Burgundy is a region in France that is located 100 kilometers from Paris, stretching another 360 kilometers to Lyon. The tiny vineyards are dotted along the narrow valley and divided into the Chablis, Cote d'Or (divided in Côte de Nuits and Cote de Beaune), and Cote Chalonnaise, Maconnais, and Beaujolais districts. The region has many different soil types and microclimates and has been identified into 400 separate classifications. The soils are predominately clay-limestone, limestone, and marl. The vineyards cover 25,000 hectares and are divided into 99 wine appellations that are made up of 5,200 wine growers. 85% of the vineyards are no larger than 10 hectares. 180 million bottles of wine are produced annually. The Pinot Noir grape produces 90% of the wine that is grown in the region. The most common white grape grown in the region is Chardonnay. The Cote d’Or is where Burgundy's most famous and most expensive wines are found, and is split into two parts: the Cote de Nuits, which starts just south of Dijon and extends to a few kilometers south of the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges, and the Cote de Beaune, which starts at Ladoix and ends at Dezize-les-Maranges. The region is 40 kilometers long, and in some places, less than 2 kilometers wide.

Famille Sambardier Pouilly Fuisse La Levee is made from 100% Chardonnay
The wine is very aromatic, with brioche, butter and citrus flavors. The length to the finish is long and balanced with great acidity and richness.
Hand harvested. Grapes were sourced from a vineyard in the village of Solutré. 10% of the wine was aged in French Oak barrels.
Excellent with poultry and fresh water fish. Delicious also with goat cheeses.

Auxey-Duresses exhibits intense and juicy aromas of cherries, raspberries, and spices. This is a charming wine that has harmonious and delicate tannins, and a fine texture in the mouth. Medium-bodied, elegant and complex with great concentration and structure.

Florence Cholet Auxey-Duresses Rouge Premier Cru Les Ecussaux is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
The nose expresses a nice bouquet of black fruits, cherry and violet. The mouth provides a rich and supple wine with a good tannin structure.
Full, well-balanced, mineral, with a hint of flint aromas. Lemon and lime flavors.
The parcels are located in Puligny Montrachet and Pommard.

Mordoree Tavel Rose Reine des Bois is made from Grenache
Nose: Steady rose, brilliant and cristal clear.
Aromas : very complex : from flowers, white fruits and red fruits (strawberries, pomegranate, rapsberry). Slightly mentho-lated
Palate : fresh, classy, elegant, very long.
Aging capacity : 8 to 10 years.
This wine comes from a parcel planted on a pebbled soil covered with stones, whose geology is typical of the grands crus from the Rhone Valley (a base made of marine molasse from the Miocene period covered with an alpine diluvium from the Villafranchian period). 100 % destemming, cold maceration during 48 h., pneumatic pressing, fermentation at 18° C.
To pair with: roasted and or spicy chicken, duck, goose, fish soup, white meat, seafood and a lot of fishes (tuna, John Dorry, red mulet, etc...).Quite all Asian cuisine. Dishes with garlic, dishes with tomatoes.

"A blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault and 10% Clairette, the 2022 Tavel La Reine des Bois is a touch darker in hue than its stablemate, the La Dame Rousse, but it's still not among the darkest of Tavels in the glass. That's perfectly okay, as the aromas and flavors are textbook for the appellation: crushed stone, flowering garrigue, ripe cherries and mouthwatering strawberries, all capped off by refreshing citrus-zest notes on the lengthy finish. Full-bodied and full-flavored, it's one of the candidates for top Tavel this year. - Joe Czerwinski"

Paul Hobbs George Menini Estate Pinot Noir is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
Brilliant ruby red in the glass, the 2022 vintage follows the color with matching aromas of wild mountain strawberry, raspberry, and cherry infused with hints of black tea. On the palate, this wine has the texture of thick satin, evolving seamlessly with subtle energy and pleasant tension. Elegant, fine-grained tannins run through a lingering, juicy finish.
Review:
Wow, a super well-structured, vital wine with oodles of generous black fruit flavors on a firm frame that will help it age well and improve with time. Black cherries, blackberries, blueberries, forest floor nuances and a slight smoky, stemmy character from using mostly Calera-clone grapes, with 15% whole clusters and 30% new French oak. Great interplay between layered fruit and a fresh, crunchy texture. Drinkable now, but best from 2030.
