Kinsella Estates Jersey Boys Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 (magnum)

Kinsella Estates Jersey Boys Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaker: Thomas Rivers Brown

Pure 100% cabernet Sauvignon, this vineyard continually astonishes. Loads of loamy soil notes followed by blue and black fruits give this cabernet massive depth and beautiful integrated tannins. Milk chocolate, crème de cassis and tobacco give this massive wine the depth you come to expect with Napa cabs, but it is all Sonoma County, all from our magnificent little private valley which sees sun all day! We buy no fruit; we sell no fruit.

Jersey Boys Vineyard (Kevin Kinsella is the largest individual investor in the hit Broadway show "Jersey Boys")

Jersey Boys is a six-acre vineyard that was replanted in 2008 with four different clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, handpicked by winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown.

Wow…just Wow!! This wine has it all. Not as “big” as past vintages this wine is gangbusters right out of the gate. Ripe blackberry, juicy and rich with a wonderful chocolate core. Has a dusky quality that we have seen in this vineyard in the past that tricks your brain into thinking the wine is older than it is. It’s pure. It’s rich. It’s delicious! Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown

Any vegetable or meat in the grill. Delicious with Chocolate as well.

“While it was the third consecutive year marked by limited rainfall, the 2014 vintage offered a perfectly temperate growing season characterized by long, moderate days and cool, clear nights. We began the year with warm spring conditions that gave way to an early budbreak and the consistent, dry weather afforded an optimal fruit set of small berries with incredible concentration. Crop yields were down a bit from 2013, but the quality was magnificent. It was a textbook growing season, every winemaker’s dream.”

Review:

"There are 645 cases of the 100% Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Jersey Boys Vineyard (named after the fact that the Broadway Musical “Jersey Boys” was brought to the stage and screen by the owner of Kinsella). This wine and its siblings will do a lot to establish Dry Creek as more than another viticulture area better known for Zinfandel than Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a killer Cabernet Sauvignon with dazzling fruit levels and loads of loamy soil notes intermixed with black raspberry, blueberry and blackcurrant. The superripe and pure fruit hits the palate with a full-bodied crescendo. The wine offers up notes of underbrush, unsmoked cigar tobacco, pen ink and plenty of crème de cassis and blackberry, Drink it over the next 20-25 years. - RP"

All of our selections of wines are made from five varietals on the estate. Every wine is 100% farmed and grown by us.

Complexity in our wines supported by luscious fruit and acidity is our hallmark. Our efforts during harvest and barrel cellaring concentrate on maintaining the freshness from the first day we handpicked each vineyard block. Simple winemaking protocols are employed while crucial “timing” oriented winemaking decisions rule each day.

Dark Cabernet color with beautiful aromas of black cherry, cassis, plus 5-spice, vanilla. Big, ripe and mouthcoating across the palate. The flavors are similar to the aromas with ripe fruit, berry/cherry pie, moderate tannins, and nice length. This wine shows enough structure to be age-worth, yet soft and balanced enough to enjoy upon release. Flavors linger in this tasty, dense wine. Tastes like Oakville. -Heidi Barrett

Niner Wine Estates Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Niner Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec.

2021 was a benchmark vintage for Cabernet in Paso Robles. The long, cool growing season was ideal for our Bordeaux grapes and allowed them to slowly ripen, creating complex flavors and wines built to age. The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon was aged 21 months in French Oak barrels and is one that you’ll want for your collection. It is an elegant wine with a balance of dark fruit flavors and herbaceous notes with lush tannins.

We hand harvested the grapes from our estate vineyards in Paso Robles in late September/early October. We fermented our Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Petit Verdot whose rich color is a natural complement. We aged the wine in French Oak barrels for 16 months before selecting our favorites for the final cuvee. The barrels were blended and then aged an additional 5 months in a large oak cask before being bottled. About a ⅓ of the barrels were new, adding warmth and structure.

Round Pond Estate 'Kith & Kin' Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Round Pond Estate 'Kith & Kin' Cabernet Sauvignon  is made with 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 6% Malbec.

Bursting with bright aromatics of cassis and crushed raspberry, they are balanced with an earthy hint of dried sage and clove. The wine offers an energetic play between acid and tannin on the front palate with notes of blackberry and violet with a touch of cocoa on the mid-palate. Fine-grained tannins follow throughout each sip leading to a long, rich, finish.

Review:

Big and rich, this deeply saturated and mouth-filling wine overflows with ripe, plump blueberries, black currants and black cherries accented with mint and dark chocolate. It’s delicious enough to drink young.

Product Description

Arns Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is made with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon -big rich up front with elevated flavors of chocolate, anise, black cherries, sumac, violets.
High acids seen in this wine during its barrel aging process have come into balance with some bottle age. A highly complex wine from a smaller crop reflects the characteristics of Arns Estate. High tones of black/red hues smothered in chocolate, red bing cherries, anise, briar, menthol, mint, sumac and smoke are very reflective of this prominent Vintage.

Arns 2007 Vintage was a different sort of growing year when comparing the past ten years. Total rainfall was only 13" but it seemed to come at the right moment. Early heat spikes and a strong, distinct ripening pattern gave our rocky hillside better than average fruit. We harvested earlier than normal finishing the end of September, 2007. We are lucky to be able to harvest block x block when our fruit is ready. A big chocolate wine, with wild cherries, lavender, cassis, cinnamon, ginger, violets and tightly wound, as all of Arns' Cabernets are at this stage of development.

"This small, artisanal estate has released a dense ruby/purple-colored 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate revealing a distinctive bouquet of chocolate, espresso roast and cassis. Tight for a 2007, the wine reveals exceptional concentration, medium to full-bodied flavors and impressive purity, length and texture. Give it 1-2 more years of bottle age and drink it over the following 15+."
