Abeja Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley is made from 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot.


Aged for 20 months in 100% French, medium toast; 60% new, 40% one & two year old
The nose leads off with plum, bright blackberry, and dark bing cherries. A touch of dried blueberry rounds out the fruit profile. Floral notes and cocoa, with nuances of cedar and spice, are sprinkled throughout. All of these characters follow through on the palate and, with a pleasant minerality and continuity, weave a tapestry of complexity and youthful exuberance. 

 


Review:

(14.7% alcohol; mostly from Bacchus and Dionysos vineyards): Healthy dark red. Nicely ripe, nuanced aromas of black- and redcurrant, blueberry, licorice, fresh herbs and tobacco leaf. Deep, spicy, chewy Cabernet with lovely acidity giving shape and clarity to its flavors of blueberry, blackberry, cassis and bitter chocolate. Very nicely balanced, long wine with firm tannins that avoid dryness.

"Bright, dark red. Ripe aromas of currant, black cherry, licorice, fresh herbs and dark chocolate, lifted by a floral element. Plush and seamless but laid-back, conveying a restrained sweetness to its creamy flavors of currant, mocha and licorice. This wine didn't display quite the sweetness, horizontality or length of the 2015 Merlot on first pour but it expanded beautifully with 48 hours in the recorked bottle without losing its spring. A very suave Cabernet with excellent aging potential. - Stephen Tanzer"

Abeja Syrah Walla Walla Valley 2013

Complex and compelling, this estate-grown Syrah sends up smoky notes of cured meat, nougat and caramel. Black cherry fruit anchors the barrel notes, and it just gets more and more delicious as it winds its way across the palate. This demonstrates classy winemaking and perfect balance.

The fruit for this wine is grown at an elevation of 1310 feet on the grounds of the Winery. The higher elevation and the proximity to the Blue Mountains, gives this vineyard a longer, cooler ripening season than most other areas of the Walla Walla Appellation. The cooler site results in a style much like that of a classic Northern Rhone with complexity and balance without the concentration and higher alcohol levels of Syrah produced in warmer areas.

Accordini Amarone Classico Le Bessole 2013

Intense garnet color. Black cherry and raspberry aromas. The mouth is full and persistent with a good structure.

Lasting but soft, creamy, full of scent of dried fruits.

Ideal with boiled, roasted and grilled meat.

The grapes are generally harvested in the first two weeks of October. They are laid on racks in single layers to allow a better air circulation. The grapes start to dry out on the fruit and on average, after 120 days, they loose 45% of their weight. The grapes are vinified in the end of February with a long maceration on the skins until the wine reaches an alcohol content of at least 15%. The wine is then refined in kegs before being transferred into barrels. The wine is usually bottled 3 years later.

Winemaking is a delicate process which operates the selective extraction of juice and protects the color and the aromas. It determines the identity of the future wine. Control of the low temperature fermentation allows as well the smoothness and the delicacy. The final balance of the Rosé d'Anjou will be defined at the tasting to achieve a real harmony between sweetness and acidity, revealing the varietal aromatic character (strawberry, citrus ..) and fermentation (sweet candy pink flower. .). Fermentation is followed by a long stay on fine lees to bring the maximum delicacy and subtleness.

No malolactic fermentation. No oak

To be served chilled (10-12°) with barbecued meats, salads, any spicy food, poultry dishes and of course apetizers.

Alain Jaume Cairanne Les Travees 2015

Alain Jaume Cairanne Les Travees is made from 65% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre.

Our selected vines for this cuvée are on slopes facing south.
Considered as one of the most famous name under the "villages" category, this part of the RHONE may ask to be up-graded CRU level soon.

The wine delivers an intensive nose, with loads of black fruits.
Starting full and concentrated, with silky tannins, the mouth reveals blackcurrant and a cherry fruit typicity.
It finishes with typical notes of pepper and earth.
Enjoy with roasted lamb or braised or BBQed pork. gpoes also very well with mild cheese, such as brie or camenbert.

Alain Jaume Cotes du Rhone Rouge Haut de Brun 2015

Alain Jaume Cotes Du Rhone Rouge Haut de Brun is made from 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Cinsault

The colour is purple-tinged garnet.The aromatic range of the nose goes from fresh berries (wild raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry) to spices.The palate is big and full-flavoured, with silky-smooth tannins and aromas of the fruit already mentioned. The finish introduces touches of liquorice and pepper. A Côtes du Rhône with great complexity for an every day drinking.

A classic Rhône to drink between 1 and 4 years. Best poured at 17°C.

Traditional wine making and ageing is performed in vats only. Bottling after 10-12 months.

Ideal throughout the meal, but particularly with poultry and other white meats, as well as mild cheeses.

Alain Jaume Domaine du Clos de Sixte Lirac  is made from 50% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre

An intense red garnet color. On the nose, aromas of red and black ripe fruit (kirsch and wild blackberry). The mouth is full, with aromas of blackcurrant liqueur and spice. Tannins are both harmonious and elegant thanks to the fleshiness of the wine. Hints of licorice and vanilla on the finish, which gives the wine length and complexity.

Soil type LIRAC vineyard is facing Chateauneuf du Pape, opposite side of the Rhône river. As showed by the picture and following geologist George Truc, soils are almost similar in both side. They are marked by the violence wrought by the Rhone river. It consists of a layer of marine molasses of the Miocene period covered by alpine alluvium. The presence of a great number of rounded stones known as "galets" in the earth is evidence of the time when the Rhone, then a torrent, tore fragments of rock from the Alps and deposited them on the plain. LIRAC is one of the up-coming best area from the southern Rhône valley, as it delivers outstanding wines. Winemaking & ageing Traditional wine-making in stainless still vats. Hand sorted bunches, crushed and destemmed grapes. Fermentation temperature : 30°C. 18 days of vatting with pigeages.

Alain Jaume Gigondas Terrasses de Montmirail  is made from 90% Grenache, 10% Syrah.
Deep red garnet color. Aromas of ripe and black fruits. On the palate the wine is rich, powerful and harmonious - well balanced with wild berry and pepper dominating.

Another winner is the 2015 Gigondas Terrasses de Montmirail. Coming from higher elevation sites and mostly limestone soils, its vibrant purple color is followed by beautiful spice, black raspberry, kirsch and dried flower-like aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, balanced and polished, with plenty of fruit yet also solid underlying ripe tannic structure, buy a case and enjoy bottles over the coming 7-8 years.

Alain Jaume Lirac Rouge Roquedon is made from 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre, 10% Carignan.

Inky color. The nose is dominated by aromas of wild fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry) and spices. Long and balanced mouth.
"Roquedon" deliver more of the "round"- "sweet" body from the Grenache, and cherry-red fruit expression. It is dark in color, almost black.
