Manual harvest, selection of the grapes from the "Chaillot" parcel, full clusters, fermentation in tanks for 3 weeks, daily remontage and pigeage. Malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and aging on the lees for 12-18 months in barrels (new old barrels) The average age of the vines is 12 years. Yield: 25 hl/ha

Review:

I had no such problems with the reds, however, and the 2015 Cornas looks to be a brilliant wine. Blackberries, wild herbs, pepper and black olives all emerge from this full-bodied, rich, unctuous and tannic 2015 that's going to require 2-4 years of cellaring and keep for 15-20 years.-Wine Advocate 92-94 Points

Opaque ruby. Heady dark berry, incense, olive and Indian spice aromas show excellent clarity and pick up a smoky mineral nuance with air. Broad, sappy and appealingly sweet, offering intense black and blue fruit and spicecake flavors and a suggestion of candied licorice. Tightens up on the impressively persistent finish, which features blueberry and cracked pepper notes and building tannins. Tanzer 92 Points

Whiffs of truffle, leather and violet introduce this deft, nuanced Syrah. Blackberry and plum flavors are intensely ripe but muted by savory notes of spice and earth. Freshly balanced and supple on the palate, it finishes with a firm, penetrating grip of tannins. Lovely already it should soften and meld from 2021 and continue to improve through 2030. -Wine Enthusiast 94 Points

Johann Michel Cornas Cuvee Jana 2015

Johann Michel Cornas Cuvee Jana is 100% Syrah

Manual harvest, selection of the grapes from the "Chaillot" parcel, full clusters, fermentation in tanks for 3 weeks, daily remontage and pigeage. Malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and aging on the lees for 12-18 months in barrels (new old barrels) The average age of the vines is 11 years. Yield: 25 hl/ha

Review:

A bigger, richer wine, the 2015 Cornas Jana is a tiny-production cuvée and the flagship release for the estate. Completely destemmed and aged in older barrels, it offers a killer bouquet of graphite, crushed rocks, new saddle leather and layers of black raspberry and black cherry fruit. This full-bodied, concentrated, tannic effort is going to rival, if not surpass, the 2010. -Wine Advocate 94-96 Points

Review:

This has a vibrant core of raspberry, blackberry and boysenberry fruit, backed by mouthwatering iron and white pepper notes, pulling together on the bay- and lavender-lined finish. Built on racy purity, with some sneaky power in reserve. Best from 2017 through 2027. 500 cases made.  Wine Spectator 93 Points
