Deep red color with violet hues. On the nose, it presents balanced notes of ripe fruit, with spices and herbal aromas that give great complexity. Its aging in oak finishes harmonizing aromatically the wine with notes of vanilla and chocolate. In the mouth, the sweetness of its tannins give a complex and long finish.
Review:
"This has dark, chocolatey character with notes of black fruit, vanilla, pinewood and hazelnuts. Medium-to full-bodied, compact and a little tight with a firm texture and bright acidity. Layered. Needs time to open and soften. Cabernet franc, petit verdot, malbec, cabernet sauvignon and syrah. Drink now."

The winery was born in 2004, when 4 friends, passionate about wine and Argentina, decided to enter the wine world by choosing one of the most elegant and distinguished terroirs for red wine in the province Lujan de Cuyo, best known as the land of Malbec.
Winery Acreage: 48 hectares (119 acres)
OTAVIANO WINERY:
The winery has a very modern design and was built with material from the region. It is surrounded by the vineyards and overlooks the Andes Range.
Traditional and cutting-edge techniques are mixed in our production in order to obtain high quality wines.
The winery has stainless steel fermentation and conservation tanks with temperature control, an underground cellar perfectly conditioned for wine aging in oak barrels and a storage room where bottles finish their maturation process.
LOCATION:
Otaviano Winery and Vineyards is located in the highest part of Alto Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, 300 meters south of the International Route 7 (Km 8)
The estate has 48 hectares of vineyards with the winery in its centre. The place has an incredible view of the Andes Mountain Range and it is ideal to enjoy our sunsets.
ELABORATION:
Our Wines are designed from the vine. There is a thorough work carried out through the different varietal sectors. The vine load is carefully regulated to obtain the perfect balance of the plant and in so doing, get wines that express the maximum potential of our terroir.
In the winery, the grapes are carefully selected with traditional and cutting-edge techniques. By keeping strict control of all the process variables, we are able to preserve and enhance the quality of our wines. These are characterized for being honest, expressive wines with a perfect balance between the fruit of each variety and the ageing in oak.
Our vineyards are located at 1,050 mts above sea level, at the foot of the Andes, where the thermal amplitude and the perfect sunlight give way to a well balanced and high quality harvest. Different grape varieties are selected from the native land, which has deep ground and sandy characteristics. The crops are carefully handled with accurate viticulture techniques and the environment is well taken care of with low impact agrochemicals. The grapes are harvested in 18 kg cases when the vines express their maximum potential.
MALBEC (24 HECTARES)
This variety from the Southwest of France is the one that has experienced the best adaptation to the Argentinean soil, providing exceptional wines of intense aroma, very concentrated purple color and pleasant taste. Without any doubt Argentina produces the best Malbec specimens in the world. Malbec is made as a light young red wine with fresh fruity aromas or as a wine with good body and storage capacity with highlighted ripe berry aromas. It is grown in every viticulture region in the country and provides the best samples in Mendoza, in the regions of Lujan de Cuyo and Maipú. Because Malbec is an emblematic and standard variety, the wineries in Argentina experience an interesting growth in the international market and it is very well positioned among the best wines in the world.
CABERNET SAUVIGNON (12 HECTARES)
Historically associated with the Grand Bordeaux region, it is the most widely recognized red variety in the world. This is due to the particular adaptation of this vine in different winemaking regions, without losing its essence. It produces a wine rich in tannins and color that blends with other less tannic varieties, such as Merlot or Cabernet Franc. These young wines are rough and hard and this is the reason why they are better aged in oak or in the bottle to tame their consistent structure. They are powerful wines, with pleasant aromas and notes that remind us of berries, green peppers and spices.
SYRAH (6 HECTARES)
Of French origin, it is mainly found in the Rodano Valley and is part of great blends, such as L’Hermitage, Chateauneuf du Pape or Cote Rotie. This grape provides very vigorous, solid wines which are rich in tannins and have long conservation. Aging in wooden casks and bottles suits them really well. These wines have intense aromas which remind us of berries, spices and leather. Just like Malbec, Syrah or Shyraz has adapted quite well to the Argentinean soil, giving excellent varietal and blended wines.
PETIT VERDOT (1.5 HECTARES)
It is a high quality red Wine grape, whose origin is unknown. It was first planted in France, mainly in Bordeaux as a complement to the wines of the region. Its late ripeness did not call the attention of the winemakers at first and was eventually left unnoticed by the middle of the XX century. The name comes from the French and means “small green”, referring to its size and the problem this grape endures when the berries fail to develop properly. Not long ago this grape had a comeback and has become more and more popular, especially in Australia, Chile, Argentina, USA and the original region of Bordeaux. These grapes provide very good color and aromas of berries, spices, chocolate and figs. On the palate, the wine is characterized by strong tannins, good volume and acidity.
CABERNET FRANC (1.5 HECTARES)
Cabernet Franc is a red grape From Bordeaux. Its origin goes back to the XVII century where it was mostly grown for blending with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to obtain wines in the Bordeaux style. Genetically speaking, it is the father of Cabernet Sauvignon and this makes them perfectly compatible in winemaking terms.
Cabernet Franc produces intense red wines with more aromatic, herbaceous and complex notes than Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate, it is also lighter, softer and less acid.
CHARDONNAY (3 HECTARES)
Chardonnay takes its name from the small French town in the Burgundy area, and is certainly one of the most appreciated varietal wines in the world. It is an easy to grow grape because of its remarkable ability to adapt to different climatic conditions. The grape from cool climates provides predominant fruity notes, such as apple and pineapple whereas the grape from warmer climates in characterized by tropical fruit notes. It takes part in the elaboration of the best sparkling wines in the world. Chardonnay wines take good level of fermentation and aging in oak and therefore provide aromas such as vanilla, butter and honey. Due to the versatility of the grape, it can be found in Argentina in many possible ways, being either fresh and light or very complex.
SAUVIGNON BLANC (3 HECTARES)
It is the main white grape from Burdeaux and the Loira Valley in France and the world. It has adapted very well to different viticulture regions in the world, such as the Northeast of Italy, Chile, Argentina, and the coast valleys of California and Australia. However, it is the Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand which outstands in the world. It offers herbal and citric aromas, sometimes with smoked or wild notes. In Argentina, this grape has gained an important place among the fine white wines and has a very promising future
Penedo Borges Icono Malbec is made from 85% Malbec, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot
Dark purple color.
Complex aromas of predominent ripe red fruit such as plum, cherry and raspberry with spicy notes.
Chocolate and vanilla flavors from barrel ageing which provide complexity and elegance.
Wine of great lenght.
Red meats, lamb, beef stew, strong cheese.
Review:
Icon is a selection from the winery, that is, of the best barrels of the year, basically with Malbec that occupies 85% of the final blend. The selection is made after a year of aging in barrels. The fruit of this selection is a wine of great depth of flavors, with spicy and herbal touches and with firm, sharp and penetrating tannins. In addition, there are earthy notes that project throughout the palate. An old school wine with an austere structure. One for the Cellar.
-Descorchados 94 Points
"Ripe berry and cassis aromas come with a blast of potent oak, but overall the nose on this Malbec is appealing in a bold manner. Airing is vital to smoothing out the tartaric bite this brings, while flavors of blackberry, dark plum, vanilla and mocha finish long and smoother than the palate. Drink this fully oaked and powerfully built Malbec through 2027. - MICHAEL SCHACHNER"

