Product Description

Patricia Raquin Bourgogne Blanc is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.

Patricia Raquin Bourgogne Chardonnay is made from grapes sourced in the Maconnais region. As it is located in a slightly warmer climate (as it is located 100 kilometers South compared to the Cote d'Or or Cote de Beaune), the wine tends to display more tropical notes, with elegance and freshness, with a touch less of minerality.

Winery: Patricia Raquin

Maison Patricia Raquin is a negociant based in Savigny-les-Beaunes in the heart of Burgundy. Patricia and her husband, Alain, have been in the business for decades and they have developed some incredible relations with producers all over Burgundy. The selection process is quite similar to what we would do with our own brand Rubus. Most of the wines come from incredible vineyard sites and from growers are associated with outstanding quality. The dogs shown on the labels are Borzois, which means 'fast' in Russian. They are also called Russian Wolfhounds; a breed similar to greyhounds. Patricia and Alain are proud owners of 2 Borzois, who, as depicted on the label, guard their vaulted aging cellar inside their house.

Tasting Notes Unfiltered to preserve its richness, this remarkably elegant Barbaresco offers concentrated aromas of raspberries, roses, violets, leather and spice. Full-bodied with robust flavor and firm tannins.

Food Pairing This Barbaresco pairs well with roasted meat or wild game dishes.

Review:

Fragrant and loaded with finesse, this stunner opens with enticing scents of rose, violet, perfumed berry and camphor. Smooth and extremely elegant, the vibrant, savory palate features juicy red cherry, blood orange and crushed raspberry while star anise and mineral notes suggesting rusty nail—and that's a good thing—add depth. Bright acidity and lithe tannins lend balance and seamless support. It's all about elegance and energy. Drink 2023–2030. Kerin O’Keefe
