"An impressive first release for this all-Pinot Noir bubbly from Paraje Altamira, aged for 18 months on its lees before disgorgement. It’s a creamy, bready, well-balanced style, with fine bubbles and a dry, palate-cleansing finish. A fizz to watch. 2017-22"
- Tim Atkin (Argentina Special Report 2017), 92 pts

"Perhaps with the same sort of structural power that Altamira reds possess, this sparkling rosé shows something immutable in body, lively texture, bracing acidity. The wine spent 18 months on the lees and this, no doubt, provides flavor complexities well beyond the fruit, but still the fruit predominates with intense aromas, substantial, and crisp, lively acidity. If what you’re looking for is a sparkler for carpaccio or roast beef, this is it."

Winery: Ayni

The Ayni Estate
Ayni is produced in a state-of-the-art winery, Chakana, built with the purpose of achieving outstanding quality.

Chakana winery was founded by Juan Pelizzatti on May 2nd, 2002. Juan was driven to enter the wine industry first and foremost by his passion for wine, and also by the desire to invest his time and money on a product of agriculture. Although Juan did not know it at the time, the company was founded on the same day the Chakana was celebrated on the Andes highlands: on that same day, the Southern Cross (the Chakana for the Inca people) becomes vertical in the night Andean sky.
Juan's mission is to create an integral experience to introduce world consumers to the taste and culture of the Andes. His vision is to become one of the top 20 exporters of wine from Argentina, by consistently offering outstanding value for money.

Wine is currently produced in four different levels at Chakana, by winemaker Gabriel Bloise:
          Entry Level: Maipe
Reserve Level: Maipe Reserve, Cueva de las Manos, Nuna
          Estate Selection
          Ayni

The winemaking process is focused on treating the grapes with great care and with strict control of every step of the production.
Wines are designed under the responsibility of the renowned international wine consultant Alberto Antonini.
The winery is located on a 150 ha. estate, 34 km South of the city of Mendoza, in Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo.
The grapes grown are 35 year-old Malbec, Bonarda and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Deep and textured soils facilitate plant development and confer great body and structure to the wines.
The year-long sunny and dry conditions allow almost organic viticulture practices. The outstanding feature includes a great daily thermal amplitude, with mild days and cold nights, permitting a particular richness of polifenols that improves the wines flavors and color.
A drip irrigation system has been set up to achieve a precise control of the vegetative cycle and a rational use of water. Waters are processed and used in the vineyards.

Charles Duret Cremant de Bourgogne Rose NV

The appellation Crémant de Bourgogne Contrôlée was created by a decree on the 17th October, 1975.

The base wine for Crémant de Bourgogne Rosé comes from pre-selected vines within the Burgundy region. 100% Pinot Noir.

Following a draconian hand sorting of the grapes they are immediately pressed. A gentle and slow pressure is used in order to extract the very delicate salmon pink color from the pulp.

Delicate, long-lasting bubbles are proof of this traditional, bottle fermented, quality sparkling rosé burgundy wine. The first impression in the bouquet is of brioche followed by aromas of blackcurrants and redcurrants. Rich and long lasting flavors follow.

7 to 8°. Served as an aperitif or with many dishes such as fish or poultry. Particularly attractive when served with fresh fruit desserts. It is the perfect wine for receptions.

Made in the traditional method of bottle fermentation over 12 months.

De-gorging, dosage de depart and the final cork is then inserted.

Can be stored for many years in a dark, cool place.

    .
Elegant, refreshing, food-friendly and versatile, this very well made Tavel offers mouth-watering aromas of strawberry and berry pie. Dry and lively, it is an ideal wine for barbecues as it makes a wonderful sipper that’s also capable of matching with a wide variety of summer foods, including grilled chicken, seafood and summer salads

    Review:

This estate always makes a terrific Rosé and the 2016 Tavel is no exception. Sporting a classic Tavel deeper raspberry color, it offers terrific notes of black cherries, framboise and flowers in a medium-bodied, nicely textured, yet still fresh and vibrant style. I’d call it a food Rosé, but it has the purity and freshness drink nicely on its own as well. - Jeb Dunnuck"

    Rebuli Prosecco Cartizze Grand Cru

Rebuli Prosecco Cartizze Grand Cru is a noble wine with a clear straw color, it exhibits pleasant and delicate fruity flavors and is a perfect match to desserts.

"Here's an Italian sparkling wine that opens to a very delicate bouquet that is held together with light floral aromas of jasmine and lemon blossom. The Rebuli NV Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze Dry is light, delicate and precious in terms of its aromatic output. Its texture is mostly built upon the silky creaminess of the very compact and fine effervescence. A point of sweetness adds to a sense of softness. This is your textbook Cartizze sparkler. Fruit is from the 2017 vintage, although it is not recorded as such on the bottle."

This wine is aromatized with a very little amount of Raspberry flavor, giving a nice mouthfeel, with an extra aromatic boost.

The bubbles are obtained using the Charmat method, named after Eugene Charmat, where the second fermentation takes places in a large, closed pressurized tank. It is different from the Methode Champanoise as the secondary fermentation doesn't take place in the bottle.

"Pale pink salmon. Just a touch off-dry, this is a very pleasant sparkler that reveals aromas of spicy red apple with a hint of cinnamon that carry through to the palate. Well made and exceedingly pleasant to drink."

