Ecard Savigny Beaune Blanc Premier Cru Hauts Jarrons is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.
Golden yellow with green hues. The mouth is sharp, with a nice acidity and mineral note that give complexity to the wine. A complex and delicate nose of white flowers, dried fruits and toasted bread. It will change with ageing towards pear, ginger bread and white pepper
Pair with tender meat, fried river fish, sea fish in white sauce, hot shellfish, poultry in a beautiful creamy sauce and frog legs. Hard cheeses: Comté, Beaufort, Emmental…
Ecard Maurice Bourgogne Rouge Pinot Noir is 100 percent Pinot Noir.
Supple, fresh red wine with distinct fruitiness and showing a lot of the characteristics of the terroir from where the vines are situated with cherry, blackcurrant and raspberry aromas. Discreet tannins in the flavors give a more feminine image.
Growing in light and stony soil made up mainly of clay. The alcoholic vinification takes place in stainless steel vats followed by malolactic fermentation and aging for 6 months in 2 – 4 year old oak barrels.
A good all round red wine for meat courses, grills, barbecues and light cheeses.
Nicolas Potel Domaine de Bellene Beaune Premier Cru Vieilles Vignes Hommage a Francoise Potel is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
A blend of five premier cru climats, this homage to Nicolas Potel’s late mother has a lovely and engaging aroma that combines delicate floral nuances with finely structured dark cherry and blueberry fruit. Even some cranberry emerges on the superbly focused mid-palate. A very elegant wine, with fine length.

Domaine Charles Pere & Fille Volnay Premier Cru Fremiets is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
Terroir Soil : Very thin soil with rocks near earth's surface Exposition : South East Average age : 30 years Surface area : 0.6 hectare Yield : 38 hl/ha
Winemaking:Fully destemmed, then vatted for about 15 days and aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Grapes are picked by hand and transported in small crates in order to prevent berries from being crushed. With the same concern for quality, bunches and grapes are sorted again as soon as they reach the cellar.
Tasting notes: Nice shades of violet and garnet red. On the nose, violet and cherry notes. A wine with a good attack, silky tannins, elegance and, above all, nice length.
Food pairing suggestions: It perfectly complements venison marinade, Bresse chicken.
Review:
From the Pommard side of Volnay, this wine straddles the smoothness of a Volany with the structure of a Pommard. It offers both immediate richness and ripe black fruits along with a core of dark tannins that will allow this wine to age. Drink from 2022.

Bavencoff Pernand Vergelesses Premier Cru Blanc is made from Chardonnay.
The wine offers a white gold or pale yellow color turning into darker gold with age. It boasts aromas of white flowers, (may, acacia) developing into notes of amber, honey and spices. On the palate it is mineral, harmonious and easy to like.
Aged in new oak barrels (Allier).
Sushi, fresh-water fish in white sauce, and for pasta or a seafood risotto.
Domaine Tollot-Beaut Les Vercots Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru 2018 is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
Tollot-Beaut's Les Vercots Premier Cru is rustic and robust with aromas and flavors of red cherries, spice, and earth with substantial weight and ripe tannins.
Red Burgundy might be the world's most flexible food wine. The wine's high acidity, medium body, medium alcohol, and low tannins make it very food-friendly. Red Burgundy, with its earthy and sometimes gamey character, is a classic partner to roasted game birds, grilled duck breast, and dishes that feature mushrooms, black truffles, or are rich in umami.
Review:
Marked by alluring black cherry and violet aromas and flavors, this red also has intensity and structure. Iron, earth and spice elements add depth. Has a nice silkiness to offset the light burr of tannins on the finish. Best from 2023 through 2035.

Maurice Ecard Savigny Beaune 1er Cru Narbantons is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir
Reduced yields from severe springtime pruning, fully mature harvest and manual selection and sorting. Vinification involves partial destemming, classic fermentation, pigeage, racking of the gross lees.
The wine offers black cherry fruits on the nose. Rich and full bodied with a beautiful texture. Flavorful.
The Maurice Ecard Estate
The Domaine dates back to before 1789 and produces some of the best Premiers Crus in Savigny. Owner Maurice Ecard, who is now retired, was considered by many experts to be the father of the appellation.
His wines are now produced by Vincent Sauvestere. Vincent's paternal family has been firmly established in Meursault since the 18th Century. His father and grandfather were both "Maitres de Chais" for one of the most prestigious Wine Houses in the heart of Meursault. Vincent's father, Roger, created his own company in the early fifties with the acquisition of a Wine Merchant founded in 1891. He also had his own vines, inherited from his mother. In 1988, Roger handed over the running of the company to Vincent. When Vincent, born in Nuits Saint Georges in 1961, took control of the Domaine, it consisted of only 6 hectares (14.81 acres) of vines. Today the Domaine covers 40 hectares (98.77 acres) from Chablis to Meursault. In addition, Vincent has acquired other viticultural Domaines in Chablis, the Côte Chalonnaise and recently in the Rhone Valley.
The Domaine is proud to possess two Grand Cru wines, Corton Charlemagne & Corton Marechaudes, as well as twelve Premiers Cru wines. Through his family's traditional winemaking skills, passed down from generation to generation, and his years of oenological studies, Vincent now advocates:
- Expression of the unique terroir characteristics from each individual vineyard by using traditional winemaking methods.
- Well structured and easy drinking Burgundies :
- Pleasing to the eye
- Soft and supple flavors
- Lingering aftertaste with excellent ageing attributes.
Vincent's constant aim is quality and respect for all wines.
The Maurice Ecard Vineyard
Th domaine is cultivated through organic methods and produces wines that purely and distinctly reflect the terroir. The Premiers Crus include: "Narbantons", "Jarrons", "Serpentieres", "Peuillets" and "Les Clous". The yields are never over 35 hl/ha. The vines are pruned and, when fully mature, harvested by manual selection. Vinification involves 75 to 100% destemming, a classic fermentation, pigeage, racking of the gross lees, 15-18 months in oak (15% new from Damy).
Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
A lovely, brilliant crimson color. A very earthy Nuits nose with some vanilla bean, too. On the palate, smoky, velvet-textured fruit without any tannin, but acids take their place, so the wine is nicely balanced. Not heavy, but a very elegant Pinot expression at the end.
Review:
Exotic scents of violet, raspberry and wild cherry mark this juicy red. Vivid and fruity, yet backed by a baseline of firm tannins. Shows fine balance and a lingering aftertaste of red berries and mineral. Best from 2022 through 2038.

Textured, classic Russian River Chardonnay with pleasing counterbalance between ripeness and acidity, distinguishable by underlying minerality, quality oak.
The nose is a blend of pear fruit and caramel. On the palate, these notes continue and are balanced with a hint of Rangbur lime in the finish. The crisp acidity is a perfect balance to the richness of the wine. This is to my mind exactly what RRV CH can be when top sites are well farmed and winemaking is focused.
