Product Description
“Puteus” is a Salice Salentino DOP reserve, made of 80% of Negroamaro and 20% Malvasia Nera, as the disciplinary code requires. In the last stage of fermentation the wine is stored in stainless steel tanks for the first year, then aged in oak barrels. It has a deep red color with hints of violet.

The best wine pairing is with meat dishes, roast meat with a juicy frosting, seasoned cheese and salami, and it sparks with spicy dishes!

In the sunny Salento area, since 1950, the Mocaveros produce high quality wines that spread out qualities such as tradition, taste, research, passion whom Francesco and Marco are devoted, as homage to the heritage of their father Pietro.
By convention, the birth of the Mocavero winery is traced back to 1950, when an uncle of Pietro's, Tommaso, bequeathed the winery to him. In reality, the roots go back much farther in time, to the early 20th century, with the work and passion of Francesco and Marco's great-grandparents. In the 1950s, the first winery was built in the historic center of Monteroni di Lecce, a few kilometers from Lecce. The wine was produced and sold in bulk and was very popular in the local market of Lecce and the surrounding area .
In the 1990s, Francesco and Marco picked up the family tradition and gave birth to the fourth generation of winemakers, leading the winery to success, like true “warriors,” as their surname would mean in Arabic, with enthusiasm and resourcefulness. Personally following the selection of grapes, vinification, aging and bottling, Francesco and Marco have contributed to the growth of the winery, to establish themselves internationally as producers of great native wines-Primitivo and Negroamaro in primis-and to break away from the past of producers of “blending” wines for the great wines of northern Italy. Not only passion, but also initiative and enthusiasm, as the name Mocavero itself indicates in ancient Arabic: 'Warriors'. Yes, Warriors of Taste, Artisans of Wine.
Nowadays, Mocavero production includes 12 red wines, 3 white ones, 2 rosé ones, 1 dessert natural sweet wine, whom we can gather in 5 lines.
Today the winery is located in the countryside of Arnesano, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, where Francesco and Marco, following both tradition and innovation, with scrupulousness and with taste continue to produce high quality wines which are now a guarantee both in Italy and abroad: in them it is possible to find, besides the goodness of precious grapes, the taste of ancient flavors handed down, the passion of humble and authentic people.
Tradition, passion, quality, dedication and spirit of self-sacrifice have allowed the Mocavero winery to receive numerous awards, the first, in 1994 itself, at the first Vinitaly experience in Verona, where the Salice salentino doc “Puteus” 1989 was a remarkable success.
Today 90% of production is destined for the foreign market: Germany, Holland, Luxembourg, England, Australia and the United States make up the “hard core” of the company's exports. The remaining 10% is taken up by the Italian market, which has been growing sharply, especially in the last year.
Not only “Mocavero” wines. In fact, thanks to a focus on the market and customer needs, the Mocavero winery can call itself “versatile,” managing to produce “private label” wines on behalf of its customers.

Mocavero Primitivo del Salento is 100% Primitivo.
Deep red color with hints of violet, sweet spicy and ripe fruity notes, soft, persistent taste with skilful balanced tannins.
This ancient vine variety requires special attention during vinification to ensure that it expresses all the varietal characteristics, it needs periodic aeration and a particular temperature control. Once maceration is complete, the must is separated from the marc and fermentation ends in stainless steel tanks.Once it has been fermented the wine is refined in american Oak barrels for 3-4 months. When the refining process is complete, the wine is filtered and bottled.
Pairs best with roast meat, wild fowl, cold-cuts and mature cheese.
Aalto P.S. Pagos Seleccionados Tinto is made from 100 percent Tempranillo.
Climatic conditions
The farming year began with a mild autumn and little precipitation. A very dry winter started with -9ºC reaching at the end higher temperatures than normal for that time of the year. Spring and summer characterized by little rain, only some rain showers in July and late August avoided the hydric stress of the vines. The vegetative cycle of the vine developed with big variations of temperatures, alternating warm and atypical low temperatures of 4ºC for mid-June. The ripening of the grapes happened under very good conditions and the harvest started on 24th September 2019.
Grape origin
100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) primarily from very old vines – 60 to 90 years old – from selected plots in La Horra and La Aguilera. The harvest was done by hand, in small boxes of 15 kilos that are thoroughly inspected, bunch by bunch, on the selection table.
Tasting notes
Purple red color. On the nose we perceive good dark fruit intensity and elegant spicy hints. On the palate it is fresh and dense with enveloping tannins. AALTO PS 2019 is a long, intense and full of nuances wine that will benefit from a time in the bottle.
Average oak ageing
Aged for 21 months in new French oak barrels.

