Fresh, harmonious and nicely balanced in the mouth with a solid tannic structure and good acidity that promises a long aging potential. The mid-palate is pleasant with a nice density of fruit. "A big-time sleeper of the vintage, this huge property, sandwiched between Cantemerle and Giscours, has released a blend of 50% Merlot and the rest primarily Cabernet Sauvignon with dollops of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. There are 17,500 cases of the 2005, undoubtedly the finest wine ever made at this estate. It possesses a dark ruby/purple hue as well as an exotic, flamboyant, fruity bouquet of black cherries, wood smoke, tobacco, and spice. Lush, round, and opulent, it is ideal for drinking over the next 5-6 years."
- Wine Advocate (Aug. 2008), 89 pts
"Sexy aromas of raspberry liqueur, coffee and smoke, plus a tarry nuance. Rich, broad and dense, in an extractive modern style. This boasts an almost liqueur-like ripeness,"
- Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (June 07), 89 pts
"Medium-bodied, with medium tannins and a delicate finish."
- Wine Spectator (Web 08)
"It comes from a huge southern Medoc estate that is part of the high-quality Haut Medoc group of chateaux called Biturica. The wine offers chocolate, toasty oak, and black cherry characteristics in its medium-bodied, deep, modern, up-front, appealing style. Drink it over the next five to six years."
- R. Parker, Business Week Online (Sep. 06)
"Expressive nose. Brimming with soft, dark fruits, spice and warm oak. The nose is echoed on the palate with big yet approachable tannins. 5-10 years."

The Cambon la Pelouse Estate
Cambon la Pelouse is located in Macau, between Chateau Giscours and Chateau Cantemerle, just outside the Margaux appellation. Mr de Cambon founded the estate during the French Revolution. Annick and Jean-Pierre Marie took it over in 1996 and made some great investments to renovate the property.
The Cambon la Pelouse Vineyard
The vineyard spreads over 60 hectares of vines with an average of 30 years. The soil is made of fine and larger gravel from the quaternary period.
The vineyard is farmed under the "culture raisonnee" method (sustainable). Hand-harvesting, pruning, thinning out of the leaves, green harvesting, destemming ensure the perfect quality of the grapes.
Winery Notes:
Each year, we set aside the best barrels of our Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley to produce Special Selection. Distinguished by extremely fine, velvety tannins and enjoyable upon release or with aging. A wine of structure with intense concentration of supple flavors and dark fruits. Special Selection is the only wine in the world honored twice as Wine Spectator magazine’s “Wine of the Year.”
Sainte-Marie Bourgogne Blanc Vieilles Vignes is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.
The wine has a perfect light yellow color with green hues. Nose of white flower, sweet spice and bitter orange. Fresh and delicious attack. It shows roundness and a slight buttery note with a very saline finish that makes you slightly salivate.
Excellent with Seafood, grilled fish, clams and oysters of course. Also great with goat cheese or Comté cheese.
