Ridge Zinfandel Guadagni is made from 80% Zinfandel, 20% Petite Sirah.
Jammy nose of blackberry and cassis with notes of pepper, mint and tobacco. Full-bodied on the palate with well coated tannins, black cherry fruit and a long, layered finish.
Owned and farmed by the Guadagni family for over fifty years, this vineyard grows in the rocky soils at the northern edge of the Dry Creek Valley. Planted primarily to zinfandel; petite sirah from an adjacent parcel was added this year for color and depth. We limited pump-overs to once daily and pressed after eight days of fermentation as color and tannin were plentiful.

Winemaking at Morambro Creek is very traditional and labour intensive. Oak maturation takes place using 35% new French barrels. This blend was put together using select barrels from our family estate that best demonstrate the intensity of our fruit balanced by integrated oak.

"From the small Padthaway region three hours' drive east of Adelaide, this is a full-bodied Cab that, despite the region's warm climate, avoids being bombastic. The nose feels Christmasy: baking spices laced with purple beets, dried mint and red berries. In the mouth it's ripe and generous, and there's a fair bit of oak showing but all is held at bay by taut, fine-grained tannins. Drink through 2025."

Pearmund Cellars Cameo Collection Rose is made from mostly Chambourcin with the balance being Merlot and Petit Manseng.
In 2019, Chris Pearmund worked with sixteen Virginia wineries to create a blended wine with grapes from each participating vineyard to commemorate the 400th Anniversary of Winemaking in Virginia. A portion of the wine’s proceeds were donated to museums and events that would contribute to tourism in the Commonwealth and foster a broader understanding of Virginia’s cultures and cuisines. This idea sparked another movement to celebrate through wine, and Cameo seemed a perfect way to commemorate the milestone moment in history.

Morlet Family Vineyards Billet Doux Late Harvest Semillon 2012 (half-bottle) is made from Sémillon (65%) Sauvignon Blanc (31%) Muscat à Petits Grains (4%)
rowing in the gravelly soil of an ancient riverbed in the beautiful Alexander Valley, the old vines benefit from hot afternoons and cool, foggy mornings, favorable for the development of Botrytis (Noble Rot). Extremely small yields in the Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat vineyards lead to the immensely concentrated fruit. Just as one receives a note from one’s sweetheart, we present this wine as a precious ‘Love Note’ or ‘Billet Doux.’
Deep crystal clear gold. Intense and complex bouquet of dry apricot, pêche de vigne and Reine Claude yellow plum intermixed with notes of quince, honey, Muscat and a hint of sweet vanilla. Full bodied, the palate is reminiscent of the nose, with a creamy sweet texture and a great intensity. The large amount of sugar and glycerin creates a highlighted viscosity. Along with the wine’s great concentration, richness and opulence, the classical aromatic complexity reveals a flamboyant yet harmonious ensemble, leading to a very long, complex and smooth finish.

Full-bodied, full-on sweet, rich, concentrated and oh-so-unctuous, it delivers powerful flavor layers and epic length. 175 cases were made.

HISTORY
Vibrant, delicious black raspberry and wild cherry fruit, velvety texture, and balanced crisp acidity make this wine a classic example of Dry Creek Zinfandel. As always, we make this wine from a number of small, family-owned vineyards in the center and north of the Dry Creek Valley. Since Dry Creek Valley receives coastal fog in the evening and early morning, the grapes from this area show a bright acidity which blends perfectly with the forward fruit from the vineyards, resulting in a long-lived and balanced wine.
PRODUCTION
We picked our vineyards in early- and mid-September, carefully hand-sorting the fruit before crushing the grapes to tank. We used our special custom-made gridded tanks to ferment, allowing us to submerge the cap of grape skins beneath the surface of the fermenting wine, extracting color, body, and complexity from the grapes without extracting drying tannins found in the seeds. The result are intense and complex wines that feel velvety and round on the tongue rather than harsh or tannic.
All of the wines were fermented using only the natural yeast population on the grapes—our trademark and tradition at Dashe Cellars—and the resulting wines are intriguingly complex and luscious. The wine was aged for 10 months in a older French oak barrels, including our 900 gallon French oak casks that allow us to gain the softness of oak aging without adding excessive oak flavors in the wine. All barrels were at least one year old and as old as seven years, so as to reduce the effect of oak on the fruit. In our blending trials, we added about 11% of petite sirah (for structure and aging potential).

Dashe Cellars were founded in 1996 by Anne and Michael Dashe, a husband and wife winemaking team who created a small winery that focuses on wines from Sonoma County. Since Anne's winemaking origins are French and Michael's are American, they wanted to elaborate distinctive wines that offered the best from both of their countries of origin.
The Dashe Cellars Vineyards
They have decided to concentrate on single vineyard sites - to locate small independent vineyards and create wines that reflect the vineyards unique soil, climate, and regional characteristics. They use traditional fine winemaking techniques such as small lot fermentations, the use of indigenous yeast on the grapes to conduct the fermentations, little or no fining or filtration, and small barrel aging. All the wines are made, tasted, and blended by the production team of Michael, Anne, and Matt Smith (enologist).

Checking in as a blend of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, and the rest a handful of varieties, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape was brought up in a mix of foudre and older barrels. This deep ruby/purple-hued effort has a pure, vibrant, incredibly seamless, medium to full-bodied style that carries classic notes of black raspberry and black cherry fruits as well as peppery herbs, violets, spring flowers, and sous bois. This straight-up gorgeous, seamless, ultra-fine 2019 should be snatched up by readers. It has a rare mix of elegance, purity, and power, and it’s going to have two decades of prime drinking.

El Cortijillo Tempranillo La Mancha is made from 100% Tempranillo
Up front aromas of raspberry and cherry fruit, medium to light weight, Rhône wine in character, cherry fruit flavors, followed by bright acidity. Reminds of a mythical cross between a Pinot Noir and a Côtes-du-Rhône. Pleasant and fun, bistro red.
