Trouillet Lebeau Macon Solutre Pouilly is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.
The Macon-Solutre-Pouilly is produced from the 2 hectare-parcel called "Au Rompay", which is the highest of the estate, located at the southern tip of the Mâconnais in the Mont Pouilly, across the famous Solutré Rock. The grapes are usually harvested in the very last days, bringing freshness and minerality to the wine.
The nose opens generously with sweet notes of candied and citrus fruits. The maturity and ripeness of the fruit combine with an aromatic freshness and a real delicacy in the mouth. The wine is structured, but still lively on the finish.
Review:
Reserved aromas of Golden Delicious apple, Forelle pear and honeysuckle open on the nose rounded out by a light dusting of baby's breath. The palate is firm with a texture of wet stone that rests on a balanced blanket of acidity. Pair with lighter dishes and seafood. — Anna-Christina CABRALES

Trouillet Lebeau Pouilly-Loche Les Mures is made from 100% Chardonnay.
Pouilly Loché is the smallest appellation in the Mâconnais (33 hectares). The climate called "Les Mures" is located on a hillside, facing east, overlooking the Saône Valley at an altitude of 250 meters, in the village of Loché, 5 kilometers south-east of Mâcon. Loché has been a site devoted to vines since the Roman times. Excavations during the construction of the TGV station, which puts this vineyard 1 hour 40 minutes from Paris and Geneva, revealed the foundations of a large villa. Thereafter, the vine flourished under the influence of the monks of Cluny, who are reminded of the magnificent 12th century octagonal bell tower behind which the rocks of Solutré and Vergisson stand out.
The wine offers delicate and precise aromas of ripe yellow fruits. Dense, fleshy and fruity in the mouth with a fresh menthol finish.
Trouillet Lebeau Pouilly-Vinzelles Les Quarts is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.
The wine comes from a very small parcel located in the climate of "Les Quarts" benefiting from an eastern exposure that is perfectly suited to Chardonnay, allowing early harvests and giving rich and powerful wines. Neighboring the archaeological complex of Solutré, the Vinzelles appellation is based on the same Jurassic (Bathonian and Bajocian) rocks that crown the Mâconnais mountains.
Rich aromas of peach, apricot and grapefruit, evolving with age towards fresh almond, hazelnut, honey, quince or toasted bread. This Pouilly-Vinzelles "Les Quarts" balances its natural minerality with fatness and opulence.

Gold in color, robust aromas of candied apple, caramel, spiced white peach and dried orange zest unfurl in the glass lifted by freshly-slice quince. The palate is an intriguing mix of tart-and-ripe orchard fruit that wraps around white tea and crushed stone. Trouillet Lebeau St. Veran Les Condemines is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.
The wine comes from 70-year-old vines that are ideally located on a south-facing slope in the village of Leynes, on a clay-limestone terroir. Aged 100% in Burgundy barrels, offering a fruity, powerful and charming wine. Beautiful expressive aromas of ripe yellow fruits. Rich, generous, full, crisp and well-balanced on the palate.
Dominique Piron Beaujolais Morgon Aux Pierres is made from 100% Gamay.
A mineral wine with fine tannins reflecting a perfume of concentrated dark fruits.
A small plot of vines of 85 ares acquired by Dominique Piron's grandfather in 1932. Registered on a place called "Aux Pierres", it is well named due to its blue stones, very typical of the Côte du Py. Year by year, the quality of the harvest has made it an emblematic plot of Piron's family. Elite of the domain, this special cuvee is produce only in case of exceptional vintage. It's a cuvee that can be kept for more than 10 years.

From a small parcel on the Côte de Py slope, a fine, mineral charged example which delivers plenty of terroir feel, along with a savoury, concentrated and weighty palate. Aux Pierres is only produced in the best vintages. 100% de-stemmed and matured in barrel for 18 months, gives a polished, glossy feel to the wine. A fine example from the Côte de Py.

This deep and powerful Morgon is just beginning to give its best. The spicy oak is there, but well integrated with the plum and blackberry fruit. Very good balance on the generous front palate, but at the back the richness makes a bold statement and the tannins just hold it in check. With a shade less ripeness this would be even more impressive. Drink or hold.

