Zanon Pinot Noir Russian River is made from 100% Pinot Noir.
Zanon Pinot Noir is a classic example of a stylish wine made from the cooler-climate region of the famed Russian River Valley. The wine exudes typical vibrant black cherry aromas along with a dash of allspice in an elegant fashion. A silky layered texture is framed by lovely acidity and lower tannic structure. Enjoy this wine in its youth.
Five separate Pinot Noir vineyards contributed to this wine from the famed and beautiful Russian River Valley AVA. Cool evening fog from the nearby Pacific Ocean help to develop full flavors and preserve its vibrancy, natural acidity, and pureness.
Pairs with salmon, tuna, pork, mild sausages, turkey, duck, and lamb.
Zanon Wine Portfolio is the creation and vision of Columbus, Ohio resident Scott Zanon, who spent 16 years in the wine industry.
2011 was the first vintage with 400 cases produced and all for the State of Ohio. The wine was introduced in February of 2014. You will notice the Dry Creek appellation prominently displayed on the front label. In his eyes, Dry Creek Valley is the best spot in the world to grow Zinfandel…period. The 2013 bottling debuts the words “Old Vine” on the front label as the vineyard source is 40+ years old. The newly released 2016 vintage represents the fifth vintage and production continues at around 400 cases.
Today, all the fruit comes from a four generation (92 years), family owned winery (Pedroncelli Winery).
Pinea is made from 100 percent Tempranillo. 30 months, new French oak barrels
PINEA is born of the founders desire to make a wine on a par with the world’s finest. Its name is inspired by a beautiful and majestic Pinus Pinea tree, which is probably one of the oldest and tallest in the region. Surrounded by old vines, it has been witness to centuries of history.
PINEA is a hand-made, artisanal wine made with the heart. Crafted with care and respect for its origins, it also faithfully reflects the terroir and the passion of everyone involved in its creation. It is made from old vines, grown on clay-loam terrain at high altitude. Our winery is characterized by its minimal intervention approach to precision viticulture, key to ensuring that the grape is able to express itself fully.
PINEA is aged in and blended from new fine-grained French oak barrels of medium toast, which respect the fruit during the ageing process. Perfection is sought at each and every stage of winemaking, in order to successfully create a wine in which fruit plays a leading role, integrated with the complexity of oak. A unique wine. Elegant. Subtle. Perhaps one of the very best in the world.
TOTAL PRODUCTION: LESS THAN 1,000 CASES (13,000 BOTTLES)
Appearance: It is a clean and bright, deeply colored, almost opaque, ruby red wine with a garnet rim.
Nose: It is clean and balanced, and very intense in aromas. As is typical for the varietal, it is rich in black fruit aromas, predominantly blackberry. The use of new oak gives pungent aromas of bitter chocolate, coffee, cedar and smoky notes that give length and depth.
Palate: It has a powerful attack, which fills and envelops the palate from start to finish. Full-bodied, it has high tannins and considerable alcohol, although both are very well integrated. It is perfectly balanced on its passage through the mouth, leaving flavors of black forest fruits, blackberries and spices such as clove and black pepper. It leaves a long, harmonious aftertaste. It all comes together in a finish of smoky, slightly bitter notes, which give it great length and a persistence that lasts a long time after drinking. A complex, well-balanced wine that shows the full potential of oak-aged Tempranillo.
Very highly polished, international plush style. Bold, toasty oak, balanced by crunchy blue fruit. Ripe, intense, harmonious, has mile of age to last. - International Wine Challenge 95 Points(Gold Metal & named one of three best tempranillos in all of Spain)
As dense and dark as a young vintage port, but much less alcoholic, this is a concentrated and elegant Ribera del Duero that has a long, polished finish. Drink or hold. - James Suckling 93 Points
Arzuaga Ribera del Duero Crianza 95% Tempranillo and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

"Medium-to full-bodied, round-tannined and juicy. Some new wood showing through. Succulent, fruity finish. Drink and enjoy."

