PierinValetta's brand is produced by Azienda Agricola Rivetti Massimo. They are located in the city of Nieve, in the Piedmont region and they produce Barbaresco, Barbera, Moscato, Arneis and Chardonnay.

Winery Philosophy: PierinValetta's brand is a tribute to Pierin Valetta, which is the ancestor of the Family. It is a way to thank him and honor him for all the hard work and dedication when he planted vines 75 years ago which are used today to make wines with great concentration and depth of flavors.
Pierin Valetta was one of the anchestor of the family. Valetta was the nickname of the branch of Pierin's family. He was born in 1910 and he believed in his territory since when he was a kid. In fact, thanksfully to him, now the family can grow vineyards which are 70+ years old. Now is the fifth generation which is carry on the winery. Three brothers that are following all the works with the help of their parent

OLD VINES
The vineyards are 35-75 years old with limited yield per hectare to maximize the grape quality, the terroir and production area.
NO HERBICIDES, SOIL MANAGEMENT
Herb mowing is done manually to avoid any herbicide, sowing of 20+ different variety of herbs that help plants avoiding stress and acting as natural fertilizer in addition to “humus”.
NO PESTICIDES, INSECTS MANAGEMENT
Use of “sexual confusion” (natural method that provide the use of pheromones to avoid the reproduction of the insects without any chemical product) and hand harvest of “noctue” (worms that eat buds in spring, destroying part of the production).
HARVEST
Manual harvest of only the best fruits at the moment of the top maturity followed by an accurate selection to avoid any compromise.
NATURAL FERMENTATION WITH INDIGENOUS YEASTS
Natural starter (pie de cuve) using only yeasts that are naturally present on the skins of the berries, in order to obtain not standard wines, but products that really reflect the territory and production area bottling: cambiare sulphates con sulphates.
BOTTLING WITH THE MAXIMUM RESPECT OF THE WINE
Minimum use of sulphates and clarify only when really necessary. Red wines, generally, are bottled without any filtration in order to don’t lose any feature of the grape.

Rich, Full bodied, Intense.

Made from 70 years old vines planted on clay soils.
Aged 30 months in French and Slovanian Oak barrels.
Wine wasn't filtered before bottling.
Bright and glossy ruby red in color. On the nose it reveals aromas of small fresh berries and a trace of sour cherry, melded with hints of blackberries and black cherries, followed by a hint of vanilla. A fragrant wine with satisfying intensity. On the palate it is warm, smooth and a medium-bodied with finely-balanced tannins. Dry and sinewy yet fresh with a persistent, aromatic finish.
It naturally accompanies dishes that are typical of Tuscan cuisine with its bold, authentic flavors, such as pasta and risottos made with mushrooms or truffles, pork, grilled meats and medium-matured cheeses.
Review:
Notes of ripe cherries, dried flowers and walnuts with hints of anisette and licorice. Medium- to full-bodied, compact and dense with creamy tannins and steady acidity. Weighty and structured. Drink or hold.

Luis XIV Fondillon Oro 50 years NV is made from 100 percent 100% Monastrell (Mourvedre). Only 24 9 liter cases produced.
The wine is produced in the village of Cañada, in the subarea of Alto Vinalopó in the province of Alicante. Made from 100% Monastrell planted on traditional dry land as bush vines, at 550-580 meters above sea leval and enjoying a Mediterranean climate with great marine influence due to the easterly winds.
Fondillon 50 years is mahogany in color with orange tile rim, medium layer and great density. On the nose, it has a very deep aroma of old wood, black tea and carob. In the mouth, it has a sweet entry balanced by a rich high acidity. Its aromas are long, almost eternal and very intense. It tastes like old mahogany, a very old barrel and bygone times.
Bottled in December 2019.

Dark mahogany color, candied fruit aromas, fruit liqueur notes, spicy, varnish, acetaldehyde, bakery, complex. Fine solera notes, bitter flavors.

The NV Fondillón Luis XIV has the subtitle Edad Superior a 50 años (over 50 years old), and it's a dark mahogany, bottled from a single barrel that has the specific profile of a very old wine greatly concentrated by age, which tends to make it similar to other very old and concentrated wines, be it a Mediterranean rancio or a very old Moscatel. It has notes of bitter chocolate, coconut and iodine, carob beans (algarroba) and some bittersweet sensations. It's dense and concentrated, and the palate is pungent, with very intense flavors and a bitter twist in the finish. This has 16.3% alcohol, 6.45 grams of acidity and 34 grams of sugar, but it comes through as very dry. The wine is long and extraordinary, but it just doesn't have any Fondillón character after decades of concentration by evaporation. The price is ludicrous. Only 435 half-liter bottles were filled in December 2019. - Luis GUTIERREZ

Fondillón is an extraordinary treasure of Alicante, a rare product, made from late harvest, non-botrytised grapes, unfortified, but with a final alcohol of no less than 16%. Intense, aged, but not sweet (deliciously not more than 45g/l). Fab with cheese or dark chocolate. The wines have to be a minimum of 10 years; this release is more than 25 years. G.D. Vajra Barolo Coste di Rose is made from 100 percent Nebbiolo.
The Coste di Rose is a very seductive wine right out of the gate. Cherries and roses burst on the nose, with hints of amarena, red hard candy, wild berries, wet stone, mint and thyme. The palate is radiant and expressive, with all of the signature elements of Coste di Rose in nice evi-dence: the ethereal character, the saline, up-front tannic structure, and further whiffles of roses and cherries in the finish.
G.D. Vajra is one of Barolo's most beloved family estates, farming organically in La Morra since the early 1970s and known for fragrant, high-toned, transparent Nebbiolo. Coste di Rose is one of the highest and coolest crus in Barolo, its sandy, well-draining soils yielding especially perfumed and graceful wines; the 2022 is a touch more structured and powerful than most.
Review:
Floral, as is typical of this estate, with crunchy red fruit and rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied, with a blanket of delicate, tender fruit defined by chalky, precise yet silky tannins. Drinkable now with proper aeration, but will improve with some bottle age.

The G.D. Vajra 2022 Barolo Coste di Rose is taut and elegant, with a glossy surface that acts as a sounding board to aromas of rose petal, violet pastille, candied orange and cassis. Coste di Rose is one of the highest and coolest crus in Barolo, known for producing especially fragrant and graceful expressions of Nebbiolo. I love the sharpness of the wine and the way it treads lightly over the palate, although the 2022 vintage is in fact a bit more structured and powerful than most. Fruit comes from a 1.5-hectare parcel inside the Coste di Rose cru with a high percentage of well-draining sandy soils that contribute to the wine’s finesse.
