Campania is a region in Southern Italy and boasts the second largest population of all Italian regions. It is approximately 5,248 square miles. The Captial City is Naples and is the host region of the ancient city of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. It is located on the coast of the Italian Peninsula with the Mediterranean Sea bordering the region to the West and including the Island of Capri and Phlegraean. The name Campania derives from the Latin and when translated from the original “Campania Felix”, means fertile countryside. Since the 12th century B.C., winemaking has been a part of the traditional culture in the area. Wines grown here are meant to be consumed for immediate satisfaction. It is home to the Taurasi DOCG, and also the origin of the Falanghina variety. Campania’s viticulture is rich in abundant sunshine, dry hot summers, long growing seasons, and mild winters. The soil is volcanic and rich in minerals. Wines produced here are aromatic whites with floral notes and complex reds that are meant to be consumed young. Campania is home to grape varieties Aglianico, Fiano, Greco, and some of the lesser known grape types Biancolella, Forastrera, Suppezza, Sabato, Sciascinoso, Asprinio, and Coda di Volpe.
All older vintage wines have been purchased from a single collectors cellar. Pictures can be requested before shipment.

Guillemot-Michel Vire-Clesse Charleston is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.
This cuvée is produced from hundred-year old vines that the great-grandfather planted after he returned from World War I. The family wanted to honor his memory and vinify these vines the same way he did, in old demi-muids.
Charleston is a deep and complex wine that gently express itself in the glass, offering juicy white fruit flavors and a lengthy finish.
Charleston is vinified and aged for one year in demi-muids of over 10 years old. During the following harvest, the wine is racked and placed in vats for another 6 months of aging before bottling.
Fish in white sauce, poultry in creamy sauce, hard cheeses.
Review:
The 2020 Viré-Clessé Charleston is the most structured, concentrated wine in the range, mingling notions of crisp orchard and stone fruit with scents of clear honey, white flowers, beeswax and mint in an inviting bouquet. Medium to full-bodied ample and satiny, it's layered and multidimensional, with impressive depth at the core, racy acids and chalky grip. Derived from the Guillemot family's oldest parcel of vines (dating back to 1918), it's built to age.

Charles Smith Sixto Uncovered Chardonnay is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.
Not from here, this wine is otherworldly. Apricot, stone, pippin apple, sea breeze, and wildflowers mingle to create this compelling beauty. Sit down and take your time with this wine, to savor the incredible structure, with a long and lingering presence of toasted almonds, apple blossom, and flint. A wonderful journey!.
Review:
What a pretty nose. Lemon peel, fresh white flowers, lavender, crushed sage and wet stone. Medium-to full-bodied with carrying acidity. Extremely articulate and graceful on the palate with bright citrus and a dried-floral note. Impressive depth and length. Salty and tangy on the finish with vibrancy. Drink or hold.
