Review:

A bigger, richer wine, the 2015 Cornas Jana is a tiny-production cuvée and the flagship release for the estate. Completely destemmed and aged in older barrels, it offers a killer bouquet of graphite, crushed rocks, new saddle leather and layers of black raspberry and black cherry fruit. This full-bodied, concentrated, tannic effort is going to rival, if not surpass, the 2010. -Wine Advocate 94-96 Points

Review:

The 2015 Lirac La Reine des Bois continues this estate's mastery of the appellation, combining hints of vanilla with black cherry fruit in a full-bodied, richly textured and tannic wine. The blend is 40% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre, with up to 15% being aged in barriques. Longtime readers will be happy to know that the 2010 (still youthful) and the 2006 (nearing maturity) are drinking well. Based on that, expect this vintage to drink well through at least 2030.-Wine Advocate 93 Points

Review:

Vivid purple. Highly perfumed, spice- and smoke-accented aromas of ripe dark berries, smoked meat, olive paste and candied violet, lent urgency by a minerally element. At once rich and lively in style, offering concentrated blackberry, blueberry and floral pastille flavors that turn sweeter as the wine opens up. Shows excellent clarity on an impressively long, clinging finish that features youthful, gripping tannins and an emphatic, smoky bacon flourish. All whole clusters. - Josh Raynolds"

Deep lurid ruby. Smoke-accented blackberry, cherry compote and violet qualities, along with a spicy nuance that builds in the glass. Shows very good depth as well as energy in the mouth, offering sweet blueberry, cherry and candied violet flavors that spread out slowly on the back half. - 60% of the final blend is coming from vineyards located on the hillside (16 year old vines on the "coteau") which is planted on sandy soils, decomposed granite and some roicks, giving the strucutre, the spiciness and the licorice type of flavors to the blend.
- the other 40% of the final blend is coming from the bottom of the slope (40 years old vines on the "pied de coteau") which is planted on sandy soils, bringing acidity and balance to the wine.

Manual harvest, selection of the grapes, 100% destemming, fermentation in tanks for 3 weeks, daily remontage and pigeage.

Review:

"The 2017 Saint-Péray Blanc from Michel checks in as an even split of Marsanne and Roussanne that was brought up all in neutral oak. It’s an outstanding wine as well as a terrific value. Notes of orchard fruits, honeyed minerality, white flowers, and hints of brioche all give way to a medium to full-bodied concentrated, yet elegant Saint-Péray that has good acidity, notable balance, and a great finish. Drink it any time over the coming decade."
