A dark color red grape used for wines, Malbec is a variety that creates wines with high tannins. A Hungarian peasant is thought to have brought the grape variety throughout regions of France and thus, the variety is said to be named after him. Other evidence points to the possibility that Malbec actually went by the name Cot, and originated in northern Burgundy. This thin-skinned variety grows well in sun and heat, and ripens in the middle of the season. The Malbec variety does not grow well in cold, and has sensitivity to frost. It can add plum aromas and deep flavors when blended with other varities. Malbec creates a dark colored wine and is one of the six grapes used in the blend to create red Bordeaux wine. The variety is often used in Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and can be blended with Gamay or Cabernet Franc. These fine grapes produce wines very similar to Merlot wine and has been described as a “rustic” version of the popular wine, Merlot. This variety changes in flavor depending on the location it is grown in. In Argetine, the wines crafted with Merlot grapes include nice deep fruit and violet aromas. When cultivated in the Cahors region, these grapes yield raisin-like flavors and tobacco notes, and deep fruity flavors when grown in the United States, in Washington. The variety produces a signature dark red color and can be paired with poultry dishes, such as steak.

Bramare Lujan De Cujo Malbec is made from 100 percent Malbec.
Deep ruby red color with violet tones. Aromas of red fruit, plum, graphite and floral notes. The palate is round and balanced, with sweet and juicy tannins.
Review:
Tight, intense and layered, this full-bodied wine can be appreciated now for its cocoa, blueberry and blackcurrant flavors, but will surely improve and gain complexity with time. Aged in 20% new oak, mostly barriques. Very fine-grained tannins wrap around deep blue and black fruit, with spearmint and dark chocolate buoyed by good acidity and showing great minerality in the finish. Best from 2028.

Story Of The Rose:
Viejo Isaias, meaning "old Isaac" is the grandfather of the winemaker, Rodrigo. When Rodrigo was a boy, Isaac would take him on long walks throughout their vineyard in Mendoza. On these walks Isaac would keep a watch over the health of the vines, but more importantly he would keep a watch for the first rose of the year. Every year for 40 years, he would find the first flowered rose and bring it back to his wife, Juana. The rose on the label is a symbol of their love for each other and for the culture of Argentine wine.
Don Isaías Hernández - a man with calloused hands and tanned by the work effort. With his example he taught me that nothing is achieved without sacrifice, that is why I want to keep his spirit alive in this reserva wine. El Peral may not be on the radar of many Argentine Malbec lovers. But if you take a look at Descorchados, you will realize that here we are fans of this area, a place of gentle hills, streams and trees. This vineyard was planted in 1946, and today it delivers deliciously liquefied fruit, with hints of cherries and cassis, but above all violets and blackberries in a long and deep body. Give it at least ten years in the bottle.

Icon is a selection from the winery, that is, of the best barrels of the year, basically with Malbec that occupies 85% of the final blend. The selection is made after a year of aging in barrels. The fruit of this selection is a wine of great depth of flavors, with spicy and herbal touches and with firm, sharp and penetrating tannins. In addition, there are earthy notes that project throughout the palate. An old school wine with an austere structure. One for the Cellar.

Miau Four Gatos Locos Malbec is made from 100 percent Malbec.
Miau is the typical cry a cat makes when willing to attract attention. Made by four mad cats - Mariana, Facundo, Gabriel and Juan - from their vineyard high in Alto Gualtallary, where the sun, slopes and limestone create the best wines in Valle de Uco.
The wine boasts a very deep color, red fruit aromas, spice and herbal perfume with an intense profound mineral palate. Juicy and round tannins.

Maipe Malbec Reserve is made from 100 percent Malbec.
Maipe was the Lord of the Winds for the ancient Andean Indians. He is still called upon to clear the skies after heavy rain, or to temper the summer heat.
The nose reveals dried plum and dark fruits, exotic spices, with hints of violet and chocolate. Round and fleshy, with enticing crushed plum and boysenberry fruit enlivened by a liquorice snap note. Fresh acidity lies buried on the medium-weight, juicy finish.
The grapes are carefully chosen and fermented in small lots to preserve the vineyard identity. Alcoholic fermentation for 12 days with indigenous and selected yeasts, at temperatures of 26 and 30°C, combining, remontage, pigage and delestage in order to obtain the best quality of tannins and structure.

Cueva de las Manos translates to "Cave of Hands". There are a series of caves in Patagonia containing stenciled paintings of hands, dating back over 9,000 years ago. The caves have been named a World Heritage Site, and they are the inspiration for the label on these wines.
Cueva de las Manos Malbec is deep purple in color. Fruity intensity on the nose with floral notes. A juicy texture, mild tannins and good structure balanced by a well-integrated freshness. Clean and pure finish.

Cholila Ranch Malbec is made from 100% Malbec. The estate-grown grapes are manually harvested, carefully sorted, and destemmed. Review:
The advantages of old vines are perhaps most evident in the more difficult vintages (whether hot and dry or cool and rainy). The 2021 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is a strong effort, delivering supple, velvety waves of ripe black cherries and black raspberries. Medium to full-bodied, it's rich and concentrated without seeming at all heavy or unbalanced, finishing long and juicy. It's approximately 75% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 5% Syrah and 5% other varieties, keeping in mind that up to 15% of the old Grenache vines are actually Clairette Rose.
