Chateau Hallet Sauternes 2022 is made from 100% Sémillon.
This classic Sauternes shows delicate aromas of honey, citrus, candied fruit and acacia. The 375ml half bottle is an ideal pour for two — a match not only for desserts but also for foie gras, roast meats and blue cheeses, and a delicious aperitif served well chilled.

The wine boasts an intense, deep and lively red color. The nose offers black fruit, blackberry, cigar box, licorice, some delicate and integrated oak flavors as well. The mouth is full of fruit flavors, spice and fine toasty flavors. The structure is rich, but the tannins are well integrated already. The finish is long and a slight mintiness give the wine a great length and some purity.
Pairs great with meat and vegetables on the grill.

The 2019 Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux Vieilles Vignes has a terrific nose of classic limestone-influenced red and black fruits as well as leather, truffly earth, and tobacco notes. This medium-bodied, round, balanced Castillon has ripe tannins, good mid-palate depth, and a solid finish. The blend is 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc, aged 12 months in used barrels. The 2019 d'Aiguilhe has a really lovely bouquet of ample black cherry, mulberry and light floral scents, very pure and delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with cedar-infused red fruit. While not as exuberant as the aromatics, this is nicely detailed and quite poised on the finish. No, I still cannot pronounce its name, but this Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux is well worth seeking out. - Neal Martin

Black cherries, spicy oak, chalky minerality, and hints of white truffle all emerge from the 2019 Château D'Aiguilhe, an elegant, beautifully balanced, seamless 2019 from the Castillon region. Notes of candied fruit, dried figs, currants marked by their delicacy despite the sensation of great maturity. On the palate, we find this aromatic range with present but very velvety tannins.
Ageing: partially in new oak barrels, partially 1 and 2 years old barrels and stainless steel tanks.Vinification: thermo-regulated concrete tank.

Ample palate, sweet and ripe fruit balanced by good level of freshness, grainy tannin and a long fleshy finish with some chalky notes. Well done and ambitious, a bit marked by oak today but should soften from further ageing.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Kingly Project is fabulous. A wine of vertical power and thrust, the 2019 soars out of the glass, showing magnificent intensity from start to finish. Black cherry, scorched earth, licorice, plum and chocolate give this substantial Cabernet tons of complexity. I would cellar the 2019 for at least a few years to allow the tannins to soften. -
