The winery was founded in 1903 by Bartolomeo Baldi, great-great-uncle of the current owners, the brothers Guido and Gherardo Betti: the Betti family is in fact originally from Florence and in the past the cellar was the so-called country house. In 2003 Guido and Gherardo made a very important decision that would define their lives: that is, they decided to devote themselves totally to viticulture and therefore transformed what had always been the second family business into a modern winery, Guido, born in 1978, oversees the Italian Commercial and Export sectors while Gherardo, born in 1983, manages all the oenological and agronomic part
Guido and Gherardo Betti's work has always been oriented towards the highest quality, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The basic intention is to constantly enhance the innate characteristics of the wines of the territory - finesse and liveliness in the first place - without any forcing, but simply accompanying a soil that was already born perfect. The cultivation includes partial grassing and organic fertilizers (for example the plants of favette cut and buried at the time of flowering release nitrogen into the soil) and an attitude of interventionism only when it is really needed, without any forcing. Harvesting is partly manual and partly mechanical, depending on the plots.
Guido and Gherardo therefore consider themselves as custodians of a marvelous territory, which they have the duty to defend without distorting it: in their thinking, modern technologies and everything that involves innovation is absolutely looked upon with great favor, as long as it is aimed at guaranteeing a production in which every single bottle expresses personality and genuineness.

"A very fine riserva with black-cherry, walnut with some cedar aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied with lovely tension and a fresh finish. Racy and refined. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold."

Intense ruby red color. Hints of spices, fruit and flowers, a bouquet that reflects the soil on which it is born, rich in Alberese. In the mouth it is soft, with a pleasant acidity that makes the wine fresh and lively. Sweet and ripe tannins give the wine a pleasant persistence. Riserva dei Colli is an excellent expression of the Estate's Sangiovese, so much so that it bears its name.
Bordering on opulent, this red features blackberry, black currant, plum, iron and spice aromas and flavors, matched to a velvety texture. Firms up as the resonant tannins emerge, yet remains harmonious and long. Drink now through 2032. 1,700 cases made, 570 cases imported.

In Selvapiana we have been looking for years for a new place to grow Sangiovese to enhance the
differences of this vine in the Rufina area.
In 1998 the Erchi farm was purchased, in the municipality of Pontassieve, in an area of great viticultural value, of the
15 hectares, in 1999 6 hectares were planted with Sangiovese.
Impressed by the quality of Erchi's Sangiovese and above all by the diversity compared to Selvapiana,
we waited for the vineyard to ripen to bottle the first selection.

Alejandro Bulgheroni Lithology Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon.
Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate Lithology is a series of single vineyard and AVA-designated wines made from select sites within Napa Valley. Lithology Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is produced solely from fruit grown in the historic Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard planted in 1865 by W.H. Crabb and represents Oakville's famous bench land.
The 2019 Cabernet Franc Lithology Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard just shines for its bouquet, which is classic To Kalon with its floral, incense, spicy, red and black-fruited aromatics. These all flow to a medium to full-bodied, utterly seamless Cabernet Franc that’s balanced, has laser-like precision, and a great finish. This isn’t the biggest or richest wine in the lineup, but it’s Cabernet Franc in all its glory, with soaring aromatics and complexity, ample richness and texture, and a beautiful sense of finesse and elegance. It’s going to keep for 15-20 years with no issues.

Composed of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2019 Lithology Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is a barrel sample with a deep garnet-purple color. It needs a fair bit of coaxing to unlock scents of blackberry pie, warm blueberries and cassis plus suggestions of spice cake, underbrush, candied violets and chocolate box. The full-bodied palate brings forth loads of earthy layers to accent the rich, black fruits, framed by plush tannins and lovely freshness, finishing long and fragrant.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Lithology Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is one of the very finest wines I have tasted from Alejandro Bulgheroni's Napa Valley project. The 2019 To Kalon captures all the pedigree of this iconic Oakville vineyard, and yet also remains nuanced and wonderfully finessed for an intense wine. To Kalon Cabernets are rarely this elegant, but the Bulgheroni 2019 sure is.

Falletto di Bruno Giacosa Asili Riserva is made from 100 percent Nebbiolo.
Intense red garnet color with orange highlights. Notes of raspberry and wild strawberry are layered with floral aromas of rose and violet. On the palate, good structure is matched with freshness of fruit and sweet, silky tannins.
Sweet and succulent aromas of tangerines, freshly cut ripe strawberries, cherries and flowers follow through to a full-bodied palate with sleek and dense tannins that run the length of the wine and then fan out into a dense, vivid finish of fruit. It’s chewy and seriously structured with finesse and energy. Silky texture. This needs at least four or five years to come together and open.
