Review:

"55% aged in concrete and 45% in barrels, just 3% new; 60% of the wine went through malolactic fermentation. Pale gold-straw color. Pungent floral lift to the aromas of grapefruit, lime and fig. Fairly rich in texture, with an intriguing saline quality to the mineral and citrus flavors. Bright and long on the aftertaste, with lingering notes of grapefruit skin and peppery herbs. - Stephen Tanzer"

Larroque Bordeaux Blanc 2017

Larroque Bordeaux Blanc is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc

No oak.

Color : Pale yellow with green tints.
Nose : Complex aromas of white flowers, exotic fruits, citrus and boxwood, with a touch of minerality.
Mouth : Aromatic, with a nice richness and freshness. Predominant flavors of tart, crisp fruit.

Marie-Christine, the daughter of Henri Ducourt, purchased this prestigious left-bank property in 1979, which lies on the border of the Graves appellation.
The 60-hectare vineyard was rapidly replanted and the château building, which dates from 1348, was restored.
Our family now produces three different-colored wines there: red, white and rosé.

Grown on loamy-clay soil.

Harvest : Machine harvesting in the cool, early morning
Maceration : Skin-contact maceration for several hours, depending on ripeness, and pressing
Fermentation : Beginning of the cold alcoholic fermentation (12°C / 53°F) then an increase in temperature to finish the fermentation at 20°C / 68°F.

Enjoy this wine as an aperitif or during the meal with fish, seafood or chicken salad.

Floral notes of passion flower and fynbos, granadilla, gooseberry and pear on the palate along with an underlying minerality which gives this unique terroir driven wine its signature.

Review:

"The 2016 Barrel Fermented Sauvignon Blanc, which was in 500-liter barrels and one concrete egg for nine months, has a lovely, quite complex bouquet of melted wax, crushed stone and grilled walnut scents; hints of gooseberry develop with time. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, delivering a satisfying citric attack with plenty of salinity on the brisk finish. Excellent.- Neal Martin"
