Gamba Zinfandel Family Ranches 2014

Sourced from several sites in the heart of the Russian River Valley, the grapes are vinified in our traditional style; with an extended soaking period. The vineyard lots were fermented on the natural indigenous yeasts, each lot fermented separately to highlight the distinctive characteristics and unique distinct flavor profiles of this world famous growing region. Dark ruby-garnet in color, this classic Russian River Zinfandel shows aromas of boysenberry, raspberry, brown spices, and pepper. Medium to full-bodied, the Family Ranches Zinfandel is balanced with excellent acidity: a powerful, rich and concentrated wine, with flavors of nectarine, cherry and raspberry that build through the lingering finish. This lovely wine can be enjoyed now, and will continue to develop with bottle age over the next several years.

Trione Sonoma Coast Zinfandel Flatridge Ranch 2014

Aromas of briarwood and pipe tobacco give way to blackberry pie, toasted macaroons and plums.  The wine is velvety, supple and rich with a long, satisfying finish.  This Zinfandel, a Sonoma County classic, will continue to age for many years to come.

Flatridge Ranch is a secluded parcel in the Coastal mountain range, west of the Rockpile AVA.  Here the Trione family planted a 10 acre vineyard in 2008.  The vines are a unique Zinfandel selection called Saint Peter’s Church, whose provenance is a 100-year-old block in Cloverdale, a small town north of our Geyserville winery.   The 2013 vintage was a perfect growing season.

Cases produced:  575

Winemaking:  We fermented the grapes in small, open top fermenters, hand plunging the cap three-four times daily.  The wine aged 18 months in American oak barrels, 40% new, prior to bottling March 2015.

Black Oak White Zinfandel 2017

The Black Oak White Zinfandel is a wonderful warm weather sipper. This is sometimes called our ‘hammock wine’ for lazy days by the river.

Lovely perfume aromas that remind one of ripe melons, honeysuckle in summer, and cherry blossoms in spring. The flavors are bright and delicately sweet, with a very good balance of fresh acidity that lightens up the complex texture. The succulent flavors are of juicy tangerine, white peaches and just picked strawberries. All this with an additional hint of lemon-lime and sass that make this a very approachable and fun wine selection.

Product Description

Juicy watermelon and floral aromas and flavors are accented with citrus and red fruit. A crisp, bright and delicious wine to enjoy on a hot summer day.

Located among the verdant mountain terrain of the Sierra Nevada lies a vineyard so vast its leafy tendrils stretch far into the distant horizon. The several generations of cattle ranchers who live there are its devoted caretakers. This honest, salt-of-the-earth family are passionate wine makers and seasoned grape growers, using their expertise to cultivate the fine fruit that makes its way into every bottle of wine they lovingly produce. This strong bond between man and nature is the very essence of Helena Ranch.

Zinfadel grapes are harvested at peak of ripeness to maximize aromas, flavors and sugar levels in the berries. The juice is pressed off the skins immediatly to achieve a beautiful pink color. Cool fermentation is stopped prior to going to dryness in order to preserve fruit and melon aromas and natural sugars from the grapes.

The unique flavor and sweetness profile of this wine enables it to pair well with most Asian food, even hard to pair spicy Asian like Szechwan Chicken. Also good to have with other hard to pair spicy cuisines such as Cajun/Creole.
