The label is an exact replica of the label used in 1974 by Maurice Martin when he began selling wine in bottle with his own label instead of selling everything to the negoce (Wine merchants).

It was the beginning of a quality driven goal, instead of quantity driven as it was the case before when the wine merchants would buy anything and the producer wouldn't mind as his name wouldn't be at stake.

Review:

"Offering a Graves-like style in its smoked earth, dark fruits, coffee grind, and earthy, tobacco-laced aromas and flavors, the 2015 Chateau La Graviere Les Terrasses Cotes de Bourg is medium to full-bodied, has a fleshy, rounded, sexy texture, and a great finish. It’s another gem from the 2015 vintage that over-delivers. Drink it any time over the coming 7-8 years."

Review:

Glistening ruby-red. Lively, spice-tinged red berry, cherry and floral aromas show very good clarity and take on a hint of earthiness as the wine opens up. Tangy and focused on the palate, offering bitter cherry and red currant flavors that deepen and turn sweeter through the midpalate. Fleshes out on a long, focused finish that features discreet tannins a juicy red fruit character. - Josh Raynolds".

Rinaldi Panta rei Monferrato Rosso 2017

Rinaldi Panta rei Monferrato Rosso is a blend of 50% Barbera and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon.

This wine is quite tasty, smooth, silky and powerful.
It is loaded with dried red fruit notes from the appassimento of the grapes and it also has a lot of spicy aromas and flavors from the oak ageing.

The average age of the vines is 30 years old.
10% of the wine is appassimento. Appassimento is an Italian term for drying harvested grapes, traditionally on bamboo racks or straw mats, for a few weeks up to several months to concentrate the sugars and flavors. This process is used in making Amarone, Recioto and Sforzato.
This drying method is not traditional in Piemonte but is popular in other part of Italy like in the Veneto region.
Thanks to this new method the wine is rounder and softer, boasts beautiful notes of red dried fruits.
Pantarei is aged 14 months in French oak ((the wood is Allier, medium toast) barrels and 6 months in bottle before release.

Delicious with wild game, grilled meat and strong cheese.

Mordoree Lirac Blanc La Plume du Peintre 2017

What we are offering today is the holy grail of the Rhone Valley: Mordoree Lirac Blanc Plume de Peintre 2017. This wine is only produced in special vintages, 2012 being the last and now 2017 which is by far a superior Rhone vintage.

So, we have a wine rarely produced from one of Rhone’s top estates and the near perfect vintage combined with only 10 cases imported. All of which make this wine the most sought after wine not only in our portfolio, but in all of the Rhone Valley. It is no surprise this is considered the finest Lirac produced since the Delorme family of Mordoree was the force behind the rejuvenation of the Lirac region two decades ago.

Review:

Tasted a week before bottling, the 2017 Lirac Blanc la Plume du Peintre is a blend of five varieties and was barrel fermented and aged in new oak (six Saint-Martin barrels, to be precise). Honey and caramel notes adorn tropical fruit, with hints of pineapple and guava framed and supported by orange and lime zest. It's full-bodied and rich, with a long, lively finish. - Wine Advocate 92-94 Points