When the founding fathers of the Napa Valley carved out new sub-AVAs (American Viticultural Areas) in the 1980s, Soda Canyon Ranch was not yet on anyone’s map. The vineyard is neighbored to the northwest and west by the winegrowing districts of Stags Leap District and Oak Knoll District, respectively, which were among the early pioneers of California Cabernet Sauvignon to attain global fame. To the northeast and southeast—and further off the beaten path—were Atlas Peak and Coombsville, thought to be the next frontiers for the emerging wine-producing region.
With richness and depth of flavor, the 2018 Timeless Napa Valley is the embodiment of patience and attention to detail. Decades of experience at Soda Canyon Ranch allow winemaker Nate Weis and team to highlight the individual merits of each block. Combining the strongest lots from each resulted in a refined and harmonious bottling.
In 2018, the diurnal shift at Soda Canyon Ranch produced a darker, lusher fruit profile of Cabernet Sauvignon. Simultaneously, the overnight recovery periods resulted in expressive and refined Merlot, giving the wine a pleasant profile of bright, red fruit. With an extended harvest window, the signature, plush density and structure of Petit Verdot is also prevalent in the final blend. Cabernet Franc thrived in 2018 with its predilection for the cooler soils and the climate of blocks 5, 6, 16, 20 and 21—areas we call the Transition Zone and Hardpan Alley. The variety’s floral and tobacco-like aromatics are accentuated, and its more aggressive nature for back-end tannins tamed.
Once blended, the 2018 vintage rested in French oak barrels for 16 months, developing flavors of vanilla and baking spice. Velvety tannins dance across the palate of bright and lingering cassis. With a smooth finish, this is a comforting wine of elegance and depth—a sophisticated expression of the sedate summer.
Review:
This is a little old-school and shows lots of dark berry, chocolate and dried fruit. It’s full, dense and layered with fleshly sensibility. Velvety texture.

