Pinone Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is made from 100% Sangiovese.

Deep ruby-red with garnet hues. Intense fresh aromas of cherries and raspberry. Full, round and silky with aromas of blackberry and plum. Full-bodied and elegant with fine tannins and spicy oak notes in the finish.

Average age of the vines is 20 years. 
Wine went through malolactic fermetation. 
It was slightly filtered before bottling.

Pasta with meat sauce, red meats and game.

"Pinino dates back to 1874, when it was established by Tito Costani beneath the Montosoli hill. Today it is co-owned by an Austrian couple and a Spanish couple, working with consulting oenologist Paolo Vagaggini. Touches of flint and incense counter more overt notes of balsamic herbs and dark cherry. Silky, layered tannins build on the palate to become surprisingly powerful. This will need a couple of years before approaching. Drinking Window 2020 - 2032."

Poggio Nardone Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2012

A ruby red garnet color, ripe fruit aromas, dried fruits, hints of licorice and scents of vanilla. Robust and harmonious in the mouth, a rich texture. The wine is only produced in the best vintages.

The grapes are coming from a vineyard planted at 400 meters above sea level. The soil is mainly marl and limestone. 
The density of vines per hectare is 5,000 plants, which is equivalent to 2,000 vines per acre. 
The pruning technique used is cordon 
The grapes used are 100% Sangiovese grosso
Alcoholic fermentation was done in tank, while the Malo-Lactic fermentation was carried in oak barrels. 
Wine was then aged for one year in big French oak barrels and 3 years in Slavonian oak barrels.

"With only 1,000 bottles produced, the 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a precious wine that might prove difficult to locate. This is a dark and syrupy expression with black fruit aromas of blackberry preserves and prune. You definitely taste the warmth and sunshine in this hot-vintage Sangiovese. The bouquet is intense and rich, but the wine is not as long-lived in terms of mouthfeel. This is a wine of immediate power and volume. - Monica Larner"

Biondi Santi Tenuta Greppo Annata Brunello di Montalcino is made from 100 percent Sangiovese. 

The Biondi-Santi flagship wine, the Brunello di Montalcino embodies the spirit of Tenuta Greppo and the signature style of our winemakers, forged over 150 years of history with its balanced combination of fresh elegance, depth and aristocratic personality.


ORIGIN
The Brunello was produced with our proprietary clone of Sangiovese Grosso called BBS11 (Brunello Biondi Santi 11), which was identified and selected by Biondi-Santi at Tenuta Greppo in the Seventies. For this Brunello we exclusively used grapes from the vines with between 10 and 25 years of age.
AGEING
The Brunello was aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 3 years. It benefited from a long refinement in the bottle.

Review:

The Biondi-Santi 2015 Brunello di Montalcino exudes dark, velvety fruit and concentration while maintaining the signature elegance, suppleness and lithe personalty that distinguishes the iconic Il Greppo estate. I found this new release to be quite distinctive and exquisitely beautiful, setting it apart from many of the past vintages we are most familiar with. This 2015 edition is dark, exuberant and bold, but precise, focused and sharp as well. It will live for years in your cellar, but tasted now in its infancy, the wine shows blackberry, dried cherry, plum and dark cassis. Those dark fruit tones segue to a rich presentation of tar, spice, earth, tobacco and sweet balsam herb. The bouquet offers seamless and smooth transitions. This warm and sunny growing season favored richness and phenolic weight. Wines from Biondi-Santi are made for the long haul, and the fresh acidity that characterizes this estate is the principle reason why. However, I'd argue that this wine from 2015 will evolve over the years not only thanks to the freshness but more so thanks to the important structure of this solid and profound wine.

The 2015 Brunello is highly complex, with pine resin, clove, blood orange, and rose-hip. It offers a grounding richness and warmth from the vintage while maintaining transparency and lift. Structured and with a long finish, this bottle showed no sign of demise over several days. Cellar 1-5 years and enjoy over the next 20 years.

Tenute Silvio Nardi Poggio Doria is made from 100 percent Sangiovese. 

Ruby red color with garnet highlights. Ample and highly complex flavors at the nose develop then to mineral notes of graphite, fruity tones of red berries and spicy aromas of clove and vanilla. Long and balanced at the palate, smooth and persistent notes bring to the elegant end characterized by present and velvety tannins

An impeccably balanced wine, and a perfect partner to a big Tuscan steak (air-dried for extra softness), the Tenute Silvio Nardi 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Vigneto Poggio Doria offers rich dark fruit intensity, good concentration and vivid aromas. It shows extra power and depth with plum, blackberry and a woody red fruit tone that recalls pomegranate or cassis. Even the appearance of this wine is a tone or two darker, albeit with that pretty Sangiovese shine and gloss that radiates from inside the glass. This Brunello delivers.

 Castello Banfi Poggio all'Oro Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG is made from 100% .

  • Vineyards The single "Poggio all'Oro" (golden knoll) vineyard on the Castello Banfi estate in the southern part of Montalcino.
  • Winemaking Soft pressing of the grapes is followed by temperature-controlled maceration for 12-14 days. Released in the 6th year after harvest, the wine is aged for a minimum of five years including at least 2½ years in French oak barriques
  • Tasting Notes Color: Deep ruby red, tending toward garnet. Bouquet: Black fruit and spice, with hints of tobacco, violet, and chocolate. Taste: Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and well structured with supple tannins and good acidity. Plum and cherry flavors give way to a long finish.

"Bright red. Perfumed red berry, strawberry, violet and cinnamon on the enticing nose. Enters juicy and perfumed, then tight and increasingly austere as the high acidity and noteworthy tannic bite keep the fresh red fruit flavors under wraps. Finishes long and clean. This will undoubtedly improve with a little bottle age and will show best with food. It’s a lovely, perfumed Brunello, but I would have liked a touch more ripe fruit; still, this steely wine is very much in the style of the year. - Ian D'Agata"
