Isabelle and Ricardo Peña, guided by the vision of renowned winemaker Ignacio Recabarren and the support of a U.S. partner, decided to bottle their own expression of the Clos Quebrada de Macul vineyard. The result was Domus Aurea, a wine born from precision, patience and profound respect for the land. Since its inaugural vantage in 1996, Domus Aurea has stood apart - crafted in small quantities, shaped by low yields and defined by a non-interventionist approach that lets the vineyard speak. In 2003, Jean-Pascal Lacaze joined the project, bringing a quiet intensity and deep-rooted understanding of terroir that have helped elevate Domus to international acclaim.
The first choice for the wines name was "Dominus" but of course, it was taken (as you well know). So, for the concept being about showing something proper, owned by the family and unique, "Domus Aurea" has been chosen.

Stella Aurea is a Chilean red made from 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot.
Expressive and complex, berries and minty, balsamic tones.
Wide and dense palate with fine tannins and silky texture.

Hand harvested- Wine is aged at least 6 months in bottle, with further aging potential of 15 years.

Our Chardonnay is hand picked then gently whole-cluster pressed to avoid bitterness. The juice is fermented in large puncheons and a mix of neutral and new oak barrels. We age in barrel for a full 12 months with some stirring on the lees after malolactic fermentation. This is our classic take on Chardonnay, one of the original varietals we planted in 1974 and grew for over 20 years.
VINEYARD: Elk Cove Vineyards purchased Goodrich Vineyard in 2014. A 69 acre property planted with 21 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Goodrich sits just outside the town of Yamhill, Oregon in the heart of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Goodrich Vineyard was planted in 2007 with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in high-density a format. The property boasts the exact same marine sediment (Willakenzie) soil as our Mount Richmond property and lies just a few miles from our Estate Vineyard in Gaston. Ferme Blanche Cassis Blanc Excellence is made from 40% Marsanne, 20% Ugni Blanc, 20% Clairette, 10% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Bourboulenc.
The wine has a pale golden color and offers subtle aromas of citrus fruits, peach and apricot, and floral notes of acacia and linden. Crisp and lively on the palate, good tension and length and a refreshing finish.
Pair with sea stews, shellfish, traditional fish and chips, octopus salad.