All older vintage wines have been purchased from a single collectors cellar. Pictures can be requested before shipment.
It is hard to imagine with the Lithology range receiving 298 points out of 300 for the three single-vineyard wines, that there could possibly be a wine above them. But there is, and it is our Estate wine. Blended several times very intently by masters of their craft Philippe Melka and Michel Rolland, this is the ultimate expression of our house’s work. Positive, full-bodied, and quite powerful, there’s the expected crème de cassis and blackberry from St. Helena Cabernets, with mineral, herb, subtle tobacco and vanilla, plum skins, and pie crust, purple flowers, forest-conifer notes, and very fine tannic structure. It is a magnificent, and magnificently elegant expression of this house, and when asked recently, Monsieur Rolland stated plainly to me, “oh yes indeed – this is the best one, the best yet…”
Review:
The flagship 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Alejandro Bulgheroni comes from a selection made by winemakers Philippe Melka and Michel Rolland, mostly from Rutherford and Oakville fruit. Aged 20 months in 78% new French oak, it has incredible aromatics of black and blue fruits, spring flowers, and graphite to go with a massive, full-bodied, concentrated style on the palate that somehow stays graceful, weightless, and elegant. This tour de force in Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is guaranteed to put a smile on your face over the coming 20-25+ years.

Alejandro Bulgheroni Lithology Beckstoffer Las Piedras Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon.
From a St. Helena vineyard planted by early Napa settler Edward Bale more than 150 years ago, and later serving as the estate vineyard for the area’s first winery built by Henry Pellet in 1860, the Las Piedras site always gives us our prettiest wine. When placed next to Dr. Crane and To-Kalon wines, the Las Piedras show a certain elegance, with a very graceful entry and finely detailed complexity. We produce it with at least 75% new French oak, so there is a floral, spicy, and vanilla accent to the intense red and black fruits, cassis, and black cherry liqueur. What distinguishes this bottling is the beautifully fine tannins, delicate texture, and stunning purity. (Less than 100 cases made.)
Fermentation 70% Oak, 24% Concrete, 6% Puncheon
Review:
"The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Lithology Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard comes from a world-class site outside of St. Helena and is all Cabernet that spent 20 months in 80% new oak. It offers a touch more red fruit as well ample cassis, spring flowers, loamy earth, and spice-like aromas and flavors. It has a wonderful sense of minerality, ultra-fine tannins, a dense, layered texture, and incredibly purity of fruit. It’s another just about off the charts release from this estate."

Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanee is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
Domaine Jean Grivot is among the great names in Burgundian wine. Étienne Grivot and his wife Marielle took over from Étienne’s father Jean Grivot in 1987. The vineyards are densely planted and farmed organically “sans certification” while the aim in the cellar is for balance and clear expression of terroir.
Jean Grivot’s 38.3 acres spread across 22 appellations with vineyards in the communes of Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot, Chambolle-Musigny, and Nuits-Saint-Georges. Besides the three grand crus, there are 8 premier crus including the much lauded Les Beaux Monts and Suchots in Vosne-Romanée. The grapes are completely de-stemmed and fermentation is spontaneous.
About the Vineyard:
Vosne-Romanée is from village-level parcels lying between the Vosne and the D974. Domaine Jean Grivot is one of the finest producers here and this wine is intended to be a classic expression of the village with red and black fruit perfumed with spice and violet nuances.
Wine Production:
The grapes are destemmed and maceration à froid usually lasts just a day or two. The alcoholic fermentation is spontaneous and malolactic fermentation occurs in barrel. Depending on the vintage, the proportion of new oak is around 25% for the village appellations.
Tasting Notes:
The wine shows aromas and flavors of red berries, herbs, and purple flowers. The palate is rich with ripe fruit and medium weight with bright acidity and fine tannins. Aging in up to 25% new Burgundian pièce brings notes of vanilla, toast, and baking spices.
Food Pairing:
Red Burgundy might be the world’s most flexible food wine. The wine’s high acidity, medium body, medium alcohol, and low tannins make it very food-friendly. Red Burgundy, with its earthy and sometimes gamey character, is a classic partner to roasted game birds, grilled duck breast, and dishes that feature mushrooms, black truffles, or are rich in umami.
Review:
Ripe plum and blackberry fruit, with well-integrated spice and a silky, plump texture which is nicely balanced by plenty of freshness; a typical village-level Vosne, but one that goes beyond in elegance and finesse. This is a blend of grapes grown both above and below grand crus (Aux Champs Perdrix in the case of the former, Aux Réas and others the latter). The total surface area is 2.5ha. The fruit is destemmed and carefully fermented before ageing in 30% new casks.

Riebeek Cellars Merlot is made from 100% Merlot.
Grapes were cold soaked overnight. Inoculated with selective yeast. Fermentation took place at 24 - 26 degree Celsius. Wine were pressed at
above 2 degree Balling. Malolactic fermentation finished in stainless steel tanks. Oak maturation include French oak chips, French oak staves and 2nd and 3rd fill barrels. All blended together to perfection.
The style is elegant with distinctive red berries and well-integrated wood flavors on the nose. The pallet is velvety and smooth with an aftertaste that lingers with the juicy flavors of abundant berries.
At room temperature or slightly chilled. Enjoy with pasta or light meat dishes.
