St. Supery Dollarhide Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot.
This Cabernet Sauvignon presents with deep, dark reds and purples. Aromas are opulent with ripe blackberry, black plum, cassis, chocolate, and toasted oak. A rich, dense profile follows with flavors of cassis and ripe black fruits, espresso, mocha, and molasses with subtle oak in influence. It is a deep, structured wine with excellent fine-grain tannin.

St. Supéry’s Rutherford Estate Vineyard surrounds the winery in the celebrated Rutherford wine growing region along Highway 29. Thirty-five acres are planted with red Bordeaux varieties: cabernet sauvignon, merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc. With three soil types and an elevation of 154 feet, Rutherford Estate Vineyard enjoys a Mediterranean climate of warm days, cool nights and a long, dry growing season. These conditions are ideal for our red Bordeaux varieties, which are used for our estate red blend, Élu, as well as St. Supéry’s Rutherford Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc — three of our exceptional single vineyard bottlings.
Rutherford Estate Vineyard is on the “Rutherford Bench” of mineral-rich alluvial soils of sandy clay loam from the Mayacamas Mountains. Located in the northeastern hills of Napa Valley, our Dollarhide Estate Ranch is a valley within a valley and has 1,530-plus acres, 500 planted to the vineyard. The oldest vines at Dollarhide Estate, now more than 30 years old, produce the full-bodied, robust cabernet sauvignon and distinctive sauvignon blanc wines upon which St. Supéry’s reputation was built. Vineyard elevations ranging from 600 to 1,100 feet above sea level, seven different soil series, 13 soil variations and unique microclimates, combine at Dollarhide to create an especially accommodating growing environment for Bordeaux grape varieties.
Our winemaking and vineyard team have a broad selection of soils and topography to choose from when selecting ideal vineyard sites at Dollarhide. Each parcel is planted with fruit quality and distinct character in mind. These parcels are then farmed individually so that the vines will thrive in their distinctive locations. Our team is able to match the right soils with the optimum combination of rootstock, clone selection and cultivation practices. The diversity of terrain results in a wide selection of fruit characteristics with which our winemakers work in producing estate sauvignon blanc and cabernet sauvignon, estate blends and the Dollarhide Estate single vineyard wines.
The majority of the property thrives in its natural state with a diverse collection of flora and fauna including ducks, geese, cranes, egrets, jackrabbits, owls, bees, foxes, osprey, otters, bobcats and thousands of largemouth bass. The ranch is home to more than 1,200 heirloom fruit trees comprised of 190 varieties or 87 peach, 34 nectarine, 20 apple, 12 plum and 16 Pluot. A limited and seasonal release of the heirloom preserves is often available at the winery.

The 2017 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful and dense wine, with blue and black fruit aromas followed by savory notes of grilled herbs and sweet tobacco. Initially, notes of blueberry compote and baker’s chocolate give way to beautiful oak aromas of cedar and baking spice. On the palate bramble blackberries, red currants, and Chambord are met with flavors of black clove, vanilla, and graphite. This wine exhibits depth, nuance, and energy, and will be cellar-worthy for many, many years to come.
Thirty majestic acres in the heart of Napa Valley – once a welcoming landmark for the Pony Express – is now home to the Sinegal Estate Winery. The philosophy of our founders, Jim & David Sinegal, is to honor both tradition and innovation. Still aging in mostly in new Taransaud barrels, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, and 3% Malbec) offers a saturated purple color as well as a big perfume of black and blue fruits, espresso, some background oak, full body, a silky, charming mid-palate, and sweet tannins. It's not going to match the 2016, but it’s a pure, seamless, powerful and incredibly impressive 2017.

Intense was the first word that came to mind. Purely focused tannin weaves its way through the core of this wine. Has a savory characteristic that we have found in past vintages (2014 to be specific) with a slight licorice note on the exceptionally long finish. While this vineyard has been described as “feminine” in the past, that is certainly not the case for this bigger, bolder vintage!

Dr. Loosen Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese is made from 100 percent Riesling.
An endlessly energizing late-harvest Riesling from a selection of botrytis-affected grapes harvested in the “sundial” vineyard. This precipitously steep, rocky vineyard consistently yields some of the most elegant and sophisticated white wines in the world. Auslese means “selected from the harvest,” and is a luscious sweet wine made from very ripe clusters that are about 50 percent affected by botrytis. The resulting wine is dense, intensely flavored and rich on the palate, but retains the elegant structure that is characteristic of this great site.

Rich, but very elegant and creamy with beautiful, peachy character and lovely, floral-honey notes. Long, very silky finish. Drink or hold.

J. Davies Nobles Vineyard Pinot Noir is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
The 2020 Nobles Vineyard Pinot Noir’s aroma elegantly opens with blueberry compote, dark cherry and dried citrus peels, followed with a touch of baking spice and a hint of forest floor. The palate’s bright entry leads to notes of cranberry, red raspberry and a sprinkle of black tea, while a crisp acidity supports silky tannins to a clean finish.
Review:
Bountiful black-cherry flavors and good balance make this full-bodied wine difficult to resist. Black-fruit flavors are rich and well concentrated, backed by a light touch on the oak spices that emerge on the finish and add nice complexity.

This carries the forest green scent of the far-coast hills, a savory pinot noir with mineral intensity. The wine’s cherry-red fruit ripens on the eastern, leeward slopes of the second ridge in from the Pacific, that ripeness tamed by an earthy evergreen scent lasts for minutes, as if breathing the air at the edge of a redwood grove.
