Review:
A lightly flavored Burgundy showing red cherry, a bit of red plum, and garrigue. Quite dry on the mid-palate but elegant nonetheless. All destemmed fruit, aged in a combination of new and used oak for 12 months.International Wine Review 90 Points

The Domaine Thierry Mortet Estate
The Domaine was officially created in 1992, when Thierry’s father retired and his estate was divided between his two sons. Thierry studied enology and viticulture in Beaune before joining his parents and brother and working at the Domaine
Thierry uses Burgundy barrels from Rousseau et Toutan, one third new each year. Annually, the estate bottles 1,100 cases. Thierry strives for fruit and finesse in his wines. Generally his top wines age well for 10-15 years.
The Domaine Thierry Mortet Vineyard
Thierry started in 1992 with a 4 hectare vineyard. It now measure 7 hectares (17.5 acres) and produces 85% red wine and 15% white wine. The vineyards spread over four villages: Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Couchey and Daix (west of Dijon).
Thierry Mortet uses classic winemaking techniques: pre-fermentation maceration for 3 or 4 days, total fermentation time of 2 weeks. The grapes are harvested by hand, are sorted and are 100% de-stemmed. The result is expressive, full-bodied, generous, pure wines.
Starting with the 2010 vintage, the Estate is now certified Organic !

1970 was winding down when our founders, Bill Blosser and Susan Sokol Blosser pulled their ’68 VW Camper up to an abandoned prune orchard some 30 miles southwest of Portland. These moonstruck kids had little farming experience and just a basic knowledge of winemaking. What they did have, in abundance, was a passion for growing the Pinot Noir grape and creating world-class wine. Soon after settling on this extraordinary land, they planted their first vines and cinched their place as pioneers in Oregon’s budding wine industry.
Review:
A very impressive wine for the striking sense of spice, white-pepper and briary, forest notes, across red cherries. The palate has sapid, focused style with such taut yet silky tannins holding long and true. Pure red cherries here. Drink or hold.

The Wine
Carnival of Love is Mollydooker's flagship McLaren Vale Shiraz — a bold, richly layered red that has become one of Australia's most sought-after Shiraz bottlings. Grown on the Gateway vineyard and matured in 100% new American oak, it pours a deep, saturated purple and opens with lifted aromas of raspberry, black cherry and a whisper of aniseed spice. The palate is generous and plush, brimming with dark and red fruit, mocha, coconut and plum, all framed by chocolate, sweet spice and the signature Mollydooker fruit weight that carries the wine without ever feeling heavy. Mollydooker was founded in 2005 by husband-and-wife winemakers Sparky and Sarah Marquis in McLaren Vale, South Australia. "Mollydooker" is Australian slang for a left-hander — both Sparky and Sarah are left-handed — and that playful, against-the-grain spirit runs through everything they make. Review:
Notes of star anise, red licorice and sarsaparilla add a wonderfully spicy thread that complements the core of cherry, including dried and kirschlike flavors. The dense tannins show a firming side that’s reminiscent of strong, malty Assam black tea and unsweetened chocolate.
