Tucked away in the Chehalem Mountains, we’re a little off the beaten path. But we like it that way.
Located in the northern Willamette Valley, we believe the Chehalem Mountains has always been an area ripe with possibility. That’s why we planted our first vineyard here and established the first winery here in 1972 – when the Willamette Valley was nothing more than a sleepy hamlet of rolling hills scattered with small farms and acres of open fields.
Today, the Chehalem Mountains region is still rural and idyllic. Vineyards and world-class wineries are surrounded by lush farm and agricultural land, and are often hidden by old growth fir forests. On a drive to Adelsheim, you’ll see alpacas, horses, goats, and even donkeys (as well as lots of other fauna)!
We now own 368 acres of land, with vineyards planted in 174 of those acres. Our estate sites, like the geography of the Chehalem Mountains, are diverse – some big, some small, some at higher elevations, some at lower elevations, some on volcanic soils, some on sedimentary soils.

Inky purple-red in color with intense depth to the rim. Aromas of sweet rich fruit and lifted cedar oak fill the glass. Abundant blackberry, violets and cigar box roll through the profile adding complexity and interest. The palate is round and silky with dark plum, liquorice, briar and blackberry primary fruits. The rich, toasty oak, and fleshy rounded tannins complete the palate of this dense, flowing wine. This poised and powerful wine is drinking amazingly well but with it's density and presence will cellar impeccably well.
Selected parcels of estate fruit were de-stemmed into our open fermenters and seeded with yeast. The ferments were pumped over twice daily to maximise color, tannin and flavor extraction. The temperature controlled fermenters allowed the ferments remain in the 22-25 °C range giving amazing fruit expression in the wine. Each parcel was pressed after a minimum of seven days fermenting on skins. The wine completed both primary and ML fermentation in tank before being filled to American oak hogsheads (300Ltrs) to mature. Faust Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
Cabernet’s classic aromas and flavors star in the 2022 Faust Napa Valley. Delicate violet notes lift the dark fruit on the nose—black currant and briary blackberry—layered with pungent forest botanicals, leafy tobacco, graphite, and toasted spice. Paul Hobbs ALH Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc.
This wine presents the eye with a magenta hue and a vibrant ruby red rim. The nose offers up an inviting bouquet of ripe red cherry, damp earth, and nuances of fresh violet. The palate is elegantly structured, with harmonious layers of fine-grained tannins and refreshing acidity. A cool, composed wine with gorgeous flavors and silky texture, showing blueberries, dark chocolate, pencil shavings, minerals, violets and pomegranate. Full-bodied yet light on its feet, this feels lacy and airy despite lots of depth and concentration.

Maipe Malbec Reserve is made from 100 percent Malbec.
Maipe was the Lord of the Winds for the ancient Andean Indians. He is still called upon to clear the skies after heavy rain, or to temper the summer heat.
The nose reveals dried plum and dark fruits, exotic spices, with hints of violet and chocolate. Round and fleshy, with enticing crushed plum and boysenberry fruit enlivened by a liquorice snap note. Fresh acidity lies buried on the medium-weight, juicy finish.
The grapes are carefully chosen and fermented in small lots to preserve the vineyard identity. Alcoholic fermentation for 12 days with indigenous and selected yeasts, at temperatures of 26 and 30°C, combining, remontage, pigage and delestage in order to obtain the best quality of tannins and structure.
Chaume Chablis is made from 100% Chardonnay.
Light yellow color. The wine displays aromas of white flowers, honeysuckle, linden, citrus as well as white and dried fruits.
In the mouth, the wine is well balanced with tension and a nice classic minerality found in Chablis.
Trefethen Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 6% Petit Verdot .
Dark fruit aromas of plum and black cherry are integrated with savory hints of cocoa, pepper and fragrant herbs. Bright on the palate, concentrated cherry flavors are layered with softer notes of vanilla and forest floor.
This wine pairs well with fatty dishes, which will highlight its fine-grained tannins and herbal notes. Winery Chef Chris Kennedy recommends fire roasted dishes and grilled or braised red meats.

There are 225 cases of the 2019 Chardonnay Simpatico Ranch, which is from a cooler, higher elevation site in Sonoma. Lots of peach, tangerine, honeyed minerality, and toasted hazelnuts all emerge from the glass, and while I don't think it matches the 2018, it's a brilliant Chardonnay offering medium to full-bodied richness, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. It's beautifully balanced and is going to keep for at least 5-7 years."

The wine is full-bodied, weighty, and rich yet remarkably agile on its feet because of firm underlying acidity.

The 2019 Chardonnay Three Jacks Vineyard, from vines planted in 1995, was barrel fermented and matured in 31% new French oak for 14 months. It's one of the best iterations I've tasted, combining expansive flavor and texture with precise, laser-like acidity. It offers delicate, pure scents of apricot, dried tarragon, white pepper and citrus blossoms with a stony undercurrent. The medium-bodied palate has dynamic energy from its oily texture and shimmery acidity, and it finishes with tense, mineral-driven flavors. It has much more to give as it unfurls in bottle and will be long lived in the cellar.

The Bien Nacido Vineyard is located in the Santa Maria Valley on the South Central Coast of California, just east of Santa Maria. The topography of the valley features transverse ranges with an east/west orientation, opening up to the Pacific Ocean. The climate is strongly influenced by the ocean providing ideal temperate growing conditions for Chardonnay. Early spring warming, mild summer temperatures and late arriving cold fall temperatures provide a long growing season for the development of rich color along with concentrated and complex flavors.

Appasionata Andante Pinot Noir Willamette Valley is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
A wonderful wine six years on. Andante means ‘gently, unhurried.’ Savoury herbs and redolent violet aromas leap from the glass, chased by fresh fruit and spice. The palate is so well structured and built for another decade but generously gives red and blue fruits and savoury spice to those with less patience. Finesse drives the red fruit to the fore, fleshy raspberry, sweet cranberries and sweet blue fruit. Ample minerality and spice deliver the finish.

Mount Veeder Winery Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 2% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc.
The Mount Veeder Winery Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep ruby color. Aromas of black plum, blackberry, fig and ripe cherry, framed by toasted oak and caramel. A hint of dried herb and floral notes. The concentrated fruit flavors and integrated tannins introduce a rich, full-body structure. Sweet fruit is balanced with acidity and savory notes of leather and wet stone, ending with a lengthy finish of dark berry, baking spice, and mocha.
Review:
The nose is robust and deeply scented, with aromas of mulberries, blackcurrants, pine needles and spices. The palate is full-bodied with firmly integrated tannins and bright acidity, giving notes of mocha, dark cherries, tapenade and dried herbs. Quite pure and focused.
