Produced from the oldest parcel of the estate dating back from 1979 and planted on the slopes of the Vergisson Rock, "Clos sur la Roche" benefits from a south sun exposure. A beautiful Pouilly-Fuisse from "La Marechaude" parcel that Saumaize-Michelin acquired in 2013. Planted on clay and limestone slopes and hand harvested, this Chardonnay offers fresh and elegant notes of white flowers, crisp, citrus and exotic fruits. Powerful and mineral on the palate with a fantastic balance, finesse and freshness. The exceptional terroir brings minerality and juicy flavors of stone fruits, peach and melon supported by subtle toasty notes.

Product Description
Domaine Michel Delorme Pouilly Fuisse Sur la Roche is produced from 40 year old vines ideally situated on the south east faced slope near the rock of Vergisson.
The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks with a short period in oak barrels. Bright golden yellow color. The nose offers floral and stony mineral aromas. Rich and elegant on the palate with citrus and lemon flavors, and a nice acidity.

Domaine Michel Delorme was founded in 1820 and is located in Vergisson, a very small traditionally winegrowing village in South Burgundy, 10 km from Mâcon and famous for its “Roche” (rock). Delorme family has owned the Domaine for generations. The origin can be traced back to the 17th century.
The Domaine Michel Delorme Vineyard
The vineyard is composed of 4.3 hectares (10.6 acres) of land. The breakdown is 3.9 hectares of Pouilly-Fuisse and 0.4 hectare of Saint-Veran. Approximately 60% of his production is sold in bottle and 40% sold in bulk to negoce. Production is about 2,400 bottles of Saint-Veran (200 cases) and 16,000 bottles of Pouilly-Fuisse (1,333 cases). The vineyards are cultivated on slopes around the Rock of Vergisson, with a south-southeast exposure. Pouilly-Fuisse and Saint-Veran wines are both 100 % made from the little golden-seeded Chardonnay grape.

Its purity, its elegant style, its supple, polished nature ... it’s a wine of its own.Distinct in character, this is not like Cabernet from the Vales below or the hills to the east. From its pretty, delicate florals and musk, through to its silky blackcurrant and kalamata juice and down to its dark carbon soul - Trueman is a modern Cabernet that encapsulates all the toil and antiquity of Clarendon. Echoing the unearthed prose of wine writer Ebenezer Ward from 1886 on theCabernet sown from this very land – Trueman is “an excelled wine, of very marked flavor and bouquet”.

Deep garnet/purple, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Hickinbotham Vineyard has a classic nose showing pronounced fresh blackcurrant and blackberry highlighted by cloves, menthol, pencil shavings and earth notes. Medium to full-bodied, taut and muscular, the palate has grainy tannins, nice freshness and a long finish.

Brilliant ruby red in the glass, the 2022 vintage follows the color with matching aromas of wild mountain strawberry, raspberry, and cherry infused with hints of black tea. On the palate, this wine has the texture of thick satin, evolving seamlessly with subtle energy and pleasant tension. Elegant, fine-grained tannins run through a lingering, juicy finish.
Review:
Wow, a super well-structured, vital wine with oodles of generous black fruit flavors on a firm frame that will help it age well and improve with time. Black cherries, blackberries, blueberries, forest floor nuances and a slight smoky, stemmy character from using mostly Calera-clone grapes, with 15% whole clusters and 30% new French oak. Great interplay between layered fruit and a fresh, crunchy texture. Drinkable now, but best from 2030.