"A red made exclusively from Tempranillo, from vineyards 60 to 90 years old, grown in the pagos of La Horra and La Aguilera, with 21 months of aging in new French oak barrels. Captivating in aroma and flavor, it shows ripe red and black fruit alongside floral, herbal and sweet-spice notes, which carry onto the palate, where its good acidity and firm, very fine-grained tannins lend support to the oak and balance to the whole. It has a full, very long finish, with reductive, earthy touches of cassis, blackberry, violet and licorice. It follows the house's powerful style, yet shows itself more fluid, tense and vertical. A fine example that concentration, opulence, precision and finesse can go hand in hand. Be patient with it in the glass or in the bottle, as it is still young and has everything it needs to get even better over the next 20 years. Alcohol 15%."

Aiguilhe Cotes de Castillon is made from 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc.
This wine reveals a complex and elegant bouquet that combines ripe fruit, leather and a fine woodiness. Round and warm on the attack, the palate is supported by solid tannins and a pleasant freshness in this harmonious and well textured wine.
The Merlot bring fruity notes and minerality from the clay-limestone terroir, enhanced by the incredibly expressive and spicy Cabernet Franc.

The nose seduces from the very first sniff with its complexity: a minty, mineral freshness, with hints of slate and slightly meaty notes that add depth to the ripe red fruit enveloping the nostrils. The palate is decidedly indulgent, ample and juicy, carried by crushed, sweet red fruit, before a finish that lingers on noble bitterness. A wine that is still young, but already delightful.

The 2019 d'Aiguilhe was picked from 19 September to 5 October and matured in 30% new oak. This has a beautiful, very pure bouquet, demonstrating more precision than the Clos Marsalette alongside. The palate has a spring in its step with fresh red berry fruit, cedar, mint and a citric twist right on the finish. What a delicious d'Aiguilhe, even if I still cannot pronounce its name.

A terrific effort from this large and immaculately maintained property on the clay-limestone slopes of the Côtes de Castillon, the 2019 d'Aiguilhe exhibits aromas of cherries and cassis mingled with notions of burning embers, licorice and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with lively acids, powdery tannins and a mineral finish, it's intelligently matured in tank and large-format oak as well as small barriques.

Alejandro Bulgheroni Lithology Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 99% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Cabernet Franc.
Here the Cabernet comes to us typically flawless, and the wines are as such. There is blue fruit, blueberries, black plums, blackberries, and cassis to the aromas, as well as stones, mineral, chocolate, fresh tobacco, and subtle herbs. It is incredibly full-bodied, but at the same time effortlessly drinkable, with ultra-smooth tannins and a positive, long, upturned finish. 70-75% new French oak is the norm for us with Dr. Crane, and those flavors are absorbed to become a vanillin complexity, sweetness, and length. An unbelievable wine.

You don’t see many Cabernet Franc-dominated wines from this site, but the 2019 Cabernet Franc Lithology Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard is certainly impressive. Offering more herbal, chocolate, gravelly earth, and espresso aromas and flavors, it has full-bodied richness and, as expected, is a powerful, opulent expression of this noble variety. The blend is 83% Cabernet Franc and 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 20 months in 80% new French oak. It will benefit from short-term bottle age and drink nicely for 20 years.

