Xavier Cotes du Rhone Rouge 2015

The 2015 Côtes du Rhône is another beauty by this team. Licorice, roasted herbs, pepper and plenty of sweet fruit come together in this medium to full-bodied, layered, and textured effort. Made from 60% Grenache, and Mourvedre and Syrah that saw mostly concrete tank, it’s a smoking Côtes du Rhône (and a fabulous value) to drink over the coming 3-4 years.

Review:

A mix of 2011 and 2012, the NV Côtes du Rhône S M is equal parts Syrah and Grenache with the Syrah from the north and Grenache from the south. Smoked meats, leather, garrigue, olives, and assorted fruits all give way to a medium-bodied, layered, elegant red that has loads to love. -Jeb Dunnuck 92 Points

Xavier Gigondas 2015

Dark Purple, ripe blackberry and mulberry aromas are complemented by smoky herb, anise and fresh violet. Deep, sweet dark berry liqueur flavours show a smooth texture and a long snappy finish. Lots of ripeness and great balance.

Reviews:

The 2015 Gigondas (95% Grenache and 5% Mourvèdre) is a more medium-bodied, pretty wine that has an approachable feel in its ripe plum and blueberry fruits, violets and peppery herb aromas and flavors. It has ripe, supple tannin and good mid-palate depth, and it should drink nicely right out of the gate. Wine Advocate 89-91 Points

Xavier Vignon Vacqueyras 2015

Tasting Notes:   Purple and ruby notes. Fine and silky nose with subtle notes of raspberry, liquorice and vanilla. Great structure, flexible and round tannins, pleasant smooth, long finish.

Review:

One of the standouts in the portfolio is the 2015 Vacqueyras and it’s a full-bodied, charming, even sexy blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre that’s aged in a combination of one- to three-year-old barrels. Giving up loads of black raspberries, plums, spice box and garrigue, it hits the palate with an expansive, rounded and ripe profile that just begs to be drunk. I expect it will benefit from a year or two of bottle age and shine through 2025.. - Wine Advocate 91-93 Points
