A dark skinned, red wine grape, Syrah can be mixed with other grape types or as a varietal wine. In the mid 2000's, the variety is said to have been one of the world's most popular grape varieties, making the seventh place on the list. This popular grape variety is used to craft Shiraz wines or Syrah wines. This variety is said to have originated from two French varieties, including the Dureza variety and the Mondeuse Blanche grape type. Viognier, Shiraz-Cabernet, or Syrah red wines are typically crafted from the grape variety and are blended with other types, including Granache and Mourvedre. Rose wines are often created from the Syrah grape, along with Port wines, luscious sparkling red wines, or fortified wines.Syrah wines take exceptionally fine when age because of its high tannin level, and are superior wines when they are aged past 15 years. This extraordinary grape type crafts wines that have strong and rich notes, including hints of espresso, violet, and even subtle aromas of black pepper or berries. Depending on the climate and soil where Syrah grapes are grown, the taste can vary, and are typically strong and powerful. Since the variety grows well in warm climates, it is usually cultivated in parts of Australia, the United States, and France. In Spain and Italy, the variety is used for blending with other grape types. Syrah wines pair well with dishes including various meat dishes such as sausages, lamb, or dishes with strong herbs or black pepper.
The epitome of cool climate Syrah. Intense and inviting, earthy, peaty but with concentrated fruit flavors of plums, blackberries, blueberries and black cherry all mixed together. Savory yet sweet, this wine just lingers on the palate. Paired with a rich lamb stew, smoked meats or your favorite Fall holiday meal, this wine will shine and develop beautifully for the next 5-7 years.
Review:
"This is a full-bodied Pinot, with rose petal and cinnamon peeking out of underbrush. It's savory, rich, and spicy, with an earthy finish."

"A rich, layered pinot with strawberry, meat, cedar and smoke aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied and rich, yet remains focused and bright at the end. Drink or hold."

La Despensa Boutique Sangiovese is made from 100 percent Sangiovese.
There's really very little Sangiovese in Chile. It was an educated gamble to plant this variety in La Despensa little corner of Colchagua and the team is thrilled with the results.
This Sangiovese is a fresh and fruity take on a classic Italian variety, but with the typical savoury notes of tomato and cherry. Perfect for early drinking, but will improve for many years to come.
100% apple wine. A blend of Golden Delicious and Fuji apples hand-picked in the Shenandoah Valley; aromas and flavors of freshly harvested apples, blossoms and spices. (semisweet)
