Arneis is a pale colored grape that hails from northwest Italy, or Piedmont region. It can also be found in California, Australia and New Zealand. Arneis means “the little rascal” in Piedmont, where the grape first originated. The name stemmed from the problematic susceptibilities during the growth and harvest of the grape. The yield for the grape can be low and it strains to produce the proper amount of acidity. It is quite vulnerable to powdery yellow mildew. It also has a tendency to become over-ripe if harvested after September. Belonging to the DOCG Roero Arneis in Italy, and is most commonly found in the hills of Roero and northwest of Alba. It was once only used in combination with the Nebbiolo grape. Because of this, it has received nicknames such as “White Barolo” and even “Nebbiolo Bianco”. Arneis, however, does not come from the same grape family as the Nebbiolo. It was used to mitigate the harshness of the Nebbiolo (to soften the tannins) as well as offer a better nose on the finished product. Arneis presents elevated aromas of white flowers, almond, and pears, and displays medium to full body, apple, pear, and apricot flavors on the palate. Because of these light fruit flavors and delicate aromas, it has often been used to produce sparkling wine or dry, late harvest passito.
The light hay coloring is loaded with greenish reflections. The fragrance is soft and complex, especially inviting with aromas hinting broom, chamomile and fresh fruit. The flavor is pleasantly tangy, full and very persistent.

Deep and brilliant, purple-red colour. An exciting nose with aromas of black fruit (blackcurrant, cherry) spices and vanilla. This great aromatic complexity is found on the palate : the spices and ripe fruit appear with an elegant woodiness and harmonious tannins. The finish has good aromatic length and introduces a touch of liquorice and pepper.
A terrific Châteauneuf du Pape with great concentration and finesse.

Review:
"The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Origines is also deep purple-hued and has a classic bouquet of crème de cassis and blackberry fruits intermixed with notions of graphite, chocolate, and spicy wood. Rich, full-bodied, and concentrated, this is beautifully done and despite its more modern elevage, it has plenty of Provençal character and charm."

"Warm in feel, with a gush of plum puree and blackberry paste flavors, liberally laced with black licorice and roasted alder notes. A solidly built, modern version, with a nice tug of warm earth on the back end. Best from 2022 through 2034. —J.M."

Trump Winery Viognier is made from 100 percent Viognier.
True to its variety, this wine has delicate floral notes and aromas of peach, honeysuckle, and tropical fruits. Barrel aging creates a palate that is round, elegant, and complex, giving the wine additional hints of vanilla and toast. Enjoy with roasted chicken, Asian dishes, poached seafood, and crabcakes.
