Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Aux Boudots is made from 100 percent Pinot Noir.
Domaine Jean Grivot is among the great names in Burgundian wine. Étienne Grivot and his wife Marielle took over from Étienne’s father Jean Grivot in 1987. The vineyards are densely planted and farmed organically “sans certification” while the aim in the cellar is for balance and clear expression of terroir.
Jean Grivot’s 38.3 acres spread across 22 appellations with vineyards in the communes of Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot, Chambolle-Musigny, and Nuits-Saint-Georges. Besides the three grand crus, there are 8 premier crus including the much lauded Les Beaux Monts and Suchots in Vosne-Romanée. The grapes are completely de-stemmed and fermentation is spontaneous.
Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Boudots 1er cru lies in the “Zone Vosnoise” or northern end of Nuits-Saint-Georges just below Les Damodes. It borders Vosne-Romanée Aux Malconsorts 1er just to its north. Its position slightly lower on the slope with deep soil full of pebbles results in a richer and fuller wine.
The grapes are destemmed and maceration à froid usually lasts just a day or two. The alcoholic fermentation is spontaneous and malolactic fermentation occurs in barrel. Depending on the vintage, the proportion of new oak is around 30-60% for the premier crus.
The wine shows aromas and flavors of red berries, herbs, and purple flowers. The palate is rich with ripe fruit and medium weight with bright acidity and fine tannins. Aging in 30-60% new Burgundian pièce brings notes of vanilla, toast, and baking spices.
Red Burgundy might be the world’s most flexible food wine. The wine’s high acidity, medium body, medium alcohol, and low tannins make it very food-friendly. Red Burgundy, with its earthy and sometimes gamey character, is a classic partner to roasted game birds, grilled duck breast, and dishes that feature mushrooms, black truffles, or are rich in umami.
Review:
Dense rich black purple. The nose is very heady but Boudots can carry it. Black cherry but there are nuances here, not just power. A wonderful depth, length and breadth to this, brilliantly energetic fruit, tannins just in the right place, refreshing mineral acidity. Finishes on black fruit with a touch of liquorice but wafts of redder notes are never far away.

The palate is medium-badied with fine-grain tannins, slightly savory on the entry, fresh and saline on the finish. This has real verve and class, though it will benefit from time in bottle -Vinous 93-95 Points A wine with the substance and structure to support the generous lashings of new oak used for maturation, and the overall effect is elegant and classic in style. Aux Boudots, where Grivot has 0.85ha, is at the northern edge of Nuits, just over the border from Vosne-Romanée Malconsorts. They began to pick on the 3rd of September – Etienne specified that they are very particular that the tannins are ripe and do what they can to prolong the vegetative cycle. Still, the grapes were picked with an entirely correct pH of around 3.4.

An extremely ripe nose lacks the same freshness as the best in the range though importantly, there are no notes of port-like nuances on the black cherry and spice aromas. The dense, powerful and very serious medium weight plus flavors possess excellent mid-palate density while exhibiting fine length on the long if slightly warm finale. This is a big Boudots that may better harmonize with time in bottle. Drink 2035+

Trouillet Lebeau Pouilly-Vinzelles Les Quarts is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.
The wine comes from a very small parcel located in the climate of "Les Quarts" benefiting from an eastern exposure that is perfectly suited to Chardonnay, allowing early harvests and giving rich and powerful wines. Neighboring the archaeological complex of Solutré, the Vinzelles appellation is based on the same Jurassic (Bathonian and Bajocian) rocks that crown the Mâconnais mountains.
Rich aromas of peach, apricot and grapefruit, evolving with age towards fresh almond, hazelnut, honey, quince or toasted bread. This Pouilly-Vinzelles "Les Quarts" balances its natural minerality with fatness and opulence.

