"It's rare to find a vinho verde – the famously light and refreshing "green" white wine of Portugal – that isn't delightful, but this is one of the best of the breed. And there's no better time to quaff these wines than in the spring and summer. This version is lightly effervescent, with a lively acidity that wakes up the palate. It combines lime and peach flavors with a whiff of sea breeze. Somehow it manages to be both ethereal and penetrating. The ultimate picnic wine? Perhaps. It begs to be drunk outdoors."

Montino Moscato Light NV

Montino Moscato Light NV is made from 100 percent Muscat.

Naturally lighter in alcohol, mouth-wateringly fruity, Montino offers fresh and lively wines. Delicate, fruity and light, it's perfect for those mid-week occasions when you've got a lot on and would like a lighter, lower alcohol option.

Montino Moscato Light is deligthfully light, delicate and pure. Following a strict policy of "nothing added, nothing taken away", grapes are picked greener with less sugar for a wine that is naturally sweet and lower in alcohol.

Tasting notes:
A pale straw color with a light green tinge, the bouquet is burst of Muscat grape aroma with peach notes and delicate orange blossoms. The flavors follow through on light, refreshing slightly-sparkling, spritzy palate. This elegant, lighter style Muscat wine is low in alcohol, while the mouth filling sweetness is well balanced by refreshing acidity and a lingering finish.

Only free run juice is used for the purest fruit expression (i.e. no pressed grape must: as pressing the grapes add astringent flavors from the skins and pips). After settling and acid adjustment, the fresh grape must was inoculated with selected yeast. Fermentation was colder than usual to capture the delicate floral and upfront fruit flavors. The wine is bottled with CO2 in a petillant style (lightly sparkling).

Total Acidity: 5.9
pH: 3.29
RS: 27 g/L

This wine should be served well-chilled. It is an ideal lunchtime wine, complementing light summer salads and tapas style meals. However, it is versatile enough to be served at most occasions.

SALE!

Hugl Zweigelt Secco Rose  is made from 100% Zweigelt

Despite its relative youth, Zweigelt is actually an Austrian classic. This variety was created in 1922, when Dr. Fritz Zweigelt crossed two grapes - St Laurent and Blaufränkisch. Originally, it was intended for the new variety to be called Rotburger, referring to the place where it was born, Klosterneuburg. But this name never took hold, and instead, Zweigelt was named after the man who was the key in its development.
Today, Zweigelt is the most widely planted red variety in Austria, growing in nearly 9% of this country's vineyards. It is a robust grape, highly resistant to dryness, frost and various diseases.

Lively, fruity bouquet of strawberry, cherry and floral aromas. Refreshing and beautifully balanced, this is a great wine to enjoy as an aperitif. This is a Secco for the whole day and the whole night

The wine is made of 100% Zweigelt grapes of 15-35 years old (25 years old in avarage).
The soil is mainly loam and loess.
It is made using the Charmat method and the wine is aged for 3 months on the lees in stainless steel tanks.
The wine is slightly filtered before bottling.

Drink by itself as an aperitif, it is also a great picnic or brunch wine and will be a good pick to celebrate any occasion.

Review:

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is similarly deep purple/ruby-hued and has slightly more red fruits with lots of black raspberry, cassis, toasted spice, unsmoked tobacco, and incense aromas and flavors. It almost has a Margaux-like perfume and is medium to full-bodied, seamless, and wonderfully balanced on the palate. Some chalky minerality comes through with time in the glass, and it has plenty of tannins and a great finish. It’s not an over-the-top blockbuster and impresses just as much for its elegance as its richness.  -Jeb Dunnuck 96 Points

Passing Time Cabernet Sauvignon Horse Heaven is made from 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc,

The Horse Heaven Hills produces some of the most uniquely complex Cabernet Sauvignons in Washington State. Using fruit from two top Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards - Champoux and Discovery - balanced with just the right amount of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this wine expresses all the concentration, finesse, and Cabernet Sauvignon essence that define this appellation.

