Carneros (officially Los Carneros AVA) is one of California’s most respected and distinctive wine regions, straddling the southern end of both Napa and Sonoma counties. Cooled by persistent breezes and morning fog from San Pablo Bay, Carneros enjoys a true maritime climate that produces some of the finest cool-climate wines in the state.
The region’s clay and loam soils, combined with its windy, foggy conditions, slow ripening and preserve acidity — resulting in wines known for balance, finesse, and aging potential rather than sheer power. Many of California’s most acclaimed sparkling wine producers (such as Domaine Carneros, Gloria Ferrer, and Mumm Napa) are based here, alongside outstanding Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from wineries like Kistler, Robert Sinskey, and Hyde Estate.
In short, Carneros delivers some of the most elegant, Burgundy-inspired wines in California — a cool-climate gem that consistently punches above its weight.

Star-bright vibrancy. Chiseled acidity and minerality focus the palate with flavors spanning lemon ice to dried mango and hazelnut. The purity of this wine showcases the coolness of the 2023 vintage. A captivating texture of precision and charm highlights this complexity offering.
Review:
This wine is truly excellent, showing a mineral-edged nose with pure energy and tension. Aromas of struck match, citrus blossoms, crushed stones and salted nuts. The palate is taut, with no hard edges and driving acidity that keeps you salivating for minutes. Closing in on perfection. Drink or hold.

Hyde de Villaine Napa Valley Hyde Vineyard Belle Cousine is made from 85% Cabernet Sauvignon & 15% Merlot.
The name Belle Cousine is a reference to Pamela Fairbanks de Villaine, Larry Hyde’s lovely cousin, who is the wife of Aubert de Villaine of Burgundy. It is Pamela who brings these visionary viticultural families from Burgundy and the Carneros region of Napa Valley together to make wines that express the character of place, with that rare minerality so dear to the Burgundian palate. Belle Cousine is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that varies each vintage; Merlot from Niebaum selections and Cabernet from Bordeaux-origin selections.
The vineyard is certified Napa Green Land and Fish Friendly Farming and Larry Hyde uses a variety of biodynamic and organic practices in the vineyard; the wines are unfined and unfiltered.
Review:
"The balance of fruit purity and savory nuances is divine. Aromas of black currants, licorice, dried herbs and leather. The palate is mid-weighted with a pure, refined mouthfeel and firmly framed yet fine tannins. A well-crafted blend of 85% cabernet sauvignon and 15% merlot that shows great harmony."

Tasting Notes: Our Chardonnay is both fresh and creamy and has notes of citrus, green apple, white peach, and vanilla. Enjoy with roasted chicken, salads, fresh seafood, and cream sauces.
“Marañones is so to say our signature vine. This is why the winery was named after this location.
It is part of the mountain at 800 m in altitude, oriented North. We find there the three types of granite of San Martin: the white granite, the brown and the pink. Each vineyard at Marañones has a different soil. Some are on a hill. Others are more towards the plains.
In this wine we wish to convey the Marañones area so representative of the whole winery. this is why we make this wine from the great Garnacha grape. We use a mix of vines since it is not a Parcela wine, which would be much more delicate and of more limited production.
The 100 percent Garnacha expresses itself fully, both in the nose and in the mouth, with flavours of blackthorn, a sensation of fleshy fruit retaining a slightly crispy texture. Then comes a full silkiness, with the granularity of these granite soils rich in quartz. That nugget of quartz is noticeable in the texture, length, fineness, elegance and the floral element of the wine.”
bright, ruby Grenache with wild herb, flower and crunchy red fruit flavors. Sharp tannins add structure to this full-bodied wine.
