Palacio de Fefinanes Albarino "III Ano" is made from 100 percent Albarino
The III Año shows all the expressiveness of the Albariño grape, with full nose of mature fruit and a mineral character. Complex and meaty with firm structure in the mouth, it promises a splendid evolution which will favor a long life for this elegant wine with personality.
Aged for 3 years on the lees in stainless steel tanks.
Wine is aged for a total of 6 months: 4 months in French and American Oak barrels. No new oak, only 1, 2 and 3 year old barriques. During these 4 months, wine is aged on the fine lees with frequent Batonnage (stirring of the lees) in order to get the most expressive notes from the Albarino varietal. Then, it is transfered into a stainless steel tank, which allows the oak aromas to be assimilated and integrated.

The 2022 Albariño de Fefiñanes III Año is from the Salnés Valley, Rías Baixas. This spent one year on lees and two years in bottle. It is nutty, with wafer, baked goods and apple crumble aromas on the nose. This is fresh, intense and full on the palate, with a creamy, lees-derived texture.

The 2024 1583 Albariño de Fefinanes is aged three months on lees with bâtonnage in its own French oak barrique for three months. It has more weight, texture, and mouthfeel than the straight Albariño, fleshy and medium-bodied in green apple, citrus, and anise. A long and lengthy finish speaks to further enjoyment down the road; drink now and for another 3-5 years. Now run by the third generation, this winery is based in the palace grounds and inspired by the whites of Germany, bottling their Albariños in Riesling bottles. They are a big proponent of aging the whites.

Owner Juan Gil comments that the wine really starts to come into its own in June/July, and he actually prefers it 18 or more months after it's made. A Fefiñanes "vertical" of three or four vintages can provide some most interesting surprises.

Clos des Cazaux Gigondas Le Souiras is 100% Grenache.
“Le Souiras” is the terroir located at the very South end of the Gigondas appellation. Here, in the midst of the Dentelles de Montmirail, an extraordinary calcareous massif, we planted grapevines on slopes surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation.
We are situated at an altitude of 250 meters, where the nights are cooler. The terroir is stony with a layer of grey and blue clay under the topsoil. The slopes face West and are protected from the strong summer sun by the Montmirail hill. Due to this ideal microclimate, our old Grenache grapevines contain all the complexity and balance of this sunny terroir.
Color : Dark intense ruby color.
Bouquet : Notes of little red fruits, white pepper, caramel and juniper.
Palate : The first impression is arresting and generally qualified as round, complex and dense.
The aromas of black cherry, mocha and white pepper are very intense. The palate is powerful, elegant and velvety.
The finish is long, with very silky tannins and a very slight bitterness that gives this exceptional Grenache an impression of freshness.

The Palacio de Fefinanes Estate
Founded in 1904, Palacio de Fefinanes is housed inside a spectacular baronial palace which sits on the lovely main square of coastal Cambados. The facility was built in 1647 by vicount of Fefiñanes Gonzalo Sarmiento Valladares (1583-1659) and is currently owned by Juan Gil Careaga. Palacio de Fefiñanes was the first producer to bottle wine under the D.O. Rías Baixas denomination. The label design dates from 1928 and shows an engraving of the Fefiñanes Palace.
The winemaker is Cristina Mantilla.

The Palacio de Fefinanes Vineyards
Produced in the Rias Baixas region, where the vineyards are quite windy due to the proximity of the Atlantic Ocean. It also provides acidity and freshness to the wine. The winery has only a token acreage, and buys its Albariño grapes from producers under long-term contract and with technical assistance from the winery's enologist. They make two 100% Albariño wines: Albariño de Fefiñanes, a young traditional style Rías Baixas white (30,000 bottles/year); and 1583 Albariño de Fefiñanes, aged six months in 600 liter sherry butts (4,000 bottles/year - annual production: 100,000 liters). Year after year, local critics rate Albariño de Fefiñanes as one of the best.

The sun-kissed 2019 Reserva is 100% Tempranillo sourced from Alfaro in Rioja Oriental. With a dark garnet appearance, this wine features oaky and black fruit aromas complemented by subtle herbal notes. The palate is dry and fairly grippy, with supple tannins leading to a mid-weighted experience.

Farnio Chianti Montalbano Riserva is made from 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino.
Brilliant ruby red with plain ruby shades, fairly clear. Blackberry and violet notes emerge on the nose with spiced and vegetal tones, leading to a leathery and pencil lead finish. Elegant, pleasant, pure and intense aromas but vigorous and round. Slightly tannic and fresh, balanced and full-bodied.

An expansive sweetness grows in trajectory, with a douse of menthol at the finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.

Long Shadows Pirouette Meritage is made from Cabernet Sauvignon.
Pirouette is a classic Bordeaux blend – the 2021 is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec. Philippe Melka, named one of the top nine winemakers in the world by Robert Parker, drew on small lots from Washington State's finest vineyards to craft this red blend. Hand-harvested Cabernet was fermented in 400L French oak barrels, gently rolled throughout fermentation to integrate the oak with refined dark fruit and give the wine its silky mouthfeel; the balance fermented in stainless steel, with select lots given longer skin contact for color and mid-palate. The finished wine aged 22 months in French oak (80% new) before bottling unfiltered and unfined.
