripe berry flavors from the Cabernet Franc, and unique balsamic and dark chocolate notes from the Colorino. The extended oak aging process integrates the blend while providing tertiary flavors of sweet spice and soft, elegant tannins for a lingering finish. This wine will age gracefully for decades.
Brize Clos Medecin Anjou Villages Rouge is made from 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.
This is the flagship of the Estate. Clos Medecin has been produced at the estate for 90 years. All the grapes for this wine come from a very special parcel. The wine offers red fruit aromas. It is fresh, round and ample in the mouth.
