In 1982 willing to change his former agriculture activity, Patrick MAUDRY decided to make his dream and Passion for the wine concret. He started in purchasing and cultivating 80 ares of Pouilly-Fumé only. David MAUDRY, the youngest son of the family and his partner Shirley, joined the Domaine in 2009 after completing studies and experiences in the vineyards and the winemaking.
David and his partner Shirley have taken over the family estate and work closely together to craft outstanding Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from the Centre Loire appellations, renowned for the exceptional richness and precision of their aromatic expression.
Shirley & David Maudry Menetou Salon Cuvée Essentiel is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
Really fresh and balance wine with peppery and slightly minty notes. The nose is intense and aromatic with notes of citrus, peach and ripe fruit. The palate is fruity and fresh.

Delicate nose of vanilla dominated by citrus fruits such as grapefruit and pineapple. In the mouth, this wine has a nice balance between fruit, minerality and acidity with a long finish.

Mouth: Roundness and a touch of liveliness gives it a nice finish
Classic vinification :
- Soft pressing of the grapes upon arrival (no skin contact maceration)
- Cold settling for 24 hours at low temperature (10°C - 50°F)
- Fermentation in Stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature (17°C - 62°F)
- Ageing on the fine lees
- Racking followed by a slight filtration
- Bottling.
Served at a temperature of 12°C (53°F), it will accompany your white meats, sea fish, shellfish and cheeses.