This wine has come to embody the style and purpose of Passing Time, featuring classic Cabernet notes of crème de cassis, blackberry, bittersweet chocolate, crushed herbs and graphite. Texture has always been a hallmark of the Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet, and the 2018 vintage shows this beautifully. While approachable in its youth, this wine will reward some patience in the cellar, and age for many years to come.

Review:

"Lots of black plum, smoked earth, chocolate, and tobacco notes emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Horse Heaven Hills. It’s another 2018 that has terrific purity and freshness as well as plenty of mid-palate depth, ripe tannins, and a great finish."

Passing Time Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain 2018

Passing Time Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc.

Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the essence of this famous appellation. It is broad-shouldered and deeply fruited, with classic Red Mountain structure promising a long life in the cellar.

Red Mountain Cabernet is renowned for its firm structure, ageability, and distinctive fruit profile. The 2018 Red Mountain Cabernet accentuates this character using older vines from two iconic vineyards, dating 25-35 years old. The result is a wine of profound depth and complexity featuring dark cherry and currant fruit, as well as crushed herbs and a hint of minerality. Red Mountain wines are known for their ability to cellar for years, and the 2018 vintage should ensure that this wine will be enjoyable for decades to come.

Review:

"Even better, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain is a more concentrated, powerful wine loaded with notions of chocolaty dark fruits, Asian spice, and classic Red Mountain rocky, savory minerality. It’s a big wine, yet it’s perfectly balanced, has stunning purity of fruit, and a great finish. I end my note on this wine with “Love it!”"

Passing Time Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla 2018

Passing Time Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Of all the Passing Time wines, the Walla Walla Cabernet has tended to feature Cabernet exclusively. In the classic 2018, this wine features a deep blue and black fruit character, with hints of blackberry leaf, baker’s chocolate, and crushed herbs. Featuring fruit from Seven Hills and Pepper Bridge vineyards—two locales with very different characters—this wine balances the power and structure of the Pepper Bridge site, with the beautiful elegance and bouquet of the Seven Hills vineyard. The resulting blend features the tell-tale balance of Passing Time’s style while also expressing the profound depth and balance of the incredible 2018 vintage.

Review:

All Cabernet Sauvignon and mostly from the Seven Hills Vineyard (there’s 38% from Pepper Bridge), the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley offers up a medium to full-bodied, fresh, nicely focused style that carries terrific cassis and black cherry fruits as well as lots of spice and violet notes. With good acidity and ripe, polished tannins, give bottles 3-4 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following two decades.

Sena Cabernet Blend 2018

Seña is an authentic Chilean blend made from the finest Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot varieties. The Carmenere variety adds an evident Chilean personality to the wine.

COMPOSITION: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Malbec 15% Carmenere, 7% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot WINEMAKER’S NOTES “Of a deep violet red colour, the complexity on the nose conceals its many subtleties, unfolding floral notes alongside red and black fruits, denoting its distinctive freshness. Several layers are unveiled delivering notes of cedar, tobacco, bitter chocolate and truffles. An elegant, tense and yet very attractive wine, it generously offers fresh and juicy fruit that reminds of blueberries, raspberries, some spices and Cuban cigar box notes. Above all, Seña 2018 is a truly captivating wine that accomplishes a unique balance between power and elegance. I believe we are beholding one of the greatest vintages ever crafted in the 25 years of Seña’s history.”

An iconic decision is made from the heart. Following the sign of his intuition, in 1995 Eduardo Chadwick pioneered a joint venture with Robert Mondavi to handcraft a world-class Chilean wine. Chadwick searched alongside Mondavi for four long years before finding the ideal terroir in Chile’s Valle de Aconcagua that spoke to their instincts. Seña is the culmination of their vision – an expression of consummate quality and character.

Review:

This is a very thoughtful Seña that shows unique aromas of warm earth, mushrooms and conifer, turning to dark berries and black olives. The palate is more glamorous with ultra-fine tannins that envelop your palate. Shows power and vibrancy at the end. Toned muscles. It’s a very intellectual wine that harkens back to the 2015. Blend of 55% cabernet sauvignon, 18% malbec, 15% carmenere, 7% cabernet franc and 5% merlot. - James Suckling  100 Points
