COMMENTS
Deep red in colour. The nose is lifted and expressive with lovely Christmas cake and mint characters along with black olives and tobacco leaf adding complexity. The palate is medium to full bodied with blueberry and hints of cassis as the primary fruit flavours. The palate has great poise with the vibrant fruit, spicy French oak and fine tannin structure all wonderfully balanced, and the wine finishes with great length of fruit.

VINIFICATION NOTES
The fruit was harvested at night. Fermentation was carried out in a variety of small capacity fermenters. After pressing the parcels were filled to French oak for maturation. The wine was racked after six months and the parcels were blended to form the final wine.

MATURATION
The wine was matured in a temperature controlled barrel hall for 16 months in French hogsheads (barrels).

VINTAGE NOTES
Average winter rainfall in 2009 resulted in good soil moisture in the 2010 growing season. This combined with moderate weather conditions through most of the growing season allowed for good fruit set and canopy development.

Manoir du Carra Beaujolais Cru Fleurie Vers le Mont 2018

Manoir du Carra Beaujolais Cru Fleurie Vers le Mont is made from 100 percent Gamay. 

Intense red color, subtle fruity and floral aromas of violet, berry and cinnamon. It also has a distinctive aroma of Peony and Lily flowers, typical of the "Sur le Mont" terroir.
It is ample in the mouth and has a lot of ripe red and black fruit flavors. The structure is full and the tannins are round and elegant.
Even better after a few years of cellaring.

Excellent with red and game meats, and cheeses.

Cambon la Pelouse Haut-Medoc 2010 (magnum)

Cambon la Pelouse Haut Medoc is produced from a careful selection of the grapes. Made from 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Limited yield: 45 hl/ha.
Aged in oak barrels for 12 months (50% new oak). Intense ruby/purple color. Delicate aromas of red fruit, liquorice, vanilla and caramel. Ripe fruit flavors, well balanced, great harmonious structure, silky tannins and a good length.

Pairs well with game and red meats, cured cheeses.

Review:

This shows something of Margaux's—the neighboring appellation—delicacy, allied with firm, dry tannins. It has the dense structure and ripeness characteristic of the vintage, with a rich black-fruit flavor and acidity. It's a wine for long-term aging."

Famille Sambardier Pouilly Fuisse La Levee 2016

Famille Sambardier Pouilly Fuisse La Levee is made from 100% Chardonnay

The wine is very aromatic, with brioche, butter and citrus flavors. The length to the finish is long and balanced with great acidity and richness.

Hand harvested. Grapes were sourced from a vineyard in the village of Solutré. 10% of the wine was aged in French Oak barrels.

Excellent with poultry and fresh water fish. Delicious also with goat cheeses.


Manoir du Carra Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau 2020


Redolent of strawberries and roses, fragrant and medium bodied. Refreshing, tart finish.

Average age of the vines: 30 years old (between 20 and 60 years old). Skin contact maceration: between 2 and 5 days depending on the parcels.

Beaujolais-Nouveau has been very popular with almost every Thanksgiving dish - from turkey to ham, green beans to mashed potatoes, and gravy to cranberry sauce.

Varietal 100% Pinot Noir

Appellation American Sparkling Wine 60% Virginia (Oxeye Vineyards), 40 % New York Finger Lakes, Seneca Lake

Winemaking Notes The grapes were handpicked in small baskets early September 2015 and were gently pressed as whole clusters. After a settling of 24 hours, the juice was inoculated with selected Champagne yeast and fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperature. Once the fermentation was over, the wine aged in tanks on its fine lees for 4 months. The blend was then put together and cold-stabilized prior to bottling. The bottling occurred in the spring of 2016 when the cellar temperature was conducive to a second fermentation in the bottle. The now sparkling wine was aged on the yeast for over 24 months. At disgorging, a small amount of dosage liquor is added in order to balance the natural acidity.

Tasting Notes Pale pink in color, this sparkling is medium bodied with subtle strawberry aromas and flavors. Well balanced with texture, structure and a lovely long finish.

Saumaize-Michelin Pouilly-Fuisse “Clos sur la Roche” 2010 is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.

Complex aromas of soft citrus fruits and minerals. Densely packed and fresh, with intense, complex flavors of white fruit as well as a hint of spice. The finish is very firm, long but not dry.

The Domaine Saumaize-Michelin Estate
This family estate is owned by Roger and Christine Saumaize-Michelin and is located in the Village of Vergisson, the best of the five villages for Pouilly-Fuisse. The estate built new cellars in 1991 and uses 10 - 25% new oak per vintage.

The Domaine Saumaize-Michelin Vineyards
This 9 hectare estate is planted to 8.5 hectares of Chardonnay and half an hectare of Gamay for Macon Rouge. The vines are 40-45 years old of age on average. All of the wines are 100% barrel fermented and 100% M-L fermentation. Roger Saumaize makes about 3,800 cases of wine per year under three different appellations: Mâcon-Villages, St Véran and Pouilly-Fuisse.
