Rubired is a red hybrid grape from Tinto Cao and Alicante Ganzin. Rubired is a California grape variety bred by Dr. Harold Olmo in 1958 for exclusive plantation in the San Joaquin Valley. Rubired produces an extremely intensely colored grape with large harvests. Rubired is used in the production of the concentrated coloring agent, Mega Purple. Mega Purple is used in low cost wines to heighten and develop the color and add sweetness. Rubired is also used in grape juice, red wine blends, and budget rose.

Deep cherry red in color with a garnet rim. On the nose, it is intense and elegant, with a base of ripe fruits that blends with the subtle tertiary aromas of sweet spices and cocoa. On the palate, it is balanced, full-bodied but with sweet and pleasant tannins, with a long and very persistent aftertaste.

Turley Pesenti Zinfandel is made from 100 percent Zinfandel.
This certified organic estate-owned vineyard was planted in the 1920s on primarily limestone soil. Though the vines are head-trained and dry-farmed, the soil plays the most important role in distinguishing this vineyard on the west side of Paso Robles. The wines have a brightness, with chalk and floral characteristic aromas unique to the site, and to Zinfandel in general.

Dark and brambly, with brooding plum and blackberry flavors accented by licorice, clove and smoked pepper tones as this builds grip toward medium-grained tannins. Drink now through 2035. 2,387 cases made.
