Growing up, Rodney's father farmed grapes, cherries and kiwi which inspired the entreprenurial spirit of the third-generation Lodi grower to one day farm his own way. In 1985, he and his wife, Gayla, bought 40 acres of Old Vine Zinfandel-the same land where the winery sits today. The first plot was on Peltier Road, just north of Lodi. Instead of naming the Winery after themselves, they honored the road that led them to those gnarly vines and would eventually become the winery’s foundation.
Rod Spent 15 years building his reputation for quality grapes while growing his custom harvest business. A year with a surplus of grapes brought on the idea to build a custom crush facility, and a Best of Class award at the California State Fair for a 2005 Petite Sirah began the bottle side of their business. Today, they farm over 1,000 acres of Estate Grown, Certified Sustainable grapes with a focus on growing for quality.

Collier Creek Big Rooster Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Teroldego.

Collier Creek Spring Willow Sauvignon Blanc is made from Sauvignon Blanc.

Spring Willow Sauvignon Blanc is a delicious example of how well balanced Sauvignon Blanc from Lodi can be. The wine has citrus and lemongrass aromas, with a light and crisp mouthfeel and a refreshing finish.

The grapes for this wine come from loamy, well-drained soils on our estate vineyard. Dijon and Wente clones are fermented in stainless steel and aged in French oak. This is an elegant chardonnay with a focused mid-palate and the refreshing cool climate acidity characteristic of Sea Smoke Vineyard.
Tasting Notes An elegant Chardonnay with aromas of lemon curd, star fruit, fresh cut peach and wet stone. Complemented by satsuma mandarins and a touch of hazelnut in the focused mid-palate and the refreshing cool climate acidity of our estate vineyard. Winemaking Our estate-grown Chardonnay fruit was picked and hand-sorted in the vineyard before spending the night in our cold room. Chilled grapes were softly pressed and the juice was gently pumped into a stainless steel tank and cold settled. Once the heavy solids were removed, the juice was racked to a stainless steel fermenter, then inoculated for primary fermentation. Following primary fermentation, the wine was racked to barrels, inoculated for malolactic fermentation, then periodically stirred to enhance depth and mouthfeel. The 2023 Sea Smoke Chardonnay was aged for a total of 10 months prior to bottling with no fining and no filtration.
K Vintners King Coal 2020 is Cabernet Sauvignon with 24% Syrah, the 2020 King Coal Stoneridge Vineyard is firmer, darker and fresh with notes of pencil shavings and a juicy and generous core of spicy dark fruits, with delicate dusty red flowers, delightful brown baking spices and dark berries. Full-bodied, fresh and still tight, this will be released in September of 2023. Buy it, put it directly into your cellar, and forget about it for at least four years. It will go the distance; just be patient. Made from 100% whole-cluster grapes, the wine aged in 60% new French oak for 22 months. Bravo!
