Saumaize Michelin Pouilly Fuisse Vignes Blanches 2018

Saumaize Michelin Pouilly-Fuisse Vignes Blanches is 100 percent Chardonnay.

White peach, pear aromas; brioche nuances. Mineral, rich and full flavored and complex wine.

The vines are 40-45 years old of age on average. All of the wines are 100% barrel fermented and 100% M-L fermentation.

Review:
Aromas of pear, citrus oil, white flowers and blanched almonds introduce the 2018 Pouilly-Fuissé Vignes Blanches, a medium to full-bodied, satiny but incisive wine that's one of the more tightly wound, structured bottlings in the range this year. This has turned out nicely and should reward some bottle age.

Review:

"The 2019 Saint-Véran Les Crèches delivers aromas of pear, cirrus oil and white flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, textural and gourmand palate that's girdled by bright acids. This nicely balanced wine is already drinking well. - William Kelley"

Product Description

Saumaize-Michelin Pouilly-Fuisse “Clos sur la Roche” is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.

Produced from the oldest parcel of the estate dating back from 1979 and planted on the slopes of the Vergisson Rock, "Clos sur la Roche" benefits from a south sun exposure. This beautiful Chardonnay offers abundant floral and white fruit aromas, toasty and buttery notes and brioche scents. Well-balanced and concentrated on the palate with a rich structure and refreshing notes of zesty lemon and mineral purity that brings a vibrant energy to the finish.

Complex aromas of soft citrus fruits and minerals. Densely packed and fresh, with intense, complex flavors of white fruit as well as a hint of spice. The finish is very firm, long but not dry.

Review:

"Opening in the glass with notes of pear, citrus oil, white flowers and wet stones, the 2019 Pouilly-Fuissé Clos Sur la Roche is medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with fine cut and grip. It's the most tightly wound and incisive of these 2019 and consequently—to my palate—the most promising. - William Kelley"
