At Saint Cosme, their white wine traditions are as important and time-honored as the reds. The Clairette grape variety has found the ideal place to express itself in the cool, limestone valley of Saint Cosme. Produced by massal selection from the Le Poste vinevard, the Clairette for Hominis Fides thrives in Miocene limestone sand. Its aromas of fennel and grapefruit usher in its finely textured palate, imparting it with substantial agability.

In preparation for the imminent ability to bottle white wine under the Gigondas appellation, Louis Barruol has added another single-vineyard Clairette. The 2021 Cotes du Rhone Blanc Hominis Fides is a fine example from six-year-old vines, boasting gentle wood-spice accents to white-peach fruit and a touch of honeyed richness. It's medium to full-bodied, plump and rounded in the mouth, then finishes long and mouthwatering, with echoes of lime zest.

Mordoree Cotes du Rhone Dame Rousse Rose is made from 40% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 15% Cinsault, 5% Carignan, 5% Mourvèdre
Domaine de La Mordoree Cotes du Rhone Rosé is produced from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards. This dry, crisp, light, salmon-colored offering exhibits fruity aromas of strawberry and raspberry, citrus fruits and floral notes. It is round, fresh and well-balanced in the mouth, with a long finish.
Food pairing: cold meats and delicatessen, fowl, white meats, grilled lamb with Provence herbs, fish soup, fried fish, pastas, pizzas and all Asian dishes.

The colour is purple-tinged garnet.The aromatic range of the nose goes from fresh berries (wild raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry) to spices.The palate is big and full-flavoured, with silky-smooth tannins and aromas of the fruit already mentioned. The finish introduces touches of liquorice and pepper. A Côtes du Rhône with great complexity for an every day drinking.
A classic Rhône to drink between 1 and 4 years. Best poured at 17°C.
Traditional wine making and ageing is performed in vats only. Bottling after 10-12 months.

Grand Veneur Cotes Du Rhone Les Champauvins is made of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre
Intense, brilliant garnet-red colour. It reveals lovely fruit, loads of body and a heady bouquet of ground peppers, raspberries cherry liqueur, currants, and spice box. Full-bodied and dense, it tastes more like a "baby Châteauneuf" than a Côtes du Rhône.
A complete wine, rich and elegant, thanks to the harmony of all the elements which make it up.

Soil type DOMAINE GRAND VENEUR “Les Champauvins” stretches on 34 ha classified in Côtes du Rhône. The plots are located in the northern border of Châteauneuf du Pape, exactly from 3 meters outside the appellation. A small lane of rocks going through the rocky plateaux has been decided to be the AOC limit in 1936. Here, soils are made of red clay and rocks (pebbled stones of quartz). The quantity of rocks can be amazing as they can completely cover the soil (see picture). In summer and during the day, the rocks temperature will increase to 55°C. This accumulated heat will be get back to the vines during nights . Day after day, this unique phenomenon allow the grapes to reach a perfect maturity and produce a unique wine. Winemaking & Ageing Traditional, in stainless steel vats. Harvest crushed and destemmed. Fermentation in temperature controlled vats at 28°C. Eighteen-day vating period with “pigeage”. Charles Thomas Cotes du Rhone Rose is made from 50% Syrah, 50% Grenache.
Tasting Notes:
Very charming pale rose color. The wine displays lots of fresh fruit aromas such as strawberry and watermelon. The palate is focused and very well balanced with again some strawberry and ripe red fruit notes. The finish is quite pleasing and long with a little spiciness and freshness to it.

This Estate is located in the GARD department near Pont Saint Esprit (10 miles North-West of Orange).
The Charles Thomas Vineyard
56 Ha grown organically since March 2009 (in conversion).
Part of the vineyard is plowed with horses.
4 varietals are produced: 29 Hectares (72 acres) of Syrah, 22 Hectares (54.5 acres) of Grenache, 3 Hectares (7.5 acres) of Mourvedre and 2 Hectares (5 acres) of Carignan.
Mechanical harvest.
Yields: 48 hectoliters per Hectares.
Average age of the vines : 30 years old.
The vineyard is situated in an archeological site that has revealed many artifacts dating back from the 4th Century.