Gold in color, robust aromas of candied apple, caramel, spiced white peach and dried orange zest unfurl in the glass lifted by freshly-slice quince. The palate is an intriguing mix of tart-and-ripe orchard fruit that wraps around white tea and crushed stone. Trouillet Lebeau Macon Solutre Pouilly is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.
The Macon-Solutre-Pouilly is produced from the 2 hectare-parcel called "Au Rompay", which is the highest of the estate, located at the southern tip of the Mâconnais in the Mont Pouilly, across the famous Solutré Rock. The grapes are usually harvested in the very last days, bringing freshness and minerality to the wine.
The nose opens generously with sweet notes of candied and citrus fruits. The maturity and ripeness of the fruit combine with an aromatic freshness and a real delicacy in the mouth. The wine is structured, but still lively on the finish.

Trouillet Lebeau Pouilly-Loche Les Mures is made from 100% Chardonnay.
Pouilly Loché is the smallest appellation in the Mâconnais (33 hectares). The climate called "Les Mures" is located on a hillside, facing east, overlooking the Saône Valley at an altitude of 250 meters, in the village of Loché, 5 kilometers south-east of Mâcon. Loché has been a site devoted to vines since the Roman times. Excavations during the construction of the TGV station, which puts this vineyard 1 hour 40 minutes from Paris and Geneva, revealed the foundations of a large villa. Thereafter, the vine flourished under the influence of the monks of Cluny, who are reminded of the magnificent 12th century octagonal bell tower behind which the rocks of Solutré and Vergisson stand out.
The wine offers delicate and precise aromas of ripe yellow fruits. Dense, fleshy and fruity in the mouth with a fresh menthol finish.
Trouillet Lebeau St. Veran Les Condemines is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.
The wine comes from 70-year-old vines that are ideally located on a south-facing slope in the village of Leynes, on a clay-limestone terroir. Aged 100% in Burgundy barrels, offering a fruity, powerful and charming wine. Beautiful expressive aromas of ripe yellow fruits. Rich, generous, full, crisp and well-balanced on the palate.
Échezeaux is loyal to its appellation through the finesse of its attack on the palate and its overall balance. But it's also a wine with pronounced acidity, which gives it freshness and structure and bestows upon it a sometimes austere finish.
Review:
Notably ripe aromas combine notes of poached plum, tangerine peel-inflected chocolate, anise and once again a floral top note. The rich, succulent and admirably concentrated larger-scaled flavors also possess good underlying tension while delivering very fine length and depth on the dusty, austere and built-to-age finale. This too is going to need at least a decade of keeping before it will be reasonably approachable.

The 2020 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a crisp, quite pure bouquet with a mixture of red and blue fruit, a touch of violet, maybe just a bit pinched at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with a sappy opening, quite chewy compared to others and at the moment, this just attenuates a little on the finish. I need to be more convinced by this cuvée, at the moment, surpassed by their top-notch Premier Crus.

Trouillet Lebeau Pouilly-Fuisse Aux Chailloux Premier Cru is made from 100% Chardonnay.
This Pouilly-Fuisse is produced from 60 year old Chardonnay grapes (among the oldest of the domaine) that are grown in the foothills of the Solutre Rock on the parcel called "Chailloux" - the name means in old French clay and rounded “chailles” or stones. They play a significant role in the composition of the soil as they bring minerality to the wine.
The wine offers beautiful aromas of red juice orange and spices. Ample in the mouth, rich and full, with a fresh finish on citrus fruits.
Excellent with poultry and fresh water fish. Delicious also with goat cheeses.

The nose is airy and light, with Meyer lemon, Bosc pear, orange zest, honeycomb and wild white flowers. On the palate, a core of white peach is framed by green pear, delicate salted butter and light brioche notes. Maison Patricia Raquin is a negociant based in Savigny-les-Beaunes in the heart of Burgundy. Patricia and her husband, Alain, have been in the business for decades and they have developed some incredible relations with producers all over Burgundy. The selection process is quite similar to what we would do with our own brand Rubus. Most of the wines come from incredible vineyard sites and from growers are associated with outstanding quality. The dogs shown on the labels are Borzois, which means 'fast' in Russian. They are also called Russian Wolfhounds; a breed similar to greyhounds. Patricia and Alain are proud owners of 2 Borzois, who, as depicted on the label, guard their vaulted aging cellar inside their house.

