Patricia Raquin Nuits St. Georges Vaucrains is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.

"Vaucrains" comes from old French word meaning place with very little fertility (which is very good terroir for grape production)
Nuits-Saint-Georges AOC: AOC wines since 1936, 757 acres of grapes, 97 % red wine, 3 % white wine. Nuits refers to “walnuts in the area, not night”….41 Premier Cru vineyards

Tasting Notes: Powerfull aromas with lots red wild fruits, full bodied wine with great aging potential.

VINEYARD: Gravel and Silt

HARVEST: Harvest by hand.

VINIFICATION: Harvest by hand. Traditional vinification in thermoregulated stainless steel. Pre-fermentation – temperature controlled cold maceration during 10 days. Long fermentation during which pigeages and pumping over are performed. Post-fermentation - maceration at 30°C for 5 days.

AGEING: Aged in new French oak barrels for 16 months.

Lucy and Tom have been tending the same vines for over thirty years with care and diligence. The evidence of their work and care is clear – not only in the appearance of the vineyard but the quality of fruit they produce and subsequently the wines.

tasting notes— This wine offers a full rich nose, cinnamon, cedar and musk. Great density on the palate, rich but with a focused palate as the acid holds it all in the middle so perfectly.  Flavors are explosive, fresh, and everything perfectly in place.  The structure here is based more on its acidity than tannins, though the tannins are there they and just melt on your tongue.  This wine has great length to accompany its generosity.

Vivid red. A highly perfumed, complex bouquet evokes ripe red berries, blood orange, star anise and vanilla, and smoky mineral and candied rose nuances build as the wine opens up. Silky, focused and gently sweet, offering concentrated raspberry, cola, floral pastille and spicecake flavors, underscored by a vein of juicy acidity that gives the wine a surprisingly delicate touch. Shows excellent clarity and youthful tension on the strikingly long finish, which is shaped by fine-grained, even tannins.

Big Table Farm Yamhill Carlton Pinot 2015


This wine represents the best of the Yamhill Carlton AVA and is adorned by one of the many historic barns of the county.  The 2015 Yamhill-Carlton is made from the fruit of the Coats and Whitney and Kalita Vineyards, both farmed impeccably by Daniel Fey and the team at Results Partners.


tasting notes— This wine shows heady aromas of plum, raspberry preserve, vanilla, toasted oak, wet earth.  Palate has liqueur qualities, juicy, toasted oak, and subtle campfire smoke, leather and black cherry. Full ripe tannins on the finish add unexpected but well received structure on the palate despite its openness to express all its qualities.  This for me is really spot on for the AVA especially in a warm vintage.


Review:

This aromatic wine is the ripest of the winery's fine lineup of 2015 Pinots, with a sweet, soft, round and smooth entry. Its pretty strawberry and cherry fruit is swathed in mocha, proving supple and immediately appealing. Domaine Charles Pere & Fille Pommard 2015

Domaine Charles Pere & Fille Pommard is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.

Wine-making

The Pommard is a selection of seven different parcels, each fermented separately, with the final blend made at the end of aging to create the best expression of soil diversity. Fully destemmed then placed in vats for 15 days and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.

Tasting notes

A deep ruby-purple color, the Pommard nose reveals blackberry and blueberry notes with a touch of ripe plum and cherry pith. The mouth provides firm tannins that melt across the finish, with beautiful persistent structure good for

ageing. Food pairing suggestionsIt will goes very well with coq au vin, premium beef cuts and hard cheeses

This Saint Véran Les Rochats is produced from 50 year old Chardonnay grapes that are organically grown.

St. Nikolaus Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese is made from 100 percent Riesling.

"Sonnenuhr" means sundial. The vineyard is facing the small town of Brauneberg formerly Dusemond. It's a steep slate slope on the Mosel, with a south-southeast exposure.

Full-bodied Riesling with typical Devonian slate qualities. Luscious fruit; nice minerality, length and acidity.

The colour is intense, purple-tinged garnet. The aromatic range of the nose goes from fresh berries to black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry). The palate is full-flavoured, with very soft tannins and aromas of the fruit already mentioned. This is a gorgeous style of wine, fruity driven, for every day drinking...anytime !

Soil types
The wine is produced from hilly vineyards that are mainly planted on sandy and clay soils. They are located on the East side of the Rhone valley, in the Vaucluse area. Welcome to the foothills of the well known “Mont Ventoux” Mountain.

Stainless steel fermentaion at cool temperature to preserve the fruits and typicity. Bottling 8 months after the harvest.