Pinea 17 is made from 100 percent Tempranillo
A 100% Tempranillo red wine, elegant and with a long and persistent finish. The personality of the Ribera del Duero and the passion of its craftsmen are reflected in every sip of 17.
The vines selected for the production of this wine are more than 30 years old and belong to some vineyards that are located in the highest areas of the Ribera del Duero, around 3,050 feet elevation.
The weather and the altitude of the area make our grape productions smaller than in the rest of the region, but the grapes we obtain are of higher quality and with a more concentrated flavor. These are the characteristics that demand the grape to give its best, helping us to produce a wine that reflects the personality of the Ribera del Duero.
17 celebrates the year 2017, a very important year in the life of our winery due to the major events that took place then, including the commercial debut of our flagship wine, PINEA. reflects the careful attention to detail in viticulture that characterizes our winery; by aging in American and French oak barrels for 18 months, the Tempranillo grapes express a sense of origin that is a worthy reflection of the Ribera del Duero
"17" by Pinea captures the elusive combination of intense concentration and lifted, complex aromatics that distinguishes the best Ribera del Duero wines. The lifted aromatics and elegant, supple body of "17" by Pinea is particularly appealing and a departure from the more aggressive, heavily extracted style typically found in wines from the region. To enhance the perfumed aromatics, decant for about 30 minutes before serving at a cool 60 degrees and use a Burgundy stem. Enjoy now and in the next 10-15 years with hearty dishes like lamb-chops, any kind of steak and game food and as stated by Master Sommelier Ian Cauble: "celebrate getting in on the ground floor of one of Spain's most exciting new wine ventures."
Appereance: The wine displays an opaque garnet-red core with hints of light purple at the rim.
Nose: The nose is regal and highly perfumed, expressing the classic fruit profile of Tempranillo with its own unique finesse very reminiscent of fine Burgundy. Black forest fruits, plum, and blueberry dominate with hints of light accents of vanilla, cacao nibs and cedar playing a supporting, background role.
Palate: The palate broods with fresh plum and berry compote laced with high-toned red fruits. The wine has broad shoulders, but also soft edges with chalky tannins and a lively mineral acidity driving a long and supple finish.
CONCHA Y TORO Cabernet Sauvignon Puente Alto Don Melchor is made from 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, and 1% Merlot.
This very elegant wine presents tremendous aromatic expression with a predominance of small red fruit notes. It starts smooth and is friendly on the palate and continues with perfectly balanced flavours and a long finish, where the balance and delicacy of the tannins reappear with great expression of this vintage’s lively fruit.
Complex, with crushed mineral notes to the intense dark currant, cherry tart and Christmas pudding flavors. Shows good cut midpalate, featuring a long, burnished finish of dried meat, smoke and spice.—Non-blind Don Melchor vertical (January 2020). Drink now through 2034. 7,635 cases made, 1,600 cases imported. — Wine Spectator 95 Points
Tuck Beckstoffer Mad Hatter Napa Valley Red is made from 66%Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Old Vine Petit Sirah, 10% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot.
Under the winemaking and farming direction of Shawn Johnson and Tuck Beckstoffer, vineyard blocks were selected with a blend of micro climates and soils to highlight the best Napa Valley has to offer, creating a wine with complex aromas, purity of fruit, balance, and a long silky finish.
Since the beginning of Mad Hatter in 2003, our goal has been to craft an elegant Bordeaux blend using grapes grown throughout the Napa Valley. The 2018 vintage continues this commitment, with a sophisticated blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Old Vine Petite Sirah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc.
Expressive aromas of black plum, wild hyacinth, and clove. The palette evolves flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate, and baking spice further enhanced by the wine’s velvety tannins, and long delicate finish. Pair this wine with pan roasted pheasant, grilled root vegetables, or a charred Ribeye steak.
Russian River Pinot Noir Cuvee is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir
The thought of this blend is to showcase the harmonious nature of all Russian River vineyards together and how well they can complement each other. This is an elegant blend of wines from five of Russian River vineyards with a unique flavor that they consider to be the essential “Russian River Valley” wine. This wine is a striking complement to their traditional single vineyard approach. It affords them the luxury to mix & match the distinct characteristics and flavor profiles from the various vineyards. And it is anything but your traditional “blend”. Because it is made exclusively from premium single vineyard wines, they think it is a cut above typical Cuvées. Case in point: 35% of this blend was aged in new french oak barrels, a level you will rarely, if ever, see in a Cuvée. Even better, this wine is an incredible every day value!
This is a spicy, lush, and bright wine with notes of cherry.
"A pinot with plenty of dried berry, cherry, smoke and spice. Some cedar and mahogany undertones as well. It’s medium-to full-bodied with a creamy texture and a flavorful, savory finish. Drink or hold."
- James Suckling (November 2020), 92 pts

Balanced, elegant, fruit forward, lush, soft, sleek, lasting finish, velvet, bright fruit, great acidity, cranberry, tart berry.
Russian River Pinot Noir Horseridge is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
This Pinot Noir’s full, yet delicate quality makes it a highly sought-after wine. A multiple award winner. Horseridge Vineyards lies just 8 miles from the Pacific Ocean on an east facing slope facing the Mayacamas Mountains. The cool night breeze preserves the acidity in the grapes while the warm summer day allows the vines to produce just the perfect amount of sugar in each cluster.
Four consecutive vintages of ultra-premium quality fruit has marked Horseridge Vineyards as a consistently excellent source of Pinot Noir grapes. Feminine in style, balanced, elegant, fruit forward, lush, soft, sleek, lasting finish, velvet, bright fruit, great acidity, blueberry, cranberry, tart berry not over ripe fruit. This Pinot will age beautifully over the next 8-10 years!
"I like the purity of fruit to this with sweet and dried berries on the center palate. It’s full-bodied and layered with fine tannins and a delicious, savory and fruity finish. Just a hint of toasted oak at the end. Drink or hold."
- James Suckling (November 2020), 92 pts