The Gigondas appellation is naturally delimited by the Dentelles de Montmirail to the east and the upper plateaux of the Ouvèze River to the west. The rugged topography of the Dentelles, amazing limestone pyramids, protects the vines from excessive summer heat and the full force of the mistral. Our vines grow on steep terraces up to 400 metres in altitude.
This Cru Gigondas displays a fine balance between freshness and an impression of sweetness due to old Grenache vines planted at high altitude. The wine is big on the palate, with a dense texture of rich, ripe tannin. Its polished personality reflects a top-rate terroir.

Deep magenta. The perfumed nose showcases spice-accented cherry, raspberry and fragrant floral notes. Broad and seamless in texture, offering appealingly sweet red and blue fruit, allspice and licorice flavors and a touch of lavender. The 2020 Château Grand-Puy Ducasse is a brilliant, powerful, age-worthy Pauillac that will reward bottle age. Blackcurrants, tobacco, cedar pencil, and chocolate are just some of its nuances, and this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a dense, mouth-filling texture, plenty of ripe tannins, and outstanding length. It's not the most elegant Pauillac out there, but it has quintessential aromatics, structure, and density, and is beautifully done, as well as incredibly satisfying. Pommard has been cultivated in the area for several Centuries. The name Pommard comes from Pomone, goddess of the fruits and gardens.
The wine boasts a nice cherry red color. The nose is complex and powerful with predominant notes of fruit (Morello cherry, citrus, fresh fig), forest and spice. In the palate, it is powerful and robust with flavors of cherry and spice with well-integrated tannins. Great balance.
Perfect with beefsteak, furred or feathered game, stewed poultry and cheeses like Epoisses.
Booker Vertigo Red Blend is made from 7% Syrah, 32% Mourverde, 9% Grenache, 7% Petite Syrah, 5% Tannat.
Vertigo is our Syrah-heavy "G-S-M". It is spicy, structured, and always performs. The name is a nod to the steepness of the hillside on our estate where we grow the fruit for this wine. Starts with aromas of spice, dark chocolate and soft purple fruits on the nose. The palate surprises you with a touch of cayenne amongst juicy ripe fruit. We recommend making this your BBQ staple. Argot Le Rayon Vert Chardonnay is made from 100 percent Chardonnay.
"Le Rayon Vert", the phenomenon which occurs as the sun dips below the horizon, and a brilliant green flash occurs when sunlight prisms through Earth's atmosphere. Jules Verne wrote "a green which no artist could ever obtain on his palette”, akin to the ethereal, green halo all truly pedigreed Chardonnays radiate from the glass.
Wafting from the glass like a freshly opened stick of Wrigley's gum. Both intense and vibrant, the full-bodied palate delivers Granny Smith apple and stone fruits; confections of custard and sticky vanilla bean; animated by bursts of spearmint and pine forest.

The 2019 Chardonnay Le Rayon Vert comes from fruit grown on Sonoma Mountain. It slides out of the glass with graceful notes of lemon tart, lime leaves, and fresh grapefruit, leading to suggestions of almond croissant, sea spray, honeysuckle, and aniseed. The medium-bodied palate is fantastically tight-knit with gorgeous tension and layer upon layer of citrus and mineral flavors, finishing very long and chalky. This is amazing.

There are a scant 320 cases of the 2019 Chardonnay Le Rayon-Vert, which hails from the Sonoma Mountain AVA and spent 14 months in 70% new French oak. It offers a lighter, grey-tinged gold hue as well as an old school nose of crushed citrus, tart peach, hazelnuts, crushed stone, and white flowers. Beautiful on the palate as well, it has a crisp, pure texture, some notable reduction, nicely integrated acidity, and outstanding length. It's a beautiful Chardonnay to enjoy over the coming 3-5 years. Give it a decant if drinking any time soon.

Timeless Notes:
Dark cherry in color, firm on the palate with a vibrant acidity underbelly. Thought lush on the palate the flavors are complex and elegant from entry to mid-palate with hints of currant and wild berries. The finish brings in a touch of tobacco and leather notes ,classic examples of this region, with more ripe fruit flavors that linger on long strain tannin finish. Complex with depth and elegance on the palate. This one is drinking now, but can handle more time in the cellar with ease. An excellent value in the Riserva category.
