Ponzac Patiemment Cahors 2013 is made from 100% Malbec
Grown on soils of red (irony) clay and limestone, this ambitious Cahors is one of the best example of what can be achieved when working with high precision on the "Causse". It combines the ripeness and the fat of Malbec of the clay based soils and the purity in fruit of the limestone.
Dark color, almost black as it should be for a ripe and concentrated wine from Malbec. The nose shows notes of fresh black fruit (blackberries) and also some more candied fruit and orange peal. It has also a spicy dimension to it (cinnamon). The texture is dense and velvety but the wine remains crisp and tensed all the way to the finish. Great food wine it will match any grilled meat dishes.

Review:
"A step up both in quality and in price, the 2015 Cahors Patiemment is all Malbec, from clay and limestone soils, that was brought up mostly in tank, with 15% in oak. More balanced than the Maintenant release, with notes of blueberries, chocolate, crushed rocks, and hints of graphite, it’s medium to full-bodied, rounded, layered, and textured on the palate. It's a beautiful wine and I'd pay the uptick in price."

Ponzac Maintenant Cahors is made from 100% Malbec
Unoaked, this wine is typical of Cahors from the Plateau the "Causse" as they call it here. The climate here is much more severe and continental than in the valley of the Lot where most of the Cahors are grown. The grapes for this wine are grown on soils rich in limestone. This explains the purity of the aromas and the fruit.
Dark color with violet reflection. The nose exhibits fresh notes of violet and blackberries that are typical characteristics of wines made from Malbec in the Cahors district. On the palate, the fruit is very obvious (again blackberries and dark cherries). The wine is very tensed and long. Despite the hot vintage, it is extremely fresh and lively. A great wine to sip away with some cold meat or just a nice pasta dish with tomatoes.

Ponzac Maintenant ou Jamais Cahors is made from 100 percent Malbec.
A deep red color, lots of red fruit aromas on the nose with hints of plum. On the palate, it is smooth with blackcurrant flavors, rounded tannins and just a touch of acidity.
Excelent as an aperitif or paired with cheese, cooked and grilled meat.
Ponzac Malbec Cahors is made from 100 percent Malbec.
The wine is produced from vineyards planted on a mineral and fresh terroir - the chalky plateau of Carnac - which produces unique wines.
The nose shows notes of fresh black fruits (blackberries) with candied fruits and spices. The texture is dense and velvety and the wine is crisp and tense all the way to the finish.
This wine will pair very well with beef tartare, meat in sauce, curries and grilled meat.
Review:
"A finely balanced, rich wine, this both dense and elegant. Spice and a dry core of tannins are both very much in evidence at this stage, although both will soften in time. It has power and concentration, and aging potential. Drink from 2022. - ROGER VOSS"

Betz Family La Serenne Syrah is 100% Syrah
La Serenne is the most reflective of the site/vintage dynamic of our three single-site 2012 Syrahs. Lovers of this wine know that its source, the Boushey Vineyard, is the highest altitude of the three vineyards and is typically the latest harvested. This cool site was accentuated by the cooler season and the results reflect the seriousness of this vineyard and its care.
An extraordinary, nearly impenetrable black purple color leads to a concentrated, inky aromatic impression: smoky black cherry and wild blackberry dominate, but a litany of supporting aromas is already emerging: smoke, violet, mushroom, roasted meat, Chinese 5 spice and minerals. It has a full attack on entry and a big, rich mouthfeel that goes on and on.
2012 is our 13th harvest from this site and these rows. We continue to be impressed with the chameleon nature of this vineyard, in cool years and hot, in heat spikes and cool springs: it provides us with surprises and opportunities at every harvest. While the themes of deep black fruits and pliant structure always surface, the nuance of this vineyard and its care (thank you, Dick Boushey) make it some of the most satisfying fruit we work with every harvest.
Review:
"The pure, elegant and textured 2014 Syrah la Serenne offers that classic violet and floral characteristics of the cuvee, as well as medium to full-bodied richness, lots of black raspberry fruit, fine, sweet tannin and a great finish. It’s not as powerful or concentrated as the La Cote Rousse, yet it’s a joy to drink and will cruise for a decade or more on its balance and purity. - Jeb Dunnuck"

Cabrieres Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge Les Silex is made from 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah .
The vineyard is situated on the high tablelands, which are characteristic of the northern area of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The terrain consists mainly of alpine diluvium and chalky Miocenian soil, with large flint pebbles covering the surface. These pebbles conserve the heat of the day during the night, thus avoiding too much evaporation.
Elegant cherry red color, with expressive notes of red fruits (strawberry and raspberry). Mellow tannins, well-balanced in the palate, with a freshness and a fruity taste.
Very good with white meat, red meat, charcuterie and cheese.