    Montino Rose NV

Montino Rose NV is made from 85% Muscat and 15% Pinotage

Naturally lighter in alcohol, mouth-wateringly fruity, Montino offers fresh and lively wines. Delicate, fruity and light, it's perfect for those mid-week occasions when you've got a lot on and would like a lighter, lower alcohol option.

Montino Natural Sweet Rose offers an abundant bouquet of red berries in a refreshing, lightly sparkling wine.

    Tasting notes:
An irresistible juicy natural sweet rosé, Montino Rose is a pretty cherry pink with tempting crushed strawberry and Turkish delight aromas that explode in succulent candied red berry flavors. The light alcohol, lively wine is easy-drinking and a great lunch time wine.

Only free run juice is used for the purest fruit expression (i.e. no pressed grape must: as pressing the grapes add astringent flavors from the skins and pips). After settling and acid adjustment, the fresh grape must was inoculated with selected yeast. Fermentation was colder than usual to capture the delicate floral and upfront fruit flavors. Varietals are vinified separately and blended to perfection before bottling with CO2 in a petillant style (lightly sparkling).

This wine should be served well-chilled. It is an ideal lunchtime wine, complementing light summer salads and tapas style meals. However, it is versatile enough to be served at most occasions.

    Rebuli Prosecco In Fondo NV

description: This is a Pét-Nat Prosecco.
Pét-Nat is short for Pétillant Naturel (French for Naturally Sparkling).
It is the same vinification method as "Methode Ancestrale" used in Bugey Cerdon.
The wine is bottled before the end of the first alcoholic fermentation. Unlike Champagne method (in which the base wine completes his first fermentation in tank and only the secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle adding sugar and yeast also known as liqueur de tirage, which will requires the wine to be disgorged), Pét-Nat method doesn't imply the wine will be filtered or disgorged upon fermentation.
This gives Pét-Nat its light and fizzy mouthfeel, generally with a little sweetness and low alcohol. Most of the times, bottles are slightly cloudy from the presence of lees.
The wine is vibrant with complex lemon citrus, pear and verbena. It finishes dry with delicate yeasty notes.

    Alcohol 11,0% vol.
    Acidity 5,1 g/l.
    Residual sugar 0 g/l
    PH 3.3
    Pressure 2.4 atm

    Area of origin: Vittorio Veneto
    Soil: calcareous
Varietal: 95% Glera (known as Prosecco)
Harvest: Manual, with selection of the grapes.
Vinification: Soft pressing with bladder membrane press, settling of must, fermentation at controlled temperature
Fermentation: Processed according to the traditional method of fermentation in yeast bottles. Is normal his natural “bottom” deposit in the bottle, which is why it is brilliant or velvety straw yellow if shaken; the bubble development is brilliant.

Extremely digestible wine, suitable for casual moments or tasting the typical sausages of the local tradition such as the sopressa. Great with pizza daisy.

    Review:

"Showing orchard fruit aromas, this wine offers exuberant fruit with light lemon and herbal notes. It offers bright acidity and finishes complete dry. One of the best Pet-Nats we’ve had this year. Made of 95% Glera, this is a sparkling wine made the ancestrale method where the wine is bottled before the end of fermentation, resulting in dissolved carbon dioxide that lends a light sparkling quality to the wine."

Terre dei Buth Frizzante Rose Special Cuvee NV

Terre dei Buth Frizzante Rose Special Cuvee NV is made from 90% Glera and 10% Raboso.

Fresh, fruity with hints of gooseberry and redcurrant.

On top of being "Certified Organic", this is also "Vegan Approved".

Glera and Raboso are blended before foaming process into what we call "Special Cuvée", for its outstanding drinkability and delicate scents. Glera, which is the variety used to make Prosecco, brings the liveliness of the most famous Italian sparkling wine to this cuvée, which reaches perfection thanks to Raboso, which is an indigenous red grape of the Venetian region, well-known for its hints of red berries and smooth taste.

The grapes are coming from vines planted on gravelly soils.
Average age of the vines is about 10 years old.
Grapes are machine-harvested, so that the grapes are pressed about 10 minutes after picking, allowing to preserve the freshness of the fruit, and avoiding micro-fermentation that would take place by leaving the grapes for too much time in the vineyard after picking.
Each grape variety is harvested and vinified individually.
After picking, grapes are soft-pressed, and the primary fermentation is completed in about 10 days. Then fermentation takes place for 5-6 months, where the cuvée reaches the appropriate level of acidity for foaming, which is performed in stainless steel tanks, thermo-conditioned, for about 20-25 days.

    Pasta, pizza and summer salads.

Abeja Syrah Walla Walla Valley 2016

Complex and compelling, this estate-grown Syrah sends up smoky notes of cured meat, nougat and caramel. Black cherry fruit anchors the barrel notes, and it just gets more and more delicious as it winds its way across the palate. This demonstrates classy winemaking and perfect balance.

The fruit for this wine is grown at an elevation of 1310 feet on the grounds of the Winery. The higher elevation and the proximity to the Blue Mountains, gives this vineyard a longer, cooler ripening season than most other areas of the Walla Walla Appellation. The cooler site results in a style much like that of a classic Northern Rhone with complexity and balance without the concentration and higher alcohol levels of Syrah produced in warmer areas.
