Maionnette Mediterranee Blanc is made from 30% Rolle, 30% Viognier, 20% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc.
Domaine de la Maïonnette is produced from grapes benefiting from an ideal location next to the river and planted on a clay-limestone based soil with a silty character, which brings suppleness, roundness and lightness to the wines.
La Maionnette is a brilliant straw yellow colored white offering delicate aromas of citrus fruits, and fresh notes of pear and apricot. Rich and round on the palate, and a good balance.

Domaine de La Maïonnette is located in La Crau, in the heart of Côtes de Provence, just a few kilometers from the village of Pierrefeu du Var. The estate has been an independent winegrower since 1913, and today cultivates 30 hectares of vines with passion and respect for the terroir.
The vineyard is equally divided between two appellations: AOP Côtes de Provence and IGP Méditerranée. The vines benefit from an ideal location near the river and are planted on clay-limestone soils with a silty character, which imparts suppleness, roundness, and lightness to the wines.
In addition to the traditional rosé wines of Provence, Domaine de La Maïonnette produces high-quality white and red wines. The estate is certified organic, reflecting a commitment to sustainable viticulture that allows the Mediterranean terroir to shine through in every bottle. Yellow-gold color. The nose is rich in aromas of citrus fruit, tropical fruit, quince and honey, with a touch of vanilla. On the palate, the same aromas appear together with a fatness combining exotic fruit and vanilla : the wine is rich, generous and elegant, with extraordinary length. "La Fontaine" is often considered to be one of the best Châteauneuf du Pape white, and it is by definition a superb gastronomy wine.

Review:
Medium gold-hued, the 2024 Châteauneuf Du Pape La Fontaine Blanc offers rich, complex aromatics of ripe orchard fruits, white flowers, almond paste, and hints of fresh croissant. It's medium to full-bodied, with a pure, layered, seamless mouthfeel, and it’s beautifully layered and textured, with integrated acidity and a blockbuster of a finish. Pure gold in white Rhône, I wouldn't push the aging curve here and would drink bottles over the coming 5-7 years, possibly a decade. Don't let that deter you, though. This is absolutely riveting stuff. Drink 2025-2032. There are few better run estates in the world than the Jaume family's Domaine Grand Veneur. Located in the northern part of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and run today by brothers Christophe and Sébastien Jaume, the estate produces a quasi-modern style of Châteauneuf-du-Pape with some of their cuvées seeing some new oak. Nevertheless, these never lose their Southern Rhône soul. The range includes three red Châteauneuf-du-Papes: Le Miocène (the traditional release, 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre, aged 14 months in 30% neutral barrels with the rest in concrete), Les Origines (always the most modern styled effort, 50% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, and 20% Syrah, aged 16 months in 50% new barrels), and the Vieilles Vignes (45% Grenache, 45% Mourvèdre, and 10% Syrah from old vines, aged 16 months in 55% new barrels). The whites are also are brilliant, with their La Fontaine Blanc being pure gold in white Rhônes and riveting stuff in just about every vintage. It’s a richer, textured, concentrated style of white geared for the dinner table. Across the board, these are impeccably well-made wines that always check in near the top of a vintage. Readers should note that the estate also produces a larger number of négociant wines bottled under the "Alain Jaume" label.

This is rich, opulent and luxurious, and it has a delightful satin texture. Almond and perfumed pear notes run through it to the long, creamy finish. This has real detail, freshness and depth. The oak work really adds complexity and structure. I would drink this young, but it could age with interest. A very enchanting wine. Not as rich as some recent vintages, but it feels better balanced and more drinkable as a result. Fermented and matured in barriques, 50% new, the rest one year old.

Pale yellow colour with hints of green, aromas of white flowers (may blossom, honeysuckle).
The palate is pleasantly balanced between liveliness and roundness, which brings out characteristics of dried apricot, honey and elderberry. A Châteauneuf du Pape white displaying a great finesse.