Avennia Sestina Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc.
The story of this wine - The Sestina is an ancient form of poetry from Medieval France. Just as a modern poet can fill this form with new expressions, Avennia uses the traditional Bordeaux blend to express Washington. Sestina is their vision for an old vine, complex blend where all of the components complement each other. This wine is designed for the cellar, so the emphasis is on structure, balance, and complexity.
Winemaker Tasting Notes - “Good deep ruby/garnet color, with aromas of black cherry, fresh black currant, dark mocha, cigar box, and graphite. The palate is lively and dense with mountain berries, mocha, vanilla honey, damp earth, and wildflowers. The finish shows a distinct chalky minerality and beautiful tension. The Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated release from Peterson, the 2017 Sestina comes from the Red Willow, Bacchus, and Dionysus vineyards. Rocking levels of crème de cassis, sappy herbs, violets, and cedar pencil all flow to a full-bodied, incredibly pure, polished 2017 that offers flawless balance, ripe tannins, and a great, great finish. It's more approachable than normal yet is still going to evolve for 15 to 20 years. The blend is 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, all raised 20 months in 50% new French oak.

With a focused and delineated nose, the 2017 Sestina is bold and complex with aromas of blackberry preserves, spiced plums, dark cherry skins and elegant tones of vanilla, baking spices, baked earth, dried herbs and bitter dark chocolate. Full-bodied, the wine is generous and expressive, showing layers that evolve with intensity, expressing flavors of chocolate dark, fruit compote and elegant oak spices before displaying an inky mid-palate. The wine has a long, drawn-out finish that continues to evolve, revealing many of its secrets with vanilla and cinnamon over graphite with juicy plums and blackberry essence. Wow! Give it a few more years in the cellar before opening.

Bright, dark red with ruby tones. Musky aromas of redcurrant, spices, olive and flowers, plus a hint of graphite minerality that Chris Peterson says comes from Bacchus Vineyard. Wonderfully silky, thick and round without being heavy, offering complex flavors of redcurrant, minerals, spices, saddle leather and shoe polish lifted by notes of wild herbs and flowers. There's also a peppery nuance here that does not come across as green. Perhaps a bit more open-knit than the 2016 version was a year ago, but this beauty still has more to show. (Incidentally, Chris Peterson told me that he does not plan to release his 2017 Red Willow Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon until the fall of 2020.) Maison Patricia Raquin is a negociant based in Savigny-les-Beaunes in the heart of Burgundy. Patricia and her husband, Alain, have been in the business for decades and they have developed some incredible relations with producers all over Burgundy. The selection process is quite similar to what we would do with our own brand Rubus. Most of the wines come from incredible vineyard sites and from growers are associated with outstanding quality. The dogs shown on the labels are Borzois, which means 'fast' in Russian. They are also called Russian Wolfhounds; a breed similar to greyhounds. Patricia and Alain are proud owners of 2 Borzois, who, as depicted on the label, guard their vaulted aging cellar inside their house.

The 2024 Far Niente Winery Estate Bottled Chardonnay is a white wine from California known for its buttery and complex style, made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the Coombsville region. It features notes of citrus, melon, and pear, with a silky texture and a long, elegant finish that is complemented by hints of spice from oak aging.
Review:
This has a good core of fruit with an underlying power that will unravel with time in the bottle. Aromas of lemon confit, oak spices, vanilla and pastry. The rounded, phenolic palate is cut with a bright line of acidity, leading to a generous, concentrated finish. Drink or hold.

Pago de los Capellanes El Nogal is made from 100% Tempranillo.
A single-vineyard wine from the “El Nogal” parcel in the town of Mambrilla de Castrejón, grown at 850 meters (2,750 feet) above sea level. A hillside of tinto fino vines a short distance from the winery, with uninterrupted views of the Duero and the wind stirring the airy branches of the great walnut tree that guards the vineyard. Its sandy, stony soils, a sense of harmony and a special microclimate all seem to enhance the talent of its surroundings.
We have vinified the evocative grapes of this plot for the past several years to produce an endlessly charming wine — overwhelming, powerful and exquisite, with a vitalising force.
Review:
Walnuts, chocolate and dark fruit with a touch of thyme. The palate is full-bodied, with a luscious expression of fruit and fine-grained tannins, all retaining a broad sense of harmony. Drink or hold.