Alejandro Bulgheroni Lithology Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon.
Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate Lithology is a series of single vineyard and AVA-designated wines made from select sites within Napa Valley. Lithology Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is produced solely from fruit grown in the historic Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard planted in 1865 by W.H. Crabb and represents Oakville's famous bench land.

The 2019 Cabernet Franc Lithology Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard just shines for its bouquet, which is classic To Kalon with its floral, incense, spicy, red and black-fruited aromatics. These all flow to a medium to full-bodied, utterly seamless Cabernet Franc that’s balanced, has laser-like precision, and a great finish. This isn’t the biggest or richest wine in the lineup, but it’s Cabernet Franc in all its glory, with soaring aromatics and complexity, ample richness and texture, and a beautiful sense of finesse and elegance. It’s going to keep for 15-20 years with no issues.

Composed of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2019 Lithology Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is a barrel sample with a deep garnet-purple color. It needs a fair bit of coaxing to unlock scents of blackberry pie, warm blueberries and cassis plus suggestions of spice cake, underbrush, candied violets and chocolate box. The full-bodied palate brings forth loads of earthy layers to accent the rich, black fruits, framed by plush tannins and lovely freshness, finishing long and fragrant.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Lithology Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is one of the very finest wines I have tasted from Alejandro Bulgheroni's Napa Valley project. The 2019 To Kalon captures all the pedigree of this iconic Oakville vineyard, and yet also remains nuanced and wonderfully finessed for an intense wine. To Kalon Cabernets are rarely this elegant, but the Bulgheroni 2019 sure is.

Alejandro Bulgheroni Lithology Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon.
We only produced a scant 50 cases of this wine this year, far too small an amount considering how great it turned out. There’s that typical saturated to the rim deep purple color, with intense cassis, herb, and milk chocolate, bricks and forest floor, black plum pudding aromas. In the mouth, there’s a great balance, with notable oak and vanilla notes intertwined with dense black fruits. It’s an opulent and plush style, yet finishes with sweet grippy tannins.

Pure perfection in Cabernet, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Alejandro Bulgheroni is all varietal and comes two-thirds from Oakville with the balance from sites in St. Helena and Rutherford. Aged 20 months in 70% new French oak and put together by Philippe Melka and Michel Rolland, it has an incredibly pure, full-bodied, massive yet weightless style that I suspect couldn’t be achieved anywhere outside of Napa Valley. Cassis, blackberries, leafy herbs, lead pencil shavings, and tobacco leaf are just some of the nuances here, and it’s full-bodied, deep, and concentrated on the palate while maintaining an ethereal, seamless, utterly perfect balance between its fruit, alcohol, tannins, and acidity. As good as it gets, it needs just 2-4 years in the cellar and will evolve gracefully for at least 20-25 years.

Dark plum in color with abundant aromas of dark chocolate, black cherry, and sun-ripened blackberry with a hint of cedar. Layered flavors of blackberry and raspberry pie filling, accompanied by notes of cinnamon, chocolate, and nutmeg play on the palate. Smooth and focused with refined tannins and a medium finish.
Davila L100 Loureiro Rias Baixas 2023 is made from Loureiro.
Adegas Valmiñor sits in the O Rosal valley, the warm southwestern corner of Rías Baixas where the Miño River meets the Atlantic. The Davila range is the winery's tribute to the native grapes of Galicia, and the L100 is its purest expression of Loureiro — a single-varietal bottling (the "100" is for 100% Loureiro) drawn from vines in O Rosal.
The fruit is picked late for extra ripeness, given a short cold maceration, and the wine then rests six months on its fine lees in stainless steel. The result is an aromatic, textured white — white flowers and bay leaf lifting over ripe stone fruit, with a broad, almost unctuous mouthfeel balanced by the saline freshness O Rosal is known for.
A natural match for shellfish, grilled fish, and fresh cheeses.