Russian River Pinot Noir Stony Point is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
he wine is produced from a vineyard in the Sebastopol Hills neighborhood of the Russian River Valley, less than twenty miles from the coast where the climate is affected daily by the ocean, wind and its fog. This cool climate, combined with the sun exposure provided by a southern-facing hillside vineyard, creates a low yielding, slow ripening environment which is perfect for Pinot Noir. The balance of fruit and minerality shows beautifully in this easy-drinking crowd pleaser! The result is a wine with especially bright acidity which is perfectly balanced with tart, bing cherry accents, earthy notes, forest floor, mushroom, hints of smoke. Rich and creamy on the palate, this is an excellent example of a classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.
Octopoda Pinot Noir Russian River is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
10 months in 40% new French oak
Beautiful garnet color with aromas of bing cherry, red raspberry, baking spice and subtle vanilla notes. On the palate, flavors are of concentrated red and blue fruit, with a core of cherry and dark raspberry with purple violet floral notes. Medium bodied with balanced acidity that lifts the flavors
When we consider the potential of a piece of land to grow world-class wine, we immerse ourselves in the physical characteristics of soil type, depth, texture and drainage, slope aspect, sun exposure, et cetera—myriad complex details. On site potential alone, Jentoft likely sits at the top of our entire vineyard portfolio.
The site’s coastal marine soils are remarkably shallow with underlying sandstone bedrock poking through the topsoil. Lean, “boney” soils generally yield low-vigor vines and powerful wines, and that’s what we have here. The potential is incredible, and now that these vines are mature, we’re seeing the promise realized.
Our new vintage of Jentoft Vineyard Ryan Pinot Noir is highly evocative of this steep hillside site high in the coastal mountains surrounded by the forest. To me, it represents the essence of coastal Russian River Pinot Noir: intensity, vibrancy, deeply pitched fruits with pulsating acidity and an incredible length of flavor. We’ve bottled Ryan Pinot Noir from several sites since 2002 , and this is the pinnacle of achievement for this wine so far.
The wine opens with a sense of tiny dark intense wild berries, tart and explosive, pine needle freshness and hints of cedar amplifying the aromas. The palate is sappy, dark and elevated with Rainier cherry, cassis and huckleberry fruits. There’s laser-like intensity to the wine’s driving flavors as they expand along the dry, firm palate, exotic floral, gravelly nuances extending the lingering finish. No need to decant. Drink between 2020 and 2027.
Moving to the Pinot Noirs, this is easily the finest lineup I've tasted from Andy Smith. These are magical wines that check in at the top of the vintage. The 2018 Pinot Noir Jentoft Vineyard Ryan comes from the Russian River Valley and was all destemmed and spent 15 months in 40% new French oak. This is classic Pinot Noir all the way with its ripe black raspberry, baking spices, forest floor, background oak, and earth. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and concentrated on the palate, it's seamless, flawlessly balanced, and has a great, great finish. It's a stunning example of world-class Pinot Noir to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years or so. - Jeb Dunnuck 98 Points
Betz Family La Serenne Syrah is 100% Syrah
La Serenne is the most reflective of the site/vintage dynamic of our three single-site 2012 Syrahs. Lovers of this wine know that its source, the Boushey Vineyard, is the highest altitude of the three vineyards and is typically the latest harvested. This cool site was accentuated by the cooler season and the results reflect the seriousness of this vineyard and its care.
An extraordinary, nearly impenetrable black purple color leads to a concentrated, inky aromatic impression: smoky black cherry and wild blackberry dominate, but a litany of supporting aromas is already emerging: smoke, violet, mushroom, roasted meat, Chinese 5 spice and minerals. It has a full attack on entry and a big, rich mouthfeel that goes on and on.
2012 is our 13th harvest from this site and these rows. We continue to be impressed with the chameleon nature of this vineyard, in cool years and hot, in heat spikes and cool springs: it provides us with surprises and opportunities at every harvest. While the themes of deep black fruits and pliant structure always surface, the nuance of this vineyard and its care (thank you, Dick Boushey) make it some of the most satisfying fruit we work with every harvest.
"The pure, elegant and textured 2014 Syrah la Serenne offers that classic violet and floral characteristics of the cuvee, as well as medium to full-bodied richness, lots of black raspberry fruit, fine, sweet tannin and a great finish. It’s not as powerful or concentrated as the La Cote Rousse, yet it’s a joy to drink and will cruise for a decade or more on its balance and purity. - Jeb Dunnuck"

Bressia Profundo is made from 50% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 10% Syrah
Profundo began during the era of “assemblages” in Argentina; wines from various grapes combined in different proportions, achieving a singular, complete wine with great definition.
The Malbec, the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Syrah come from Lujan de Cuyo vineyards 3,100 feet above sea level. Planted 6,500 plants per hectare.
Intense red color with purple tones. Delicate strawberry, blackberry aromas intertwined with chocolate, tobacco, dulce de leche and vanilla nuances. Harmonious and elegant in the mouth with a long finish.
"Profundo is an Agrelo/Vista Flores blend of Malbec with the remaining 50% made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Ripe, plush, glossy and assertively oaked in 50% new wood, this is a wine that still needs a year or two in bottle. Plum, blackberry and mocha flavours combine appealingly on the palate."