Soil type Coming from the single vineyard named “La Fontaine”, the plot is facing north.It is made of clay-sand and limestone. Thanks to the northern orientation, it is always very well aired. This sector allow the Roussane and Clairette to mature in great conditions without losing freshness, which we believe is key point. Winemaking & ageing Whole-bunch pressing. Vinification in stainless-steel tanks. Fermentation temperature controlled at 15°C.

A blend of 60% Clairette and 40% Roussanne, the 2024 Châteauneuf du Pape blanc Le Miocène is slightly reduced with aromas of spices, white fruits, sesame and ripe orchard fruits. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, it’s layered and lively, framed by gastronomic bitterness and ending with a long, ethereal finish. It was matured for six months in stainless steel.

Act II opens with a playful back-and-forth of the mineral laden mid-palate and a lilting tune of a green grass finish.

The 2024 Pinot Blanc Momtazi Vineyard Autees is a bit more subtle at this early stage, though it opens to notes of melon rind, beeswax, fresh pear, and candied lemon. The palate is more vibrant, with refreshing acidity, an even, chalky texture, a kiss of sweet fruit, and medium-bodied richness. Drink over the next several years.

The 2024 Lirac Blanc La Reine des Bois is more tensile than usual, wafting from the glass with aromas of spring blossoms, white lilac, almonds and honeysuckle. Medium- to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's racy and saline, with an enveloping core of fruit and a long, chalky finish. Crafted from vines planted on galets roulés and calcareous soils, this is a blend of undisclosed proportions of Grenache Blanc, Viognier and Clairette with a touch of Marsanne and Roussanne.

Piper-Heidsieck Rare Brut Champagne is made from 70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir.
The effervescence of Rare Millésime 2013 is tinged with an intensely bright, light golden color. The nose, at first subtle and clean, emerges in two stages combining tonicity and elegance. It all begins with the delicacy of white flowers, a hint of black tea and touches of citrus, kiwi and kumquat. Then, notes of lime blossom, green tea and fern give way to aromas of white fruits such as greengage plums. Touches of chestnut honey, sweet spices, vanilla and marzipan round off the wine's rich bouquet. The two facets of Rare Millésime 2013 are confirmed in the mouth: smooth and vibrant, indulgent and dynamic. After hints of meringue, whipped cream and marzipan, kumquat, blood orange and kiwi then provide a refreshing tonicity. On the finish, the comforting texture of Rare Millésime 2013 appears as an aromatic and smoky indulgence punctuated by a freshness and a subtle bitterness. Rare Champagne's iconic signature of tropic minerality is expressed differently in Rare Millésime 2013, extended by a plump and prolonged aftertaste.

Originally a part of the legendary Piper-Heidsieck Champagne house, Rare is moving their Champagne Millésime to a new brand and want it to stand alone. (Think Delamotte and Salon.) The 13th vintage for this cuvée, the 2013 Champagne Millésime is a blend is 70% Chardonnay with the rest Pinot Noir, with the majority of the blend coming from the Montagne de Reims Grand Cru and Premier Cru. A bright yellow hue, its aromatics are exquisite and well-balanced, with fresh notes of key lime, candied apple, fresh croissant dough, fresh pineapple, and honeysuckle. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with a rounded and supple texture and a pillowy mousse. It’s long on the palate and has a silky personality as well as a long, pristine finish. It has fantastic balance of decadence and freshness, and I could drink this all day. It’s going to have a long drinking window. Drink 2024-2044 and beyond. Disgorged December 2022.

Like a stallion out of the gate, this shows an initial explosion of power, in the form of mouthwatering flavors and fine texture, before quickly settling into an elegant gait. The racy acidity is seamlessly knit, buoying the lacy mousse and flavors of cassis, toasted brioche and tangerine, with accents of candied ginger, hazelnut and fleur de sel lingering on the long, creamy finish.

The Cotes du Rhone Reserve from Domaine Grand Veneur — the Alain Jaume family's estate in Orange — is a Grenache-led blend with Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvedre off the appellation's limestone, sand and red-clay terraces. Vinified in tank and bottled young, it's all wild raspberry, blackcurrant and blackberry with a lick of licorice and pepper: a supple, everyday southern Rhone red. Shown here in the 375ml half-bottle.
