Manoir du Carra Beaujolais Cru Fleurie Vers le Mont 2018

Manoir du Carra Beaujolais Cru Fleurie Vers le Mont is made from 100 percent Gamay.

Intense red color, subtle fruity and floral aromas of violet, berry and cinnamon. It also has a distinctive aroma of Peony and Lily flowers, typical of the "Sur le Mont" terroir.
It is ample in the mouth and has a lot of ripe red and black fruit flavors. The structure is full and the tannins are round and elegant.
Even better after a few years of cellaring.

Excellent with red and game meats, and cheeses.

Review:

"High-density planting adds to the concentration of this ripe wine. Black-cherry flavors burst from the glass to give both richness and a structure that will allow the wine to age. Drink from 2021. - Roger Voss"

Roland Champion Champagne Special Club Grand Cru 2012

Importer SALE!

Champagne with rich and structured aromas. Very pleasant and generous roundness, nice length in mouth. Golden color with buttery and fruity aromas. All the expression of a magnificent terroir for your most pleasurable moments.

To be a member of this Club, Champagne producers have to elaborate their Cuvées in their own facility, meaning the pressing, bottling, ridding, disgorging, etc., have to be done at the domaine/estate. Then, only the Recoltants-Manipulants are accepted. Everybody has to respect the Club’s rules to ensure the quality. These rules include: * Only vintages * Two tastings to control the quality: the first one after the blending, when the wine is still “Vin Clair” (juice) and another after the 3 years (or more) of ageing “sur lattes”. There are 26 members, each of whom can produce his Special Club with his own techniques: * blending or “monocru” (only one grape variety) * “blanc de blancs” or “blanc de noirs”; ageing from 3 to 10 years, brut or extra-brut. 4 year ageing minimum Strict selection of plots only made out of our old vineyards.

Special Club is a group of growers who taste and approve each other's chosen Champagnes before release, giving a wine with this label special cachet. This rich wine, aged for 10 years on its lees, is well textured, with fruit that still shows youth and intense apple and citrus flavors. Drink from 2022.

"The Special Club offers notes of brioche and poached pear on the nose and presents a rich, fresh palate of excellent textural richness and complexity. Finishes long and focused with hints of oyster shell and citrus. Overall, an outstanding Special Club from the superb 2012 vintage. This cuvée meets the rigorous production and tasting standards of the Club Trésors; it’s 100% old vine Chardonnay with 6 years sur latte." - I-WineReview (Champagne: Diversity and Change, January 2020), 95 pts

Review:

"Smoky pear and lemon meringue introduce the Carte Noire Blanc de Blancs. On the palate, it offers ripe citrus, rich apple in butter pastry, and an uplifting note of lemon curd with lovely mid-palate depth, fine effervescence, and brisk acidity that provides a successful counterbalance to the richness of the fruit. The finish is solidly dry with lingering rich fruit notes. All Grand Cru Chardonnay from Chouilly; spends 6+ years en tirage. Outstanding value for the price, too."

Pago de Carraovejas Ribera del Duero 2017

Pago de Carraovejas Ribera Del Duero is made from 90% Tempranillo, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Merlot

The Pago de Carraovejas Ribera del Duero vintage marks a turning point in the history of the winery. From now on, the Crianza and Reserva are unified in this wine that focuses on the terroir and character rather than the time of aging. Its renewed label reflects the three key elements of this red: origin, soul and emotion.

Pago de Carraovejas Ribera Del Duero is made with grapes grown in the Botijas River valley, and planted between 1988 and 2011. Our work over the last 30 years has been geared to handcrafted viniculture, that puts as much care as possible into the microclimate conditions and the details. We have placed particular attention on the maintenance of the soil by plant cover that already grows spontaneously. It allows us to develop the ecosystem of the valley, which we respect scrupulously, using organic fertilizer and sulfur as the sole basis of our viticulture.

Depending on which plot they come from and the time they enter the winery, the grapes may be deposited in cold chambers to prevent oxidation and preserve the aroma. We carry out a two-part selection: first on the vine, where we choose the bunches, and then on a belt in the winery, where we remove the grapes that do meet the necessary conditions. The grapes enter the winery and are transported with the assistance of gravity. The deposits are filled slowly and gently. Depending on the characteristics that we detected when tasting the grapes, we ferment them either in stainless steel deposits or French oak barrels. For years we have worked with our own yeast that has been isolated from the vines by our team. This work is also partly responsible for the Carraovejas character.

The wine was aged in barrels for around twelve months.

Review:

This offers a wealth of ripe dark berries and plums on the nose with good purity. The palate has a very juicy and concentrated feel. The tannins are nicely groomed. This holds good shape and length. Drink or hold. - James Suckling 92 Points

Product Description
Manoir du Carra Beaujolais Cru Julienas 2012 is made from Gamay

The 2005 vintage was the Sambardier family's first release of the Juliénas, the oldest Cru of Beaujolais, that was named for the famous Roman Emperor Julius Caesar.
The vineyards are located in the lieu-dit "En bottiere" on granite and schist soil types.
Young and dynamic winemaker Frederic Sambardier only produces 4,800 bottles or 400 cases (12/750ml) from 0.8 hectare (1.97 acre). The vines average over 50 years old.  Skin maceration during fermentation for 10-12 days. Finally, the wine has had 4 months of aging in foudre (large barrel). Egg white fined, the wine is bottled unfiltered.
Imported - 150 cases 6/750 ml

Tasting notes: Beautiful ruby red color. Pleasing and graceful, this full-bodied Juliénas displays spices and ripe red and black fruit aromas (red currant, blackberry). This well balanced wine shows soft tannins and a long lasting finish. Excellent now, it will show even better after a few years of cellaring.
This is a perfect match with game, poultries, white meats and cheeses or even by itself as an aperitif.

Review:

"The 2012 Julienas “Les Bottieres” comes from granite and schist soils. It is a small production from the family’s 0.8-hectare holding of 50-year-old vines and it is aged in one wooden foudre. It has an expressive bouquet with floral scents infusing the cranberry and red currant fruit that is well-defined and vivacious. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannins that are impressive for the vintage, with plenty of chewy red berry fruit lining the satisfying finish. Drink now-2019. - Neal Martin - Wine Advocate (Issue #213, June 2014), 91 pts
