The Paarl Valley is a South African wine-producing region that is known for its viticulture, lush landscapes, and beautiful orchards. The wine region is surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges and has a lovely warm climate and nice cool breezes in the autumn. The town of Paarl is one of the oldest European towns of South Africa, but its name is pronounced differently by the Africans. This region is home to many wineries and is a popular destination for wine-tasting and touring. The Paarl Valley mostly features white wine grapes, but the location is prime for reds as well. Since the luxurious climate of the region is typically warmer compared with regions such as Stellenbosch, red wine grape varieties tend to grow quite well there. These varieties tend to grow well typically in high elevation. The wine region is known for varieties of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, or Chenin Blanc , Chardonnay and Semillon varieties that grow in the region.
The city of Paarl is known for Nelson Mandela’s exit from the now Drakenstein Correctional Center after almost 30 years in prison. The region is also known for the beautiful Pearl Mountain or Paaral Rock, which is a large rock that has been compared to the many wonders around the world.

Cazaux Vacqueyras Rouge Grenat Noble 100% Grenache.
This wine is the result of extraordinary weather conditions. The first cuvée was produced in 1992 when violent storms and floods affected the region (especially Vaison la Romaine). The following days were radiant and accompanied by Mistral winds. We could then continue to harvest or more precisely harvest what remained of a rotten crop - but a noble rotten crop!
Following our first involuntary test of 1992, we wanted to reproduce this wine but we had to wait until 1995 to isolate the parcels that were capable of producing this noble rot. Unfortunately, the "noble" phenomenon does not occur every year despite late harvests (October 15).
The resulting wine is offers aromas of small red berries (cherries, raspberries), liquorice, fig, honey, fruit brandy and plum. It is elegant, supple and smooth on the palate with a firm, generous and suave structure. A beautiful length on spices and cherry.
This Grenache nectar marries will with dishes such as pan-fried foie gras in honey and fig preserve, leg of lamb with preserved fruits accompanied by local cereal "epautre" or other sweet and sour dishes.
Wolfberger Alsace Grand Cru Riesling Rangen de Thann is made from 100 percent Riesling.
Mineral, spicy, minty with some eucalyptus notes, tropical fruits, grapefruit. Balanced and exotic in the finish, with long lasting flavors.
The Rangen Grand Cru is located in Thann, deep in the south of Alsace. Its particular soil is made of volcano-clastic rocks that drink up the heat of the day and send it back out again at night. The composition of the soil allows the roots of the vines to drink deeply from the mineral-rich sub-soil. Its southern exposure has the advantage of refreshing, drying winds in case of dampness. The high slopes are quite steep, reaching 68% in some places, requiring that the harvest be done by abseiling or roping down. Perfect for aging, these wines will reveal even more qualities after several years in the cellar.
